Today Baroness Margaret Thatcher died, she was a mother, a wife, a friend and to some a role model. She was also the former prime minister of the UK and many in this country actively hated her politics and polices.

And today she died in her old age of a stroke and then something else sad happened; the nasty people of ATS came out to spread their vulgar and disgusting remarks.[...ad nauseam]
Umm.. wahh? Boo-hoo?

Thatcher was a whore of the banksters just like Reagan and Bush. When someone uses the word "shame" to promote their opinion (ashamed counts as well) you can know that they are engaging in groupthink promotion.

YOU, YES YOU! Other side of the coin, eh? Would that be the side 'other' than denying ignorance? Perhaps promoting ignorance behind the facade of 'decency'? This woman has already had her comfort. Her deeds follow her in death, and she is suffering her own consequences. The people whose slaughter she ordered weren't so lucky in this world.

stop promoting groupthink on ATS, please.

I personally find it amusing that some posters on here condemn her for promoting greed and selfishness. In my opinion this just goes to show that they have absolutely no idea what she was about. Margaret Thatcher and her policies promoted self reliance. It's not compassionate to expect the state, and by extension the taxpayer to pay you to live.

you are right. it's up to the tax payers to pay for her funeral. even in death she is screwing people over

Never mind being ashamed to be a member of ATS, those pictures make me ashamed to be British.

It’s just sick, this is not what being British is about.

I am truly saddened by the inhumane behaviour of my fellow countrymen today.

The unions believed then that they held the power in this country. They thought they could trash the UK economy and bring down governments at will, it was all about far left power mongers flexing their muscles to get what they wanted and forget the democratic process. They lost and with them went the last chance to create their socialist utopia.

Today the unions are a busted flush. Nobody has sympathy for pay strikes by a bloated public sector when the economy is in the toilet. Nobody looks at Bob Crow sipping Bollinger and thinks there's the man for me. Now they use their puppet Ed Milliband to get them near real power. But think about it. Blair won by moving Labour right into the centre ground and the unions and those on the left hated him for it. Now Ed believes he is going to win by moving the public left towards his own ground. Back to the delusions of the far left we go.

So if Thatcher did anything she kept the idiocy of the far left at bay for 36 years and probably for ever.

Exactly - those people are the reason that this country is ruined - not Margaret Thatcher.
Their hypocrisy and lack of common decency is astounding.

Blair and Brown ruined millions of lives across Britain and the Middle East with their open door immigration attack on the working class and war. Not to mention their tax and spend spree that has probably sunk this economy. But hey, Thatcher stole your milk.

God Bless Mrs Thatcher for taking my milk. I hated the little warm bottles of milk, with cream on the top that we had to drink everyday, when I was little and at school.
I was so glad when it stopped !!!!!!!!!!!!

I was brought up on a dairy farm... There is no warmer and more horrible milk than that provided straight from the cow.

I'm so glad I wasn't the only one. To hear some people bleating on you'd think it was the only nutrition some kids received. It was warm and vile. It put me off drinking milk for a decade.

Concerning the "LOOK, THERE IS SUCH A THING AS SOCIETY" sign, I suppose it comes from this:

"I think we have gone through a period when too many children and people have been given to understand 'I have a problem, it is the Government’s job to cope with it!' or 'I have a problem, I will go and get a grant to cope with it!' 'I am homeless, the Government must house me!' and so they are casting their problems on society and who is society? There is no such thing! There are individual men and women and there are families and no government can do anything except through people and people look to themselves first… There is no such thing as society. There is living tapestry of men and women and people and the beauty of that tapestry and the quality of our lives will depend upon how much each of us is prepared to take responsibility for ourselves and each of us prepared to turn round and help by our own efforts those who are unfortunate."

Just heard on the news that there is already talk of the funeral next Wednesday costing around £8 million.

Now thats something to be ashamed of.

£8 million on someone who could easily afford a lavish funeral? £8 million at a time when everything and anything is being cut from every budget bar the MP's expenses?

THAT is a reason to be ashamed.

CX.

What makes me laugh is the fact that many who are dancing on her grave would vote in a donkey with a red rosette even when their beloved Labour presided over the biggest attack on the working class seen in my life. Labour opened the gates to the whole of Europe destroying the hopes and chances of working men and women across the land who found themselves unable to compete with Europeans often living on sub minimum wage. These weren't business men they fecked, no it was the poorest fella working in a warehouse or the plasterer who got screwed. Then their beloved Labour declared no more boom and bust! Well they got rid of boom...

Labour encouraged the City to take more risks, go wild they said when the tax was rolling in. Labour call you racist when you don't agree with immigration. Labour send a political enemy through the court three times and still lose, they then state that they will change the law to get him the fourth time.

Labour and particularly Ed Milliband are bought and paid for by people like Bob Crow who sit in Mayfair drinking champagne on £140,000 a year then drive home in their executive car to a council house because they are socialist and don't believe in owning property. Bed blocking... That idiot is blocking an entire house!

Could you imagine how knackered Britain would be now if Kinnock had won? This guy made claiming money from the EU a family business the grabbing nasty git.

Yes she hurt many working class. In a perfect world nobody gets hurt. But feck me what kind of country would we be living in if the unions had achieved their objective? There would be nothing left.

Socialists are good at running out of other peoples money.

So no I don't mourn her passing because she is not my family, my mum died this year and that is enough mourning for me thanks. But will I keep my opinion to myself because somebody is jumping up and down like she was Hitler? No.

Voting Labour is a sure way to feck the country. It's been that way for a long time.

Well let me ask you this ... and this is of course an EXTREME example. Had it been Hitler, we would have cheered it and cheered for cheering it. Of course there is no comparison between the two. But where is that line? Must we always be respectful?

I think one of her first acts as PM was to withdraw funding to the SFA to redevelop Hampden Park in Glasgow.

It later emerged that she was going to send in the bulldozers and leave Scotland without a national football stadium ( and before anyone comments, I realise that this will give many of the members on here a stiffy).

In the end, she didn't. But Scotland is now left with a dinosaur of a stadium that is in many ways unfit for purpose.

...much like the state of the current team
