The coronavirus news dropped in the 40th week. We are currently in Week 8 and counting yet again.

8 weeks ago was Week 40. Forty weeks prior they showed us Rooftop Fire at Cathedral of Notre Dame. Forty weeks before that they showed us 12 Thai Soccer Boys in the Cave of Initiation. Before that Las Vegas Concert Shooter from the 32nd Floor.

Remember Los 33 Chilean Miners? 40th Week.

I clearly get your point. I've wondered the same myself. After all, is what I'm watching on television really happening, anyway......am I just being told it is?

So it's just a media created, contrived crisis that isn't real?

And I ask this cause.....if you're of this mindset, there are a few options: it's created wholly through press, news and media input and isn't real. or, b) it's created but a created disaster, so the ouflow and reality of it IS really real; or c) it's a little bit of both, creating a panic level that overhwhelms public perception, and therefore, supply chains, markets, attitudes towards ethnic/racial/gender specific groups of people to create division and violence, ultimately...etc....etc.

There are myriad possibilities going on, all at the same time. BUT, I can tell you this......statistically speaking, if we are to believe any numbers out there, the numbers add up to something crippling of current systems in place....

Something has been knocking around it my mind for a while,clawing at my doom gland-Its a potential side effect of the pandemic,so I hope this doesn't count as thread derailing-Apologies,it may be a big long,and be warned-its certainly not very cheery:

So as everyone knows,the pandemic is having a huge effect on Industry and Travel.
Due to this decrease in activity,there are already satellite images from NASA showing a dramatic improvement in air quality over China during their lockdown:

As Europe and America(and sadly most of the world)are also going the same way as China,its likley the same thing is happening in our countries-which normaly would be a good thing as the particles of pollution in our atmosphere are very bad for our health-especially people with respiritory conditions,some of which may actually be caused by bad air quality.

However..

As we know,the last 4 or 5 years have seen record high temperatures across the globe(I am not going to call this global warming,as that is a term which is very devicive and possibly misleading,and I am not wishing to debate that here).
This recent trend of higher temperatures occured before the pandemic,and thus before this dramatic decrease in industrial and travel activity across the world.
So one thing that all that pollution in the air does,is it prevents a portion of the suns heat from warming our planet.
This effect is known as "Global Dimming."

Global dimming is the reduction in the amount of global direct irradiance at the Earth's surface that has been observed since systematic measurements began in the 1950s.
The effect varies by location, but worldwide it has been estimated to be of the order of a 4–20% reduction. However, after discounting an anomaly caused by the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in 1991, a very slight reversal in the overall trend has been observed.
Global dimming is thought to have been caused by an increase in particulates or aerosols, such as sulfate aerosols in the atmosphere due to human action.
It has interfered with the hydrological cycle by reducing evaporation and may have reduced rainfall in some areas.
Global Dimming has been attributed as the leading factor in the 1984 Ethiopian famine by reducing heating at the tropics which drives the annual monsoon, or ‘wet season’.
Global dimming creates a cooling effect that reduces the global average temperature elevation of greenhouse gases on global warming by 0.3–0.7 degrees centigrade

So,depending upon how long the world stays in lockdown because of the pandemic,that could have phenomenally catastrophic implications for certain parts of the world,as soon as this summer and maybe for a few summers to come.

Countries which rely on Monsoon season to provide water for crops could be among the worst hit-India,Bhangladesh,Nepal,Pakistan.
Countries which have recently seen crazy hot summer temperatures could be hugely affected,parts of the middle east,asia,Australia,Africa.
The pandemic,after destroying the worlds economic equilibrium,may well go on to be reponsible for some of the worst famines and heatwaves since records began.

Imagine one or more of those countries I mentioned,with no monsoon rain and 4-20% hotter than the last few summers-we are talking unihabitable temperatures for humans and the death of all agriculture.
Imagine the problems caused by 20,30 or even 50 million or more starving possibly sick people attempting to migrate away from such areas.

This is an almost unimaginable,yet far from impossible scenario that could result from the pandemic.

As I have been thinking about this for the last few days,the same image keeps coming to my mind-A long line of dominoes,and the first one has just been knocked over into the second one..
But they are not just dominoes,they are everything which we know and call our civilization.
I just hope I am wrong.

