Tweets on FergusonRiot are being moderated back off as fast as some are going up. If what has appeared to immediately disappear is accurate though (and I've probably only caught 50% of them) then the police are running a big operation that won't take long, but they will be absolutely determined to do it, too. 100% absolute to get it done. Hopefully protesters take an hour break or something.

The news will carry the rest when they're done if it isn't all over sooner...

I guess he didn't know that it has a drawer he could have opened and just took the money out?

Cash register is a trophy! Or to convince his buddies he really did it. Darwin candidate for sure...

I think if the cops want to place dress up, we should pass a law saying that they have to dress like real sheriffs and marshals, in dusters, cowboy hats and boots. They only get six-shots and double-barrels and horses. That's all you really need anyway.

No but for real though, uh, do those people need in Ferguson need help? That dude in the pictures could be the MMA gas station clerk from last month and he's still going to lose that fight.

For what it's worth, reports appear mixed and very fragmented. Even contradictory, depending on source. This is St Louis Public Radio with a live feed and a couple small vid windows saying police let some people go and then left the area. Not sure which specific area, or if they were responding to what other sources report as alerts in other areas at about this same time.

The thing I can't understand is why when someone has a beef with the "man" they opt to burn down, Rob or beat thier neighbors. Other than taking the fight to where it needs to be. If any of these so called "protesters" had any concerns for the plight that has been forced on them they would be at the police station, city hall or some other government building protesting. Not jacking up the QT for smokes and a 40.

I don't agree with the militarization of Leo's but if they "protesters" run around acting like animals burning, robbing and looting treat them like animals.

Hi Des,

The price we all pay when the actions of authority do not represent justice and service is this. It's been in the police department's hands, and I don't mean their weapons, to be open and honest and perform a thorough review. In all the reports I have read tonight, the authorities have failed miserably.

When you lead by lawlessness and violence, whether as a country a city or an officer thereof, the citizens will follow suit and those wanting to capitalize on tragedy will swoop in like a hostile stock takeover by Enron and rob you blind. Create an environment of lawlessness and they will come.

If they want peace, investigators better start leading with the right foot first. Mugshots of looters are out and available. Autopsy results. Withheld. Name of shooter. Withheld. Interviews with witnesses. Not done.

How can they be so blind not to predict the course obfuscation leads down? Have they learned so little? People are going to get angry and protest when you cover up facts in plain sight. We've seen this before. They are escalating this situation (the officials) by ignoring protocols and procedures. I hope they make better steps soon. What is possibly coming nobody wants to see.

Tragic.

Peace Des, but not by submission to an authority acting unjustly. I pray that tomorrow authorities take the steps necessary to build a bridge through openness. This cover up must end.

I appreciate all you bring to any topic. Sometimes when we disagree on a point, we learn the most. This is tough. Really tough.

I'll reply to what you've said.

My understanding is that Ferguson is now about 93% African American. Years ago, this wasn't the case, but that hardly matters now. What's important about that figure, is the council that serves that neighborhood district, is still all white, which likely means the officers servicing the area are also predominantly white.

This schism is very important, historically, to urban environments. When the populus isn't represented by the majority ethnicity, we see these situation erupt eventually, no matter what. It becomes a "No justice, no peace," environment, ripe for shootings in the back of unarmed citizenry, because frankly, LE are scared, intimidated, and right within their limits to be so.

That's my take on this, anyhow.

I feel bad for these folks even if they are looters or not this is just over kill

This is disconcerting for everyone.

SO, give us your take on this situation.

What do you think about what is happening? I have a friend in the area, and while I'm hesitant to post his comments on ATS, it does not look good.

I too, am dismayed at the lack of transparency by the LEO. In trying to stall for time in hopes of covering someone's butt, they helped create this mess of a magnet to the criminal element of the community, and outside areas, swooping in like vultures to pick the carcass.

I fear if the autopsy report shows the officer drained his gun of bullets into Mike Brown, and in the back to boot. All hell will break loose, and make the last 3 nights look like a carnival in comparison.

From everything I've been able to find. Brown has no history of criminal activity ever...not even in school. Clean record across the board. It's going to be hard to buy the cops story that Brown tried to reach into the driver's side window of the cop car, and take his gun from him.
