A "group"? I think you mean a majority of the voting public in the UK.

The deal is done fair dos its time to go full on into Brexit now. That vote sealed Britains independence from the EU and that needs acting on, we just need free trade with the continentals and then it is all good

the referendum is done , the "deal" is far from done !

that's the problem , the government totally dropped the ball on brexit
the party that used their propaganda to push it through now we have May trying to broker a deal for something she didnt want for Britain , but now passes it off like it was her idea the whole time !

I don't think that she is passing it off as her own idea, she is just rather stuck with it. Of course, it does not help that she is a dreadful PM.

As for the party thing pushing it through, there were plenty of senior Conservatives backing remain.

Looks like the EU is intent on punishing us for daring to leave, and setting an example to other countries who might be thinking about it. They can get stuffed.

Yeah totally true, there is loads to play with on the deal who lnows where it gonna end up. As a remainer and pro EU person you still have to accept the will of the people and the majority dowant out of the EU so we have to make the best of it, just pray the Tories can do a go deal on trade, that is what the EU was meant to be about and whey it was so attractive to have barrier less trade. We must keep that in some manner, if that can be done I hope all former remainers can get begind Brexit as nothing else from the old EU matters really, just beuracracy which after a few years to thik about it being honest and realistic we will be glad of being freed from. A European Free Trade Area is all that counts but that's just my view but we must get behind forming Brexit now as that is what the BRitish people desire

I keep hearing this claim, how exactly is the EU punishing us?

The options for the UK post brexit are the same as for other non EU countries. If that is punishment then it's one we have inflicted on ourself.

Do you think that the EU are being entirely fair and reasonable then? I must have missed that.

If the UK leaves the EU then the UK will be treated as a non member of the EU. Not sure how that is punishing the UK as claimed?

They have made it pretty plain really:

UK Should be punished for leaving EU as an Example to others

From an article 5 months before the referendum about a discussion not organised by the EU and not involving any current decision makers.

How is that the EU punishing the UK?

Comments made by former EU Ministers including 2 former PM's. Do you not get the general idea?

Key word being former.

Also written before the referendum and not anything to do with the EU.

Finally the punish is in the headline, not the actual quotes.

In what actual way is the EU punishing the UK?

I believe we should really be focusing our attention on this

Gov UK Legislation changes 2018

when we are all too busy paying attention to the media fallout for brexit
we aren't paying attention to the fine writing the small details

What is being changed when we are all buys arguing over immigration , money and scottish indy

Only because you haven't seen or heard it (or you probably have but you are so entrenched in your EU-loving mentality, that you consciously or unconsciously ignore it)!

But here you go...
The EU did have a 'punishment plan'...
news.sky.com...

Even the massive Remainer Chuka Umunna has critised the EU for coming up with that plan, and his quote...
"a transition period was beginning to look less like building a bridge and more like being made to walk the plank".

So what excuses do you have now?

The onus is on those making the claim to provide the evidence. In this case that the EU is punishing the UK.

Again it looks like the headline has little to do with EU actually ' punishing' the UK. The EU taking steps to protect itself during the transiton period isn't punishment it's common sense.

I don't have an EU loving mentality, what I find idiotic is the mentality of some leavers on this site who are so blinded by anti EU rhetoric that they come out brain dead assertions like that.

It's possible for rational people to have have different options. If you are too insecure to have your opinions challenged without resorting insults then the one with entrenched mentality is you.

I've now provided some of the evidence, yet you still deny it.

Hahaha, this is a joke right? Me making insults? What insults have I made?
If you go back this entire thread the vast majority of insults are from remoaners insulting Brexiteers...

No you provided a link that doesn't back up the claim being made.

And don't be a coward ,if you are going to try insulting people at least have the balls to own it.
