Interesting piece of information I just stumbled on. The cdc has only tested a whopping 414 patients in the United States so far.

SOURCE

I think we need to be calm, and prepared my guess is March, at the beginning for the markets to reflect the Far East, also a MASSIVE spike infections, I would suspect the cdc or WHO will announce the virus, a pandemic right before the massive spike. The only reason it’s gonna be a massive spike, is because of the unreported reports.

Here is the junior high school that closed:
Closed until next month in junior high school due to new virus student infection Kanazawa. It was confirmed on 22nd that a junior high school student living in Ishikawa Prefecture was infected with the new coronavirus, and the junior high school in Kanazawa

There appear to be multiple schools being closed.
www3.nhk.or.jp...
TRANSLATION PER GOOGLE TRANSLATE:

Two women in Chiba Prefecture, including teachers in their 60s who work for junior high schools in Chiba City, have been newly confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus.
According to Chiba Prefecture and Chiba City, a female teacher visited a medical institution in the prefecture on the 12th of this month for nausea.

Coughs began to appear on the 18th, so he left school early on the following day, 19, and went to a medical institution again to find symptoms of pneumonia.

In addition, there was fever of 38 degrees 5 minutes and was admitted to another medical institution, but symptom did not improve and, as a result of examination on 21st, infection to new coronavirus was confirmed. The woman is currently hospitalized.

Chiba City decided to temporarily close this junior high school on the 25th and 26th of this month, saying that the woman worked 5 days a week from 13 to 19 days after the onset.

and further down:

In response to this, Mayor To#o Kumagai of Chiba City held a conference on March 22 to investigate the past fever situation of teachers and staff of all elementary and junior high schools in the city, and thoroughly implemented measures to protect the health of students and children. I showed my idea.

Among them, Mayor Kumagai sent an email to parents on the night of the 21st, regarding the junior high school at work, to refrain from going out of hurry to about 580 students, and two days on the 25th and 26th of this month , The school will be closed.

In the future, he said, "In addition to disinfecting schools, we would like to conduct health observations of close contacts and listen to the opinions of experts, and consider ways to respond."

Obviously the "March 22" in the above is either a typo or a mistranslation by Google.

Chiba and Kanazawa look to be on opposite sides of the island from each other, so I assume this is a totally different case than the one you're referencing, ya?

Yes, far from each other. Chiba is where Disneyland is also, not sure if it opened for the 3 day holiday.
Things are coming in pretty fast now, even though its Sunday, can't believe how fast things are being reported.

I was just wondering if it crossed anyone else's mind, how covenant it would be for our government to have extra special forces in the city's if this corona virus gets loose and they have to declare marshal law like the city of Wuhan.

I haven't read anything about, I take credit for thinking out of the box.

Human's have a long history of coming together in times of crisis, we've survived much worse.

First we have to get through the bs of ignorant people thinking they are more important than everybody else. By this I mean that if it ever gets bad enough people are going to first display the animalistic side of themselves and take advantage of the humane people. Therefore I will not be subject to opening my doors to help people out.

Sorry, I'm just saying that people need to prepare for themselves and their family, but what I am finding is that most don't think it can happen here. Those will be the people that lose their humanity first.

I repeat, I am not preparing to die from a virus l. I am preparing to survive the economical crisis that will ensue from people not preparing.

6 months prepareness i think now one must do. And I live in a tame society .

Can that be right? In Canada, we are significantly smaller and have tested more than that in one province alone.

US population: 327 million
Canadian population: 37.5 million
Ontario population: 14.5 million
Ontario tests for virus to date: 486

I truly, am thinking they are now trying to buy time, now, containment seems out of the realm of possibility. There are H2H INFECTIONS not associated with the epicenter of the virus. We have multiple cases of the virus, THAT are being reported in multiple countries. Sadly money, politics and power come before the health of humanity. A sad reminder. I think our greatest concern will be the markets and the economy, with fears of a disease the mass population will panic, and panic hard over it. The economy effects I can try to forecast better than the societal effects, it will be negative but unknown to what effect, those in South Korea, hopefully they heard and were prepared not sure how the shelves in the grocery stores look right now I am not there but I am sure grocery stores have been busy,

I honestly don't think there is really any way to prep for this for some of us.

If I store up food, it makes the assumption I can stay in my house without having to leave. It assumes we will not have to leave, because if we do, we will only be able to take so much. If we have to leaves and I stored up gas, we'd have to take that, cause we couldn't be sure we'd get gas, but where would we go anyhow?

If things get so bad and they start shutting down schools and grocery stores and telling people to stay home, having masks and gloves and all that jazz will be pointless since you won't be going anywhere. But once people start running out of food, they will start going on looting raids to get food and then you have to start shooting people that want to get in your house for food. But if 20 people show up at my house, all with guns and start shooting my family and I, I don't think we will have the force to counter them.

When a person "Preps" it just seems like there as so many assumptions being made, both in what will happen and how it will play out, but there are so many wild cards.

Honestly, I think being dead would be better than trying to survive a worst case scenario. Am I the only one that thinks this?

I cant, once upon a time in my life I struggled with depression then I found that something and since then I will fight until the bitter end.

Once I made that link fighting is the only way forward no matter what... yea I realize how bombastic that sounds but its the only way I can describe it.

Meh it’s easy to think that maybe, until you are confronted with death. Most humans have an instinct to survive. I don’t see this getting that bad, where anarchy enfolds, that’s the good news. Being prepared has to do with the panic and run on water supplies, gas food etc.

you kind of scared me too! lol

According to the article: "Among the agents being deployed to sanctuary cities are members of the elite tactical unit known as BORTAC, which acts essentially as the SWAT team of the Border Patrol. With additional gear such as stun grenades and enhanced Special Forces-type training, including sniper certification, the officers typically conduct high-risk operations targeting individuals who are known to be violent, many of them with extensive criminal records."

WOW! They sound pretty bad-a#$!! As most elite special forces are.

And here is what the article also says: "In sanctuary cities, the BORTAC agents will be asked to support interior officers in run-of-the-mill immigration arrests, the officials said."

"Their presence could spark new fear in immigrant communities..."

Are they kidding? Elite commandos will be used to scare people by just being around? Used as support for run-of the-mill arrests? Is that the equivalent of organizing the file cabinets for those agents? Maybe I am clueless on it all. who knows.

note: I read again, and I see where they are only deploying 100 agents. Whew* Hope that's all they send!

It came does come from across the seas
Somewhere from deep in a lab
No news nor social media would tease
Nor tell, yell, exclaim or blab

It came, does come from Old Wuhan
Not from market, pangolin, nor any bat,
Devised and cultured by “genius” man
It got out and that was that

It came does come by ship and by plane
No government agency nor religion could stop it
Panic, fear, and hunger swept, only adding to the pain
Too late to cry over spilt milk, just try and mop it

It came, does come lest there be “Bad Optics”
Please people learn to Live and Love again
It wasn’t Ebola from The Tropics
Great effort and tribulation occurred before we got a win

It came, does come to teach Humankind a lesson
All told it’s just a little shared ball of rock and blue
Learn to appreciate the laws with which we are a’messin
Learn to appreciate your family, friends, and You

Yep, and if you have children. Even more of reason to keep fighting.

I always assumed they would use mercenaries (sorry, we call them "private military contractors" now), like they did during Katrina..

I don't think we're talking about a total breakdown of society with this. It might be close, but I don't think we'll get there.

I think if things like the water and power keep running, there will be enough normalcy to keep people more or less in line.
