It’s been infecting homosapiens for 2-4 month less than 2 that we know of.

That we know of. It could have been around for 6+ months or more.

I'd like to see tptb go back and test samples from people who have died of flu, pneumonia and any other similar diseases, to see if they had it, and keep going backwards until they stop finding cases of it.

It would be extremely naive and is extremely naive to even attempt to fully understand the effects of this virus to the human body in the long term.

Agreed.

Sadly thou the holier than thou people out there still compare it to the flu, and think hysteria and panic in regards to a virus effecting homosapiens for the first time in this strain of a virus, has to do with politics.

The numbers haven't deviated much since this thing began. CFR hovering around 3.4% with low testing (most countries, USA lower at just under 2%), but hovering between 0.7-0.9% where more wide-spread testing is being done (SK).

Yes, we still need to wait and see what happens in the longer term, but for now, there is zero reason for the panic and fear-mongering going on.

It is bad... like -trigger-warning- a bad flu, especially for those with underlying health problems and the aged.

Never thought I'd see the day when toilet paper was the most sought after item on the planet!

I think people need to calm down... there are other ways to clean. Many thousands of years went by without toilet roll in existance.

How many false negatives have we seen?

I'm still interested in how many false positives there may have been...

I think it will take multiple tests over the next week or so.

I think the false negatives were due to the bad test kits, and the new ones being used now don't have that problem?

Being he was in such close proximity to 2 people that had it. I would think the chances he caught it are pretty high.

Actually, the DP numbers show that proximity isn't nearly the problem as once feared. Sustained closer contact, where exposure to droplets, either via contaminated surfaces (and remember the whole 'it can live on surfaces for weeks' thing was debunked, worst case is on plastics for 2-3 days under ideal conditions), kissing, etc is required for transmission.

Once one of these "it's just a cold" clueless people expose an elderly population we will see ok once again what this virus will do.

Actually, I've only seen one or maybe two people on here say anything like that, and that was only a few times.

The rest of us are just pointing at the numbers calmly, telling everyone to please take care of their vulnerable loved ones.

My position on this thing has not changed much over these months, as I continue to do just that - point to the numbers, which are all showing the CFR is very likely less than 1% overall CFR, with the vast majority being those who are also in danger from other things like the regular flu.

I also believe that once the 'novel' aspect is done and we develop some immunity, the CFR will devolve more in line with the flu...

If you cannot acknowledge this perspective as just as valid as your doom-porn end-of-the-world doomsday bio-weapon theory, then your perceptions are clouded.
I am not sure if you are intelligent, naive or just plain stupid. Whichever it is, you are entitled to your view/perspective but I for one do not agree with your position.

Based on what has occurred to date and the sequence of events since this virus (tool) became known to the world whilst it was ravaging in China, along with information that has been related during these 5 threads it is rather difficult to discard the fact that this virus is in no way natural but in fact appears to have the makeup of a very well designed best results wish list depopulation tool. A clever cocktail of components derived from other known viruses, be they Sars/Mers/HIV/Syph etc.
And to be honest, now appears to be in play right before your very eyes.
If you were to create a wish list for such a tool that is just the job for a depopulation and stemming population growth virus tool, this virus is what it would look like. And we do not yet know the extend of this tools full effects.

This virus tool has been designed for effect whilst attempting to appear natural.

But you know the big giveaways are (pointers to the truth) the fact it was launched in Wufan were there is the L4 BW lab, there were BW war games in Wufan in Oct 19 (if true) and because China has deliberately given low numbers to the world so borders were not shut quickly, which if they had done in Jan, borders would have been shut down in january and no ins or outs of China would have been allowed. And we would not have the pandemic we have which was the intention in the first place.

This virus tool is performing the way it is because its based on a specification for subtle maximum effect to mostly eliminate the old and weak etc whilst ensuring the young are generally not impacted who are the planned and required survivors of depopulation. The tool may also be ensuring that longevity becomes rare because of the lasting effects of the virus!

Things that are natural are amazing and beautiful but don't often evolve to discriminate in such a clever and almost invisible precise way.

My opinion! I would be very happy to be wrong!!!!

Wrong
I may also affect the sperm cells in men.

don't have the links, must be paid to get into, but someone here can follow it and post it

My mother caught a nasty virus back in January (negative for both Influenza A and B) and it wrecked her for 6 weeks

Also my new hire who just started 2 weeks ago had a nasty virus around Christmas time that caused bronchitis and was also an unknown virus that knocked her on her rear for 5 or 6 weeks

I truly believe this thing may have already done the rounds with some folks...

People forgot about water and ... khm .. khm .. books (you can apologize to the authoe afterwards)
... I think that the side effect of this virus is diarrhea hahaha ... That's the only logical conclusion as to why fever, cough and pneumonia leeds to toilet paper shortages

Thanks! I'm with my grandmother right now and we were waiting for the special program. I figured they were just getting ready, a bit too late, etc. Like the recent Trump live speech. In the meantime I went to do some shopping for my grandmother and we haven't kept track of it since then.

