As a homeschool parent, I encourage you to never again find yourself in the ridiculous and draconian position of feeling the need to "ask permission" or even justify your parenting actions to some tax leech dipsnip artificially placed in a position of authority in your community. Whatever goes down with this Coronavirus, whether it changes life as we know it or becomes just another blip in the nation's history, eff the public school system! Homeschool your children and reclaim the authority God issued you over your own house.

Long time lurker here i mean going back to probably 2010. I decided to make an account because it seems like this new rochelle quarantine in NY is just the beginning. I live about 3 miles from there so I'll be looking to head out there and see how it's being done, looking forward to updating everyone here.
I also feel like numbers are being way underreported and once the incubation period ends for the new cases the numbers are gonna explode. NY was slow in response to quarantining some people and it seems to def be spreading faster than they can test.
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Gov. Andrew Cuomo says the state is closing schools, houses of worship and large gathering spots for two weeks in a “containment area” centered in suburban New Rochelle. It's the heart of what Cuomo described Tuesday as the nation's largest cluster of cases of the coronavirus. Cuomo says the state will send National Guard troops to help deliver food and clean surfaces in the area, a 1-mile-radius around a point near a synagogue connected to some existing cases. Schools will close for two weeks starting Friday, and state and local officials are working to determine “large congregate facilities or gathering places” that also will shut down.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee is limiting what information it releases about coronavirus cases, becoming an outlier compared to most other states and sparking alarm among some officials worried the move will only stir public mistrust.
Disagreement over the policy emerged this week as Tennessee’s Department of Health announced that it will no longer identify the county of where a new COVID-19 case is confirmed.
The Tennessee Department of Health said the goal is to protect patient privacy. But critics warn that the move leaves the public in the dark about areas they may want to avoid.
“I fully acknowledge and understand that everybody wants to know the county because everybody wants to try to determine their own risk,” said Health Commissioner Lisa Piercey. “That’s understandable. But we also have to keep in mind that we’re talking about patients here.”
INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) - An Indianapolis woman who suspects she and her elderly mother have been infected with coronavirus is still waiting to be contacted by state health officials – more than 72 hours after she contacted the Indiana State Department of Health’s coronavirus call center.
“I don’t understand it – not at all,” she told 13 Investigates. “They set up the call center for people like me to call and told me I’d be contacted right away, but I’m still waiting and haven’t heard a word from them. It’s disappointing.”
The woman, who asked not to be identified for fear of retaliation by her employer, attended a company meeting two weeks ago. That company has international offices across Europe and Asia – including in countries that have been hard hit by confirmed cases of COVID-19 – and employees who had recently visited those international offices were present at the meeting.
A week later, the woman said she woke up with a 103-degree fever, a cough and tightness in her chest. She stayed home from work to self-isolate herself from co-workers, and began to feel better by late last week. Her fears began to ease – until two events took place on Friday morning.
First, Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb declared a state of emergency after learning about Indiana’s first confirmed case of coronavirus in Marion County. That same morning, the woman learned that her elderly mother had a high fever and was experiencing the same symptoms she had earlier in the week. The symptoms combined with her exposure to foreign travelers who had visited countries experiencing COVID-19 outbreaks seemed to be the type of information the ISDH would be interested in, she thought.
After all, the state’s commissioner of public health stood alongside the governor to reassure residents and to encourage them to report suspected cases of the illness.
“The situation with COVID-19 is changing rapidly and we can expect to see other cases in Indiana in the future,” Dr. Kris Box said. “We will deploy all steps needed quickly to protect Hoosiers.”
