Medicines to treat viral infections, Lopinavir/ritonavir, which were originally believed to be effective against the virus, have proven to be ineffective, according to the latest New England Journal. This leaves Chloroquine, which is used to treat malaria, and Favipiravir, which is only produced in China and Japan. Current supplies of Favipiravir, however, are only enough for 600-700 patients, who each require about 70 tablets. What if there are tens of thousands of patients?
The current national health system has only about 100 negative pressure rooms for the treatment of infected patients. Are there enough appropriately equipped hospital rooms to accommodate all patients? If the hospitals do not have separate air-conditioning systems, there is a likelihood that the virus will rapidly spread to other rooms.
Government has effectively gagged epidemiologists, virologists, infectious disease specialists and other experts on Covid-19 with an instruction that all requests for comment about the state of the pandemic, the virus itself and its spread should be directed to the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD).
Several senior and experienced scientists told News24 directly that they were requested not to speak to the media and to direct all communications to the NICD.
The Ministry of Health confirmed this, saying that communications around the coronavirus needed to be "tightened" and that experts needed to be left alone to do their work.
This means that, for the most part, with a few exceptions, only government’s version of the spread of the virus is reaching the public.
Cape Town - Transnet National Ports Authority confirmed that test results from the individuals suspected to be the first cases of Covid-19 in any South African sea-port have all come back negative.
Earlier this week two vessels, the general cargo vessel MV Corona and the luxury passenger liner AIDAmira, were held off port limits outside the Port of Cape Town. The cruise liner was later allowed to dock but its roughly 1 700 passengers and crew remained onboard pending test results from one suspected Covid-19 case and seven others who had possible contact with him.

I just asked my little girl how many times she was tested by the school, and she said 5 times from 9.30am until 10.15am. The readings they got were high temp, normal, high temp, normal and then high temp again, which is when they phoned me. How strange this happened somewhere else. Dodgy thermometers?
A total of 35 people have been diagnosed with COVID-19 after the March 6 wedding of social media star Jimmy Niggles and Emma Metcalf.
31 people who attended the Stanwell Tops wedding have been confirmed to have the virus, as well as four others who were in contact with those guests, The Daily Telegraph reports.

You should always take Tylenol/Paracetamol for fever. The ibuprofen data is very very weak just like the ACE inhibitor data.
Don't be uncomfortable and stressed, take the medications. At most you're cutting hours maybe a day or two of infection and increasing spread time by a bit.

Great post. I was wondering when someone would mention fasting. Fasting gives your imune system a big jolt. Its great to do when you think you might be getting sick. Its also great to do when your not sick.
It just sucks to get yourself in a rythem with it cause its nice to eat when your hungry.
I will say that the more you do it the easier it gets.
Hope I am not too far off topic. Apologies I am.
