I've seen the good, the bad and the ugly in all this.
Sure, there are welfare hogs bent on spitting out kids for bigger assistance checks, that really cannot be denied.
Of course, we have bums. Folks that make minimum effort living minimal lives.
Then we have those who just are not as motivated or a bit slower than others.
I admit, if I spent more time concentrating on bettering myself I'd be richer but....
Anyway.
I've found that most of the "hate" directed at these people come from "christian" conservatives for some odd reason.

"The reality is that we love the poor. "

Unfortunately i think that's just Jesus, certainly the TPTB dont adopt such an attitude, nor the church for that matter.

"The keys I press as I type this were put in by poor kids.
The shirt I wear is made by poor kids."

Exactly, point of fact through 20-30 years down the line even those feeble jobs that essentially pay peanuts to the poor will become non existent down to robotics.

"When I want to SMS my friends about inequity I do it on a phone made by poor kids."

So poor people make the products that we use, whats you point considering they are still poor?

No, real poor people don't have food.
Or computers.

Poor people won't see this thread.

In a perfect world i suppose i would indeed agree.

Unfortunately this place is rather less conducive to ones existence to say the least.

Not quite sure what you're trying to say here.

Well, the poor dont just need money thrown at them. They need conversation with people who can help them. They need human contact outside of their circles. People.. they sometimes need more than one chance. Ive preached about this on here in threads and etc for years.. I gave up. For thinking people who congregated here ( and for the most part still do) they forget their humanity sometimes.
Im not at all good at empathy. I just dont feel it, sue me. BUT.. I know whats right and even if I dont feel it, I will always do whats right. I am much better off wealth wise than many. Its not prevented me from jumping off my pedestal and NOT throwing things at the poor to make myself feel good.. most never know I do the things I do.. but its right to do to speak with, help, give, try to form some sort of connection with the poor I decide to help.. my fellow countrymen. Im a horrible counselor.. folks would jump off bridges in masses if I was a psychiatrist or psychologist.. but I AM a human. You ARE humans, the poor ARE humans. We are creatures of comfort sometimes.. and the poor arent bad to want comforts too.

I am from the deep South.. I HATE the cold.. yet there we were.. my husband and I and later my oldest adult child.. in the local park ( the idiot mayor closed the homeless shelter because they refused to give nightly lists of who was there!) freezing to death.. speaking with, comforting some, yelling at others, and TEACHING the newly homeless how to survive and then move upward. Husband and I are nutty survivalist types.. so we give them the basics. A lot of men are living in the park while farming the wife ( sig other) and kids to family members.. its horrible that in this country this happens! This is the land of plenty for Gods sake. We printed out hand outs with plans for shelter and heat ( rocket stove and etc..) and where to get food.. etc. Along with that we have given our number to a few if they need assistance getting JOBS. Those are the ones I keep close with. Mental illness and emotional ilness are the largest problems concerning the poor and homeless. Like the rich.. there are plenty of mentally and emotionally ill. These days the amounts of kids that are homeless is SHOCKING. Our future is living on the streets due to crap parents and bad choices and familial abuse.. you name it.

I am where I am due to who gave birth to me, who raised me to be the asshole driven maniac I am, and my own choices are why Iam where I am. It was a simple quirk of fate I wasnt born on Rez and in that mindset and living in the deplorable way making the deplorable choices my family members and friends have. It was ONLY fate.. luck.. and not sick arrogance thinking my choices and my position in life is all my doing. Its not.. its a perfect storm of circumstances. MANY of the poor are caught in their own perfect storm of circumstances.

The others.. the useless lazy eaters.. let them starve. They wont of course, but they need to hit that lowly place where they CHOOSE to change things. Chances.. human beings need more than one.. thats for sure.

It's an imperfect world, and you still agree because you said most.
Conductivity is irrelevant

Im looking for your point?

What part don't you understand?

Essentially i am asking how we expect the poor to survive on peanuts while others exist in luxury down to them being nothing more than indentured servants really.

How can i agree with what you fail to understand?

That being the world is rather more than imperfect, point of fact is geared toward the majority failing so the minority can keep the status quo in place.

Like i said you need to remove those rose coloured glasses.

I'm sure the PTB/1% love this thread.
Let's all spit on the poor while were at it. And kick them for good measure.

OK, the world is geared towards the minority abusing the majority. I agree 100%

You can work towards being that minority however.
IF you're smart enough, or work hard enough.

No joke. Im pretty well heartless in many things, not exactly empathetic. For so many to be more heartless than me is scary.

I would not wish to be part of the minority.

I don't want more than i require to exist in a modicum of comfort.

As long as there is food in the fridge, electricity and the ability to communicate with others in a free environment im a happy bunny.

Possibly worth considering that working hard is not the main goal in life sometimes its nice to stop and smell those roses.

I have to ask this because I don't get it. How can you have a job, be making what I assume is good money, and not have good credit to get an apartment?

well ive gone through the entire thread and have yet to see anyone say they dont like poor people. everyone so far has been pointing out lazy people who abuse the system as the main problem, not being poor.

show me one example where thats ever been true. i know wed all like to believe that a utopia should be possible but so far there has yet to be one successful attempt at that. id argue the reason why is human greed and its not just the 1%. theres plenty of greedy people who have no money.

In most nations throughout history, and even in the US wealth inequality was less than what it is now. No functional society has ever had an even distrubtion but a distribution where the bottom 50% own 10% of the wealth, and the top 10% own 30% isn't an unreasonable thing to ask for. Right now the top 10% own 70% and the bottom 50% own 0.5%.

previous bad choices. maybe didnt pay their utility bills on time, made a mistake with a credit card a time or two, etc. credit isnt something that magically is good once u have a job. you can dig the hole extremely easily but getting out of it is a whole different matter and can take years.

Let's not blame the 80 people that hoard over half of the world's wealth. Let's not blame companies that put profit before people. Let's not blame policies that perpetuate a troubled and dysfunctional educational system. No, the poor are just lazy. Let's round them all up.

Because some people suck at paying bills on time. In addition, the credit report may be reflecting a snap shot in the past under different circumstances.

For example, I have a client right now who got divorced last year. She is a Doctor. Ex-Husband didn't pay some credit cards like he was supposed to so she got dinged with some late payments. As a result, her FICO score got killed and now she is having a hard time getting a mortgage.

Credit score alone doesn't tell the whole picture. However, most landlords aren't going to hold a bad credit score against someone if they can show good income. I call BS on that story.

OK, keep virtue signalling about your concern for the poor whilst you only "need" an electrical grid, whitegoods and a telecommunications network.

How many satellites have you used in the last hour?
