It looks like the Ferguson police worked all day to keep media coverage to a minimum. Apparently even CNN couldn't get close to the protests. All we have -- it seems -- are tweets, vines, and instagrams from people and reporters on the scene.

No, just twitter and the police scanner. its a media lockout. no press at all. only cell phones.

That is so crazy!!!

So when it's a war in the middle east we get 24/7 coverage, play by play reporting, reporters imbedded with the troops and can even watch rockets as they fly down some poor bastards stove pipe into his living room. But one town here in the US and the only media coverage is civilians and their cell phones huh?!?!? Yep, nothing weird about that. Can't imagine why nobody seems to trust Law Enforcement anymore.

Anyone still second guessing a NWO Nazi style Amerika in the making???

I took this pic this past Sat. driving home from my little rural mountain farmers' Market. A convoy of 12 of them. I stopped to let them pass me, so counted them. First 3 were matte black and about twice the size of the ones behind them, and had approx 5ft satellite dishes affixed to the fronts. Narrow tiny windows on the sides. Saw men inside in full camo with helmets on. Sorry for pic quality, I was driving in the rain.



Why are these types of vehicles and even MRAPS being given to podunk 3 man Sheriff departments up here on top of the mountain?

We live in a Zero Tolerant society, submit and obey or be punished. This means cops can tazer 8 year old girls, or 90 year old men in nursing homes. You will submit or be choked out for misdemeanor crimes or no crimes at all. Our prison system is a growth industry at a time when we are at a 40 year low in crime. But they won't let that stop the system.

The FBI, all the shooting the FBI has been involved with in the last 10 years has all been justified, and now they will investigate this indecent. How can the have a 100% honest shooting rate?

The war on terror armed them and supplied them with this equipment. When they train who are the people? The citizens? Or do we all just play the role of terrorists?

I've seen a similar movement here in Iowa over the last few weeks, traveling the I35 corridor recently and in surrounding states.

It may be of concern or it may be nothing at all, considering recent deployments I am concerned nonetheless.

FWIW...I never stopped watching the twitter and local public radio feeds. If anyone else did, it's gotten very busy again. Conflicting reports...and cops seem confused as much as anything to where everyone went and which scene to go to first but a lot happening with more tear gas used among other things.

So you're saying it had actual men inside it too??? As in loaded up with a team of guys not just drivers???

Are you certain they were even going to the Sheriff???

I know they are sending "surplus military hardware" to local PD's but I've never heard of them coming stocked with there very own soldiers too.

Could it have been "Private Contractors"???

Still, what they're doing there I don't think is anything on the Humanitarian Side of things.

The only reason I saw one of the men kinda close, he put his helmet up against the window and gave me a thumbs up for pulling over and letting them all pass together. I did see helmeted men in the backs of other ones in the convoy too.

I haven't a clue if they are military or what.

I don't think its over kill. If I was a policeman tasked with restoring order in a town where there is a mob of angry people saying, "kill the police", I'd be dressed like this too.

Not trying to justify the cop that started this all's actions or anything. But, these people need to calm down. The cop needs to face trial, and if guilty of murder, they should hang him on the court house steps. These people need to calm down.
