Gonna try to catch that on the Atlanta, local news. With Hartsfield, and a major nexus to RoK via auto manufacturers in 85 corridor been Atlanta and Montgomery, I'd be surprised if there aren't any cases in Georgia.

I've been following this thread from day one but the posts have become too frequent for me to keep up between work and all of life's other demands. I appreciate everyone who has contributed, I owe you a debt. For now I'm as prepped as I care to be and ready to wait it out. I''m going to start my first thread on ATS with the objective being one that dispenses with the personal accouts, prep advice and theories. I would like this new thread to deal only with facts (as best we know them), including the nature of the virus, mutations, divergent strains, numbers of infected, deaths, rate of spread, etc. I think by now we all know it's established and coming to a city near you. I hope to see many of you there.

I was supposed to work at the Expo West Convention this week in Anaheim , CA. Half of my vendors canceled attendance and just received notice that the Expo has been postponed due to Corona concerns. Anaheim will be affected by this! One of the biggest natural foods convention canceled! Hotels, resturants, travel agencies, labour unions and retailers look forward to this convention every year.

I'm going to just start wearing my PAPR system around my lab everywhere now.

I have horrific asthma, and take all sorts of steroids and medication just so I can breath on a good day.

Pretty much GG for me if I roll that dice.

If you can try to buy something like this. I bought these at the hospital. Patients and most staff wear this type of masks.

Feb. 1st I bought a box of 10- 3m n95 face masks expecting a run on them. I should have bought more.

I was also picking up a couple of boxes of 10 surgical face masks similar of what you have in the pic. I believe I have 4 or 5 boxes of those.

I simply did not have hoarding in mind. I have a family of 5 and I figured I needed a little amount to get us through should we need them. I feel that if it gets bad enough, I still don't have enough.

It is what it is. Every single hardware store, pharmacy, or any other place that carries n95 masks are all sold out.

For those with a small supply of N95 masks or those with only regular dust masks:
Line the inside of those masks with Kleenex brand Virus tissues
They claim to kill a virus within 20 minutes if I’m not mistaken
Added protection can’t hurt

Replay here: Governor Brian Kemp confirms two cases of coronavirus in Georgia.
wgxa.tv...

Governor: "CDC tested" "They live is same household." "One traveled to Italy."

State Epidemiologist: Sent test to CDC Saturday. Tracing contacts. "Both in home isolation with other household members."
"Infection occurred in Milan." "By Friday we will be able to test in our own lab."

Q: Why not testing at airport for Italy arrivals?
"If you are not showing symptoms, there is no reason to think about getting tested." "Following CDC Guidance."
edit on 2-3-2020 by Oleman because: (no reason given)

Well my boss who drives me to work everyday found out she has strep throat today, which means I prolly have it too now cause my throat has been acting up the last couple days... So I'm going to find out tomorrow. It has me wondering though, if the Coronavirus can be much worse if you have just recovered or are recovering from something such as strep...

It appears Italy, has a hell of allot more cases than they are reporting. I would say almost all these new cases have to do with recent trips to Italy. Rumored also the pope has it.

I don't really think that's surprising. I tend to think that at some point the virus passes a point of practical numerical documentation.

Yeah, I really thought it'd be someone with a connection to South Korea, in Georgia. But apparently traveled to Italy.

It does not mention, nor list, coronavirus. It won't work.

You may want to check on what size of particulate it will filter down too. CoVID19 is 125 microns and N95 et N100 only filter down to 300 microns. I'm pretty sure the PAPR will filter down to the same 300 microns.

Don’t know if this was posted yet, but it’s all over the news here.

FEMA and DHS preparing to declare state of emergency. This would free up funds and personnel to handle the situation.

A friend in DHS also tipped me that the EO for it is done. Don’t know if POTUS has it or not, friend did not know.

I’m also happy to see they’ve engaged the local health agencies so they have more manpower at the community level. While everyone is attacking VP Pence he did guide the efforts to stop a drug needle borne HIV outbreak in spite of Indiana state law prohibiting state needle programs, he was able to leverage the CDC to get it done. He also worked with an Ebola case IIRC.

Update: Tuesday March 3, 2020 Tokyo time: 12:30 pm

First I'd again like to say thanks to everyone who has read my post of events here is Japan. But recently I made a post and I screwed up big time. Although there is a lot of truth to what I posted. I now want to say about the one about the laundrymats, about staying in warm at night to keep warm. Actually, this is a real possibility. Reason of my thoughts was if people don't pay them bills, the companies here don't mess around, and in many cases if you lose your account, you'll have to have a gaurantor (sp) to re-sign up a new account. So many young people actually crash out at the 24 hour manga/internet cafes here and if they shut the doors, where do you think they'll go. As far as I we don't have homeless shelters like you have in America.

Update:

Hokkaido is now cleaning the subways with disinfectants hoping this will help stop the spread of the virus. Fact is, the prefecture would have a difficult time running the city without the trains and subways.

this is a little street talk:
1. bicycles may come in short after the new school break (currently no sign of shortage)
2. those that work in the Pachinko line of employment, well, right now every Pachinko place is closed

so the moral of the above street talk is: if you are in the bike business, well... and if you are employed in the American casino business...

Welp. GG. Best I have is the P100's but those aren't powered. Probably couldn't make it to the doorway in that before my lungs imploded.

I have a client who is a rep for a blood testing company in South Florida. She is in and out of Doctors offices, hospitals etc.

I shared my concern with her and she laughed when I told her I bought a 50LB bag of rice and a bunch of other items.

She has tremendous faith in the medical system and the CDC and she doesn't even think this will be a pandemic. She is very analytical as am I but we seem to be on two different ends of the spectrum.

Another client is a dentist and he feels similar. Have a Neuro surgeon client in Orlando who I havent been able to chat with and high ranking official for the St Louis FD who I also reached out to get their scoop on it.

Needless to say I love them all all but I really dont want to be within 20 feet of any of them right now.