Anyway, I'm glad the community/doctors/specialists managed to persuade the corrupt government to discuss about closing the schools. I really hope the people will now finally see their power. We decide, not the government.

Woke up this morning with a real feeling of doom. Just can't seem to shake it. I think it is just the reality of things setting in. This is our new life. Things are changing at such a rapid pace.

Then I have relatives that still go about with fingers in ears, and blinders on. Even though I have told them to prepare here for over a month.

My aunt, who is 90 but very mobile, is going to church today. She says they don't have 500 people so it is fine. ???

Brother in law is taking is family to Kentucky this week to see the Ark Encounter. Says if they take vitamins they will be fine.

Cousin has just been joking about it, until they closed schools yesterday. Now he is almost in panic mode.

Mother in law that got mad at my wife on the phone, when my wife was asking if they had gotten prepared. Telling her she was tired of hearing about it and basically hung up.

Ugg... Just feel so down...
Ignore it! Do what you feel is right for your family unit! Better to be cautious with things that are not yet understood and potentially harmful either in the long or the short term.

Watch for National Guard units to begin to significantly mobilize in the next few weeks. Other states will usually follow the initial example just like with closures.

Keep in mind these are medical and area support units so please don't freak out and go nuts. These are people with normal jobs like you and me, they now have to turn down possible civilian opportunities and be away from families during a time of crisis.

They are college students, researchers, laborers, teachers, parents, children, brothers and sisters. They won't act scared or nervous because they are trained to set the example and protect those in need. Just be aware of that when interacting with them.

You get to go home, they don't and there aren't many people who can handle that type of stress when people start acting a little crazy when exposed to pressure. If you need help, they will put you first, if you act like an animal, you'll be treated as such.

Believe me, I'll take an army medic or Healthcare professional over a 2 year nurse or overworked civilian professional any day.

West Virginia must have cases. My daughters friend told us that her mother had it and was being treated for pneumonia.
That was two weeks ago, maybe three.
She had all of the symptoms. This family travels extensively.
It has been circulating for a longer time then we know.
Just like many of us suspect this was in Wuhan months before the December start date.

I have said it before, just please stop.

Nowhere have I said it is the end of the world.

Also, I do not believe I have ever said it was a bioweapon. As a matter of fact if you can show me where I said that I will apologize because I do not think it is a weapon.

Now you just seem to be spitballing trying to stay relevant in a story which is evolving to point to where your opinions are quickly being shown to be outdated.

I was unbelievably ill in December. I have never been so sick, and have never taken so long to get over being sick in my life. It was nearly a month before I felt normal again. I mean I’m younger and in decent shape, and I couldn’t climb stairs, because I just could not catch my breath. For weeks.

In retrospect, I should have gone to the doctor, but in my fevered haze of exhaustion, I just weathered it at home.

Several people at work also caught it, which is where I likely picked it up.

No ones children caught it, either.

I believe we are super late to this party, and it’s been in the US (and other places) for longer than they are saying, and when testing becomes less restricted, we are going to be shocked at the numbers.

I just finished watching Chernobyl. I have a question. What if the staff that operate and ensure the plant is operating safely become sick? We did see cases in Wuhan where people just fell over with no notice that they were even ill.
Hopefully not all staff at the same time but the staff operating them are specialists and not easily replaceable. Can these plants run automatically or remotely? And for how long?
I mean what if any of us were asked to go there and stop the plant and BTW here is the manual and have a quick read. I mean we could not do it. I am sure they have backup staff but if one staff member is infected the others will be too.
We have now had two cases, Russia and Japan where the nuclear plants became crisis situations. We now have a global crisis situation where people seem to react differently to the virus. One strain where the virus symptoms are progressive but then there is the other strain where the reaction is sudden and people just die.
I am worried about this. Losing electricity would be very serious but a nuclear accident?
I do not want to be an alarmist so I am just thinking out loud and would love to hear from some experts. Just a what if scenario. I need some reassurance because so far all actions have been reactive rather then proactive and in this case we will not get a second chance to do it right.
For all of the elitists who have gone into bunkers I certainly hope some thought has been put into this or they will not be coming out of them ever!

Don't worry. There is almost no single point of failure in companies that are of critical importance to a society. The world has changed a lot after Chernobyl, not to mention 9/11.
They have plan a, b, c, d, e etc.

Italian officials say new virus cases jumped 20% to more than 21,000 in one day.

Italy has reported its biggest day-to-day jump in cases of COVID-19. National health authorities told reporters on Saturday that health officials recorded 3,497 new cases in 24 hours. That’s roughly a 20% increase in cases from the day before. A little more than half of those new cases occurred in Lombardy, the populous northern region which has been hardest hit in Europe’s worst outbreak. Italy’s total cases now tally 21,157.
