I think he could have said it much better than he did. It's been pointed out why some of us think that. Not sure what the big issue is, frankly.

Because this will get twisted out of context and before Sunday is over, pundits will be saying that Trump wants to bring back Jim Crow, inter Muslims, and deny civil rights to everyone from women to gays.

Yeah post WW2 40s and 50s when the US got rid of its military. China was taken over by the communists and then invaded Tibet, the Arab Israeli wars began, Cuba was taken over by communists, the US and Soviets were propping up and launching coups across Central and South America, wars were breaking out all over the planet in the old colonies, Germany, Europe, Vietnam and Korea were all cut in half, and the US was so weak that North Korea invaded the South and the US forces Task Force Smith were driven to the brink of defeat. The US had the highest corporate tax rate in the World at 50%, income tax was much much higher with the top earner paying between 75 and 90%.

And how about a little thing called McCarthyism? Do not know what that was? Think of the Patriot Act but, many many times worse. The World was being over run by Soviet backed forces and the US was on the defensive every where.

Frankly people were so scared in 1950's that they make the fear of terrorism today look inconsequential in comparison.

Once again, you look at one part of the equation in parenthesis and think you have it solved. Every single major corporation knows exactly what needs to happen in order to be profitable again producing in the USA. Every single Federal Rep knows this. The problem is, is that the replacement industries, namely the legal and incarceration industries , contribute the lion's share to the reps that matter now. An economic upturn reduces crime, reduces incarceration, reduces need for things like prisons and prison guards and cops and LAWYERS. Guess which profession most members of the government are? Yep, lawyers. Guess who their pals are,,,other freaking lawyers. This whole scene is one big scam

Uh...what about the trade deals that our 'government ' made that basically screwed us all? It's really simple...terminate those deals, tarriff imports, heavily tax overseas labor, and watch those industries return

It's not quite that simple...
Your hoping that these mega companies worth somewhere in the multi billions are going to be seduced by lower corporate tax. Some might.

Then stomping down on a major source of their labor by implementing heavy taxes and returning to tariffs?
You then expect them not to only return most of the blue collar and white collar jobs back to the U.S, you want increase pay,benefits,health insurance,retirement benefits,vacation days all this and more that a young Philippino women and Chinese kid could do for far less than that.

These companies will take the financial burden of levied taxes and continue with out sourcing labor.
It simply isn't worth the time or money to bring them back.
