How is one of the best nations in numerous indexes the best model?
That's like saying Einstein or Usain bolt are the best model humans. They are at the top of the charts. Theres probably 190 countries in a much worse position than South Korea, so you can't say oh it will all be okay as South Korea is managing to keep deaths low. Sk's exponentially growing infections have just began, give it another week and their system will be struggling and the deaths will catch up.

GET THE KEGS: University of Washington Cancels Classes Until Further Notice....Coronavirus Parties INCOMING!
Brad & Chad and all the other frat f***bois who chain smoke juuls and compete to see who can chug Mike's Hard Lemonade bottles the fastest are going to be throwing BANGERS at their Coronavirus-themed ragers now that University of Washington has canceled classes for 2 weeks.
I'm sure this will end well in every way imaginable!

"May I ask all my friends, whether you are employed or self employed to please sign this petition I have started and share it to your page.
4.8 million people are registered self-employed in the UK. Figures are of 2017 according to the Office of National Statistics. It would be easy enough to work out what each person is entitled to based on their tax returns.
Include self-employed in statutory sick pay.
The self-employed make up 15% of UK's workforce. Majority are not entitled to any sick pay. I want the Government to include us in the recent changes to statutory sick pay because of the Corona19 virus. Excluding us means the Government are running the risk of said people continuing going to work as just like everyone else we have bills to pay and thus spreading the virus."

US 234 cases and 14 deaths - that's a 5.9% CFR. We're really trying to win this thing!
I realize the numbers are skewed due to the assisted living place getting hit. It's early in the numbers game but it's not looking good after watching the presser with the families at the life care center
Well with the number of elderly retired people, and perhaps elderly "snowbirds" coming down to roost from the northern states of frost and snow, I expect Florida will eventually win the country's CFR lottery by a landslide. Might take a little bit for the contagion engine to crank up, though. And I'm sure with the dearth of testing, that sure isn't helping to get a true picture of reality. Honestly, I'm not really sure I even want to take a glimpse of reality right now.
IMHO.

It's one thing if the Corona Virus comes to your neighborhood and you get it, it's another if you are traveling and bring the Corona Virus back home.
A tour group from Greece went and toured Israel, West Bank and Egypt. The tour bus driver in Israel had Corona, but didn't know it. When the group got back to Greece, 21 of them had the Corona Virus.
I know 40 people going in 2 weeks to Israel to tour it, along with Egypt, etc, if just one of them gets it but doesn't show symptoms until after they get back, then they bring it back to our neighborhood and the people we hang out with and we don't yet have any people in the state with the virus, that is known.

Here it comes!!!
I had much earlier posted my concerns about the control that China has over our pharmaceutical industry. They have 90% control and that includes antibiotics. India makes our generics and they receive the raw material to make them from China so that is in peril as well.
"Be Bold:
The World Owes China a Thank you.
It is in Chinese but one important highlight..."If China imposes restrictions on pharmaceutical exports the U.S. will be "plunged into the mighty sea of coronavirus."
Why would we have ever had one country be in such complete control of the production of our medication?
This does sound like a veiled threat doesn't it?
Since most of the medication is produced in Wuhan they aren't able to manufacture anyway but the saber rattling...?
So we have 2 to 3 months of supply. Then what?
We never should have allowed this to happen. This country is an enemy. Why would we allow something so important be under their control.

I wish I could figure out how to link this but it is there in Chinese.
Short answer? Greed.

Another one for the UK. There is a petition to close schools:

Wish we were more like the French, take to the streets. But maybe we would need a successful revolution for that to be a a meaningful threat (maybe we will have one ), and crowds now might not be such a good idea.
