Agreed.
back in the 50's most families had a stay-at-home mother. One income was good for the family. I don't think Trump plans on reversing civil rights or making gas 10 cents a gallon.
I think Trump is looking at having jobs in America again that pay 60, 70, 80 thousand a year. Not perpetuating a service industry and having a country of bag boys and barristas.

In the 50's there was more manufacturing in America. there were more companies and plants and jobs in America.
While the Bernie supporters and socialists cry for higher minimum wage, others are looking at bring back companies and jobs that paid 60, 70, 80 thousand a year.
But please, ignore a 80 thousand/ year job but be proud that some day, you'll be making 14.50/hour.

Ah, the politics of division. You can't just say that the USA was doing pretty damn good back then, but we could have done a lot better for EVERYBODY. You have to divide us along racial and sexual lines. gotcha
Except for Illinois, which decriminalized sodomy in 1961, at the time of the Stonewall riots, every other state criminalized homosexual acts, even between consenting adults acting in private homes. "An adult convicted of the crime of having sex with another consenting adult in the privacy of his or her home could get anywhere from a light fine to five, ten, or twenty years—or even life—in prison. In 1971, twenty states had 'sex psychopath' laws that permitted the detaining of homosexuals for that reason alone. In Pennsylvania and California sex offenders could be committed to a psychiatric institution for life, and [in] seven states they could be castrated." (Carter, p. 15) Through the 1950s and 1960s, castration, emetics, hypnosis, electroshock therapy, and lobotomies were used by psychiatrists to try to "cure" homosexuals. (Katz, pp. 181–197.) (Adam, p. 60.)

Please tell me how to convince a private company to bring manufacturing back to the USA?
And no, lowering corporate taxes won't bring them back to the USA when their labor costs go up 10 times. What incentive does a company have to "bring jobs back to the USA" when someone in China will do the same job for $1/hr compared to an American who wants at least $10/hr? [/quote

Simple...we are the biggest consumers in the world. Our consumerism will make or break a company. We make them an offer that they can't refuse...come back home or lose us as a customeredit on 27-3-2016 by Arizonaguy because: (no reason given)

Not just that -- if you were gay back then and open about it?

Let's not forget that segregation was real and thriving, women hardly had a place in the workforce post WWII, being openly gay was practically a death sentence, and interracial marriage wasn't going to be legal until 1967.
I'd like to ask all those pro-Trump people one question:
Would you rather be a woman, black, or any other minority in 1955....or 2015? Which year would you rather live in as one of those people?
That's it, short and simple.
