I would argue that the Rich capilalist creates as strong economy through job creation, innovation, and societal progress. As opposed to the socialist which sucks up all the resources for thier own personal gain and creates poverty and a dependant society!!!!

I would argue they are both corrupt, and you will still have the elitist one percent either way, you really ought to think outside the republican democrat box!!!

why would you assume that? my country is the very same premiss.
voting doesnt matter. and anyone who thinks it does it deeply confused about how "democracy" works.
it is who COUNTS the votes that matters.

I used to be liberal/progressive a few years ago till I realised what a horrible scam it all was. Promises here and promises there, nothing but hot air. All the laws enforced on the middle class and upper middle class to suck them dry to give to the poor and lazy. That means only super wealth and poor classes develop. The really rich exclude themselves from sharing resources with everyone else.

What the heck happened to job creation in this country? Why are all the good jobs leaving usa for asia? Everyone is going to end up on food stamps and ACA which will absolutely clobber small and medium size business.

Corporatism is killing this nation and the left wants it!

I would for sure agree with your post, I would have to go with the lesser of two evils in this case. I agree capitolism breeds greed. However, in a capitolistic environment people really have a better chance to succeed than they do in a socialistic envoirnment wouldnt you agree?

Exit I agree elections can be as corrupt as the candidates in them. And yes votes can be counted one way or the other. I am not placeing my faith unconditionally by any stretch....but voteing by the population is the best way for any government to place its leaders. I know you will again say it doesnt matter and we will agree to disagree. But I would rather be in a voting society then be in a society such as China, or North Korea were the population doesnt and cant even voice an opinion about who they feel is best to lead.

Is Homer John Boehner?

I do not believe he is. Seeing his pictures, he looks nothing like that sobbing, blubbering moron. So what are you talking about? You are arguing about Homer asking what choice he has....but you have not expressed how Homer is wrong. Only your own displeasure with the government.

Yes, the GOP sucks elephant ass. But don't for one minute think that the sucking is only coming from their side of the aisle. Its all on all of them.

it is from one side...every since 2010, it has been publicly stated by the republicans, that they want to shut down the government if Obamacare is not done away with. in 2011, the market dropped aprox. 20%, days before another debt default took place, also threatened by the republicans....this year the (sequestered) budget which was a REPUBLICAN plan was passed, BUT NOW, the republicans say they need more cuts from Obama before agreeing to THEIR OWN SEQUESTERED BUDGET(which by the way has eliminated tens of thousands of jobs)....I don't know why democrats are so pussified to stand up to the republicans...the republicans are only interested in helping the wealthy, and tearing down or repealing anything that would help the rest. the republicans in the house and senate have already said THIS WEEK!! that they are going after medicare and social security next...there is no talk about creating jobs, increasing wages to offset rising food, housing, and energy prices, appropriating money for crumbling infrastructure projects across the nation. to them, for everybody but the wealthy, it's all about taking away, doing without, keeping less, earning less, no relief , no help.....the republicans are working against the bottom 95% of americans, not for them. am I partisan?, you're damn right I am, and proud of it.

Well in an ideal world I would agree but if you have money you can afford the socialist things, and I believe less government the better, but either way you have a crap economy right now, jobs are being advertised that don't really exist as posted in another ats thread, the minimum wage hardly affords anything, and a lot of things would need to change either way don't you think?

The real issue is that there is croney capitalism at play here. Big business has been getting a free ride on the tax payers for quite a while. That is what quantative easing bullcrap is/was. At least 5 trillion with nothing to show for it.

When government steps in to bailout business, like they constantly do, this destroys the free market which is about supply and demand. It boosts both artificially rather than naturally. If we are going to have capitalism all these bailouts need to stop, let big business fail if it deserves to fail. This way medium size business can grow up and compete with the big boys. Small business can theoretically become medium size business.

And something needs to be done with outsourcing to deal with the horrible trade deficits with china now for 30 years and counting. Romney mentioned tariffs but it was forgotten. We need job growth to take people off welfare, to grow our GDP and pay off our freakin debt. Otherwise this nation WILL collapse!

Socialism doesnt work well for america. heck it doesnt even work well with russia or china anymore. Its outdated, dangerous, counterproductive.

I think you make a great point, the left has for sure been Hijacked by teh socialist point of view. Not sure when that happened. The democratic party at one time was a great party, had some great leaders JFK to name one. However, back on topic I dont trust any of them really. I just feel the conservative, constitutionalist point of view is the best way to remake America. Obama, is only doing the bidding of the Elite that controls him. You see America is the last domino on earth. We are the last country which has rights persay, we have the right to bare arms, we have right to free speech, we have the right to do pretty much anything we want with in the Laws we have passed. Never before have we seen a more open grab for our rights than we are seeing right now. Government is going after our guns, our free speech and they are putting more and more restrictions on our freedom and liberty. TO control the people you must first control how they live. The more entilements we have the more people they control. This debt cieling and budget empasse going on right now IMO is a battle against futhuer government control. Time to take a stand!!!!

I can guarantee that if you come to west Texas today, you could have a job tomorrow.

There is work. Just not in the centers of urban decay on the coasts of America.

I'm of the belief that nationalism & patriotism are self-destructive mindsets promoting cult-ish behaviors & quiet hatred & intolerance (a couple of examples of that on this thread from the pro-flag pearl-clutchers having fits over upside down flags & showing legal & historical ignorance as to WHY) In my eyes, any given flag is a rectangular patterned cloth of dyed fibers, and it holds no more worth than it is given by those who look at it, in any country on Earth.

That said, if you have a flag, do what you want with it. You're either going to make an impression or not. You're either going to offend those who don't know that upside down flags are legitimate symbols, and you may have the opportunity of educating them. Or, you're going to speak to those who do understand that meaning. They may or may not agree that it's warranted. There's also those like me who don't think it's going to amount to much beyond a short-lived fad, much like organization or event-specific bumper sticker support. You'll either get a thumbs up & support of your freedom to do so (you have mine) or you'll get a collective "Meh".

The point is, never mind anyone else. Fly those colors upside down & rock on, Homer.

Yes. I agree.

What's more with all this IMO; In a way, even while in anger, we are telling the political minions during this that we "need" them because we can't do anything ourselves really.

In a way we are playing to the external savior myth even if we think we are being angry at them or laughing at them - we look to them, via participating in the red versus blue war, to "save" or "do" something so we don't have to.

I honestly don't think that we are doing anything or behaving in any way that "they" are NOT anticipating - we're participating in it all by drawing lines in the sand and becoming more divided every day.

Well I will be honest with you. Unless tea party manages to take control of the republican party and run candidates like ted cruz and rand paul, I am going to vote third party. I think both parties are corrupt and democrats much more so.