See how the Media controls the narrative with the key story they release in the 40th week? Pay back who? At this point they’re just making it up as they go along. It’s all a joke anyway. Trillions wiped off world stock markets - where’s that gone? It was there and now, puff, gone. ALL make believe and we’re the slaves to it.

As regards people saying things like CFR going down steadily in the USA. I mean technically they are correct, but really really slow on the uptake. These are initial early figures BEFORE systems are overwhelmed. Wonder what will happen to the CFR then? Yup, it will rise significantly.

Interesting that the US is going to use or is using malaria drugs to fight this. Good move. Quite weirdly Chloroquine in the UK has virtually disappeared from online stocks and pharmacy’s. Also it’s suddenly banned from export - not that much exporting will be going on currently. Seems like the anti malarial drugs are working for a number of countries.

I'm not arguing with you about your estimation of the current situation.
What I'm saying, however, is to not pay attention to the very real fallout from all you suggest, is pure folly.

Hey all. Lurked this page and used it as my Thomas Guide through the rhetoric for years and am truly grateful.

I am a new father and graphic illustrator for a global clothing brand and was just furloughed with our HQ office of 400+ along with closing all retail shops globally. We are based in LA so nonessential lock down as well.

It has come in handy for me and my wife to use as a tool to illustrate the severity to some of our more stubborn family members who “nothingburger” this...”somethingburger”(?) and don’t understand why they can’t see the baby. We are persevering but it’s hard gettin harder.

I’ll post again if anything fires across the bow here.

Cheers, I really do know. However world debt is so vast the whole system is ridiculous. One thing is for sure, it has never been so close to utter collapse as it is now.

Michigan here confirmed going up about 50% a day. Nothing so far in our county but we are pretty diverse and a summer Chicago vacation area. People are leaving Chicago and bringing their rudeness here for this. Wife told a woman to go back to Chicago last night if it's so boring here. Woman kept whining till another customer told her to leave and go back to Chicago.

And it's hardly the beginning. Our governor says no lockdown. We'll see next week. Nuke plants on lockdown certain people can't have contact with others can't have physical contact with anyone that is not part of their core, even family.

My husband works at that base. He is currently sick with a fever going up and down, bad dry cough, hoarse voice, malaise. He’s been on leave. We did have to go to a doctors office last week for something else where there was a woman in the waiting room with one of the worst coughs I’ve ever seen or heard, and the ladies who work there made her finally put on a mask... but after she was coughing the entire time in the waiting room. Five days later my husband started getting sick. Had his flu shot this year too. Never seen him this sick. There are a bunch of confirmed cases nearby, and of course the ten on the base.

For clarity, my friend doesn’t work on that base. She was sent there for a tasking to help out. Now at home but developed a sore throat. Fingers crossed.

We have over 300 cases here in Ontario, Canada and 2 deaths. Around 1,000 for the whole country and 12 deaths. My community alone has over 25 cases.

We are self-isolating and our premier and health officials have asked everyone to just stay home if they can. Other than a daily walk, we aren’t going anywhere.

Yeah exactly.
Not everyone is faking this - it's an impossible task and anyone that thinks it's all fake needs their head tested!
But will governments and the stock markets and elite take advantage of this situation and play it to benefit them? Surely some will. But this could slip out of their hands if it gets too crazy.
It feels in many parts of the world that control of their people is only a few empty supermarkets away from chaos. Do the elite really want that? I'm guessing not. But they could for sure (have in some cases) use this as a way to take away rights and so on.

I wonder now, when are the masses (those that don't research this as endlessly as us) going to really start questioning China's official numbers? Italy's death toll today is shocking at 689, and overtakes China now. With a huge population, their numbers just don't add up, especially when you factor in closer living quarters, sharing apartments with elders and generally close proximity on transport and so on.

Stay safe man and in these times your most important fatherly duty is to keep that immediate family safe .

I have worked my ass off same job over 20 years so I’m not a lazy person but I do wish my state would go into lockdown . It probably wouldn’t help though because my wife is considered essential in her job .
