Crap... Getting close to home now.

Cant believe flights haven't been cancelled in and out of the UK yet.

But I think it's too late anyway, it's already here and could explode over the next couple weeks like Italy has.

People are still travelling around thinking it's a great idea.

There was a group of 15 Colombians living in Wuhan. Originally our country was going to organize a flight along Costa Rica and Panama to pick them some 3 or 4 weeks ago. This never came to fruition. For many weeks they were trapped over there and couldn't leave as the Chinese goverment would not allow. Finally they were given permission a week ago.
A military plane left Colombia last February 22th, departing to Wuhan and making stops in:
1) Illinois 2) Alaska 3) Seoul and on the way back: 1) Mumbai 2) Seville.

On their way from Alaska to Seoul they received news that the virus was now hitting SK in a drastic way. Nevertheless, they didn't cancel their stop there and continued with the original plan. Then something happened and they stopped in Seoul for 48 hours more than they were supposed to. Meanwhile the Colombians that were waiting in Wuhan's airport had to wait all those 48 hours out there.


The airplane finally arrived in Wuhan a couple of hours ago. According to the goverment, each single passenger will have a "test" before they are allowed to come in. I wonder what kind of "test" will that be? Considering how sloppy they are, I think this story will be a worthy competitor for Diamond Princess'.

There are now 15 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus related to travel or close contact to travelers in the United States, according to US Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar.

“As of this morning, we still had only 14 cases of the novel coronavirus detected in the United States involved travel to or close contacts with travelers. Coming into this hearing, I was informed that we have a 15th confirmed case, the epidemiology of which we are still discerning,” Azar said.  

Azar said there are also three cases among Americans repatriated from Wuhan and 42 cases are evacuees from the Diamond Princess, bringing the total to 60 U.S. cases.

So here is thing....there are literally already HUNDREDS of people infected with coronavirus in the USA.

This is a fact.

The CDC should have started testing along time ago... they know this as a fact and will limit the amount of testing to decrease the potential of mass panic

Apparently the funding went from 2.5 billion to 8.5 billion since this morning.

True words no testing I bet there is a hell of a lot of people having it but since there is no testing we don't know . I bet when the do start testing it will rise considerable . a reply to: celltypespecific

US Numbers and Sourcing

I created this since every report doesn't have all info so lots of sourcing was needed. I will continue to update it.

If the US numbers are to be believed, then every current case of Coronavirus within the United States presently is the direct fault of the US government's ridiculous blunder to bring people from hot zones back into the United States. They screwed up big time on this. If/when this disease takes hold inside the USA, it will be the direct blame of bleeding heart tomfoolery being held in higher esteem than common sense.

I bet tonight's speech will be BS... stocks/economy may be Trump's achilles heal. If he downplays the seriousness of this outbreak tonight to try to help markets then he will likely fall on his sword when the truth comes out and it truly does affect our domestic economy in a bigger way

Not trying to make this political, just looking at Trump's history and in times like this we need leaders who are not afraid to tell it like it is to help raise awareness. In many other ways Trump might "tell it like it is" but not if stocks are part of the discussion IMO

I'm hearing staff that were sent home from Canary Wharf London (due to suspected case), were sent home on the tube.

Some ludicrous mistakes have been made throughout this whole mess. So much so that it makes the conspiracy theorist inside me scream "it is all planned!".

But whatever the truth, if this thing does turn out to put a massive dent in the population, I think we as a race will feature pretty highly on the Intergalactic Darwin Awards, watched by 20 sextillion green and grey men/women/other everywhere.

To do what? Just throw money at an illdefined problem they don't know how to address. The money will go to consultants and evaluators. State and counties won't be able to hire staff timely if people to hire are available. They will quickly create a data collection system only to realize it is not compatible with anything else and ends up not collecting what they need. I could go on but not optimistic that wasting this money will accomplish anything for a short term problem. Our tax dollars at work.

Not to sound like a broken record, but CNN (lol) is saying the press conference tonight is for them to announce their plans of action. CDC lady was added hours after.

I think Trump realizes he'll lose the election if this isn't handled correctly, we will see.

Aaand another case in the Canary Islands, a woman from La Gomera who had been in Italy between the 4th and 8th of February.

Just how many cases are there in Italy?!

Jan 30th 2020 HHS Secretary Alex Azar declared a nationwide public health emergency.
Feb 2nd 2020 Any U.S. citizen returning to the United States who was in Hubei Province in the previous 14 days was/is subject to up to 14 days of mandatory quarantine.
Feb 2nd 2020 Any U.S. citizen returning to the United States who was in the rest of Mainland China within the previous 14 days was put through proactive entry health screening at a select number of ports of entry, and up to 14 days of monitored self-quarantine to ensure they had not contracted the virus and did not pose a public health risk.
Feb 2nd 2020 All foreign nationals, other than U.S. citizens and permanent residents, who traveled in China within the prior 14 days were denied entry into the United States. The temporary entry ban continues through today.
