From French Live Feed :

- 22h55 : " Tests done by Stanford Researchers on 3,300 volunteers in Santa Clara County, California, that 2.5 - 4.1% of the population in the county could be infected. "

An antibody test was done in the first week of April, on 3,300 volunteers from Santa Clara county, recruited by (or via) Facebook.
Their non-peer reviewed study (Published friday, no link tho), also concluded that the mortality rate could be as low as 0.2%.

- 23h25 : " 60 - 70% of Sailors on USS Theodore Roosevelt are Asymptomatic, says General John Hyten "

" These are only based on 5,000 people, but they are a very special type of people. Mostly young, and in very good health. "

Has anyone mentioned this: What happens when it warms up and is Mosquito Season? Can the Wuhan be transmitted via blood and Mosquitos? Things could get really scary then.

They had a news segment on this last night. Bottom line - no. It doesn't circulate in the blood so mosquitoes can't transmit it.

They may have said that but any claims of that sort should be made with caution since it's too soon to know. Also there's this:
"Twenty patients had two to six specimens collected at the same time. Viral RNA was detected in single specimens from six patients (respiratory specimens, feces, or blood). Seven patients shed live virus in respiratory specimens, 5 in feces (2 of whom did not have diarrhea), and 2 in blood."

The virus can sometimes be systemic.... so YES it can be in the blood

COVID-19 Is A Man-Made Virus: HIV-Discoverer Says "Could Only Have Been Created In A Lab"

Professor Luc Montagnier, 2008 Nobel Prize winner for Medicine, claims that SARS-CoV-2 is a manipulated virus that was accidentally released from a laboratory in Wuhan, China. Chinese researchers are said to have used coronaviruses in their work to develop an AIDS vaccine. HIV DNA fragments are believed to have been found in the SARS-CoV-2 genome.

Chinese researchers are said to have used coronaviruses in their work to develop an AIDS vaccine. HIV DNA fragments are believed to have been found in the SARS-CoV-2 genome.

He seems to have many strange theories.
This Article from the Asiatimes has some more information, and comments from other Scientists :

quote from the Article :

According to him, the presence of elements of HIV in the genome of the new virus and elements of the “germ of malaria” are suspect, the report said. Montagnier, who was interviewed on the French CNews channel, said the characteristics of the new coronavirus could not have arisen naturally.

The accident was said to have taken place in the Wuhan National Biosafety Laboratory, he added.

“The Wuhan city laboratory has specialized in these coronaviruses since the early 2000s,” he claimed. “They have expertise in this area.”

He also proposes to rid the virus of these foreign elements “with waves” — a theory which has attracted mockery in the past.

“That does not make sense. These are very small elements that we find in other viruses of the same family, other coronaviruses in nature,” virologist Étienne Simon-Lorière of the Institut Pasteur in Paris, explained to AFP.

“These are pieces of the genome that actually look like lots of sequences in the genetic material of bacteria, viruses and plants,” he says.

“If we take a word from a book and it looks like another word, can we say that one has copied from the other? This is absurd!”

Simon-Lorière is manager of the evolutionary genomic structure of RNA viruses at the Institut Pasteur, the report said.

The alleged modifications of the virus — which would seek to get rid of foreign elements (genetic pieces of HIV) — are undoubtedly false, adds Simon-Lorière, who abstained from any comment on Montagnier’s “waves” theory.

He didn't come up with the idea, he followed on with the idea from a French Scientist, Jacques Benveniste, quote from the article you linked to :

Montagnier considers himself an intellectual heir to the controversial French scientist Jacques Benveniste, who claimed in a 1988 Nature paper that water can retain "memories" of compounds even when diluted at a very high level—a claim that caused a sensation in the press and was taken as support of homeopathy by its proponents, but that other scientists weren't able to replicate.

He's mostly considered a quack nowadays, even though his research, with collegues, on HIV was rewarded with a Nobel prize.

Another Ho Hum report from Thailand: 2,700 total cases since the start on Jan. 13, 28 new cases, 47 total deaths,
.07 deaths/million pop. Compare this with UK d/m: 215, Canada: 35

Leaders of the 10 ASEAN Nations held a teleconference/webinar recently to discuss Covid-19. Vietnam has done remarkably well with only 268 total cases with no deaths at all. They were quick and decisive in their response to the outbreak. Concerns arise about Singapore which seemed to have the virus under control, then eased up a bit on containment measures, and now is suffering a resurgence.

Looks like Thai leaders will learn from this and continue the lockdown at least until the end of April despite the economic consequences.

Just a Dumbass fact. Today is the day that the total reported deaths of corona surpassed the deaths by hunger each 6 days.

Maybe wishful thinking on my part. If he's right and this is a man made virus with DNA from HIV, those infected may never be cured. A terrifying thought by any measure.

In the UK they have claimed that without a lockdown the death toll could have been 800,000. When you consider the daily death toll now and the extent of the isolation and social distancing could this have happened? I don't know!

They can claim that all day long. It doesn't make it true.

Doesn't seem too far fetched to me? If you look at the number of deaths they're getting WITH the strict lockdown, it wouldn't take much to make an accurate estimate/model for what it could have been without any preventative measures (as in treat it like the flu).

Perhaps 800k would have been on the higher-end of the estimate, but certainly not out of the realms of possibility when you consider just how much more strained/overloaded the hospitals would inevitably become if everyone just carried on like it's nothing more than the flu. In that scenario I think anywhere from 500k-800k over the course of a year would be a reasonably safe bet (this being in the UK only).
