Masks work. Having lived in China for more than a decade I can safely say the CCP wouldn’t be arresting people on the street for not having a mask if they didn’t work.

South Korea reports 477 new cases of #CoronaVirus and 6 new deaths, raising total to 4,812 cases and 34 dead (BNO News)

Wondering if South Korea has better health care than Italy, seems they do because their CFR is lower.

Something is up and feels wrong, get some protection this advice is downright stupid

Economic triage.

Masks work, but there aren't enough of them for all of us, so the priority will be hoarding them for healthcare workers, police, fire and military.

Of course masks help. They might not prevent everything - but they can provide up to 5 times the protection than if you don't have a mask. Advice to not wear a mask is ridiculous.

If you can try to buy something like this. I bought these at the hospital. Patients and most staff wear this type of masks.

I just got home from work, switched on the tv, and was preparing my lunch when Fox news said SIX deaths and EIGHTY confirmed cases. Did I hear that right?

What happened while I was away? Is this true? Haven't had a chance to go back a dozen pages to find out yet..

I"m also in TX.. I went to the store and came home to that news. I was like SERIOUSLY, I just went to the store and I come home to all kinds of new crazy news. I was only gone for an hour. HEB wasn't that busy but I took pics of some of the shelves. Kinda made me laugh at some of the things being bought.

Bleach Lysol spray, toilet paper and liquor. The mainstays of life.

The wife and I went to Walmart on Saturday and they were completely out of bleach. All the Lysol was gone except for maybe 1 case of the off brand and no hand sanitizer to be found. Last Friday I noticed at work they had stepped up the hand sanatizer game. Its out in force at every turn. Still doesn't change the fact I watch customers leave the bathroom stalls and walk right out without washing their hands. I then see them out touching the soda machine/cups/staws and then the slot machines. GROSS and RUDE

Feb. 1st I bought a box of 10- 3m n95 face masks expecting a run on them. I should have bought more.

I was also picking up a couple of boxes of 10 surgical face masks similar of what you have in the pic. I believe I have 4 or 5 boxes of those.

I simply did not have hoarding in mind. I have a family of 5 and I figured I needed a little amount to get us through should we need them. I feel that if it gets bad enough, I still don't have enough.

It is what it is. Every single hardware store, pharmacy, or any other place that carries n95 masks are all sold out.

Bit of a heads up.. you can be detained if you show symptoms.

Australians could be held by medical authorities if they show symptoms of coronavirus, Attorney-General Christian Porter has said.

He said the powers used to detain people at airports could also be used elsewhere as the government moves to respond to the threat from the virus.

“It’s very likely that these laws will get used on a larger scale,” Mr Porter told ABC Radio National. “And it’s very likely that Australians will encounter practices and instructions and circumstances that they have not had to encounter before.”

also, no more shaking hands.

NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard has suggested Australians think twice before shaking hands or kissing as the first human-to-human transmission of coronavirus inside Australia is confirmed.

The 2020 APS March meeting canceled in Denver

The March gathering is one of the most important annual physics events, with talks and presentations covering nearly all of physics.

Neither the World Health Organization nor the U.S. Centers for Disease Control have recommended canceling the gathering. However, the ambiguity and lack of information regarding the virus has led organizers of the event to cancel anyway.

Thank you for all your updates from the start MIM. Your' regular and clear reports have helped countless people in getting ready for this event, myself included. This appears to spread really fast, be relaxed and ready. This hit my area hard and fast just today. Looks like eveyone on the planet is in for a ride. reply to: musicismagic
