Too in-depth of an analysis needed to just give an opinion on the interwebs. As I tell my clients, if I ain't getting paid to read a document, I ain't reading the document (half-joking of course but I don't have the energy to do a full analysis of this)

Edit: I did an analysis of N.C. Governor Cooper's EOs a few weeks back when some folks were outraged and wanted to challenge it - I actually read them unlike many people opining on them.

The NC statutes allow for broad executive powers in an emergency, and even broader powers if his EO is approved by I think the state legislature. Think, hurricanes and mandatory evacuations. Moreover, "police" powers of the state - that is, broad powers for public health and safety - belong to the states under the Tenth Amendment.

There were parts that I thought were unconstitutional, like the proscription that ten or more people couldn't assemble for any reason violates the First Amendment right to peaceably assemble and petition the government for the redress of grievances - woman got arrested in Raleight for doing this. But overall he had statutory authority for probably 90% of the EO. I suspect the same in Texas.

Unpopular opinion among the outrage crowd, but I try to be reasonable in all things and weed out the hype.

We are now at the court of public opinion time - for those who care.
