i agree with you OP even if you did not like someone you should not speak ill of the dead esepcially if they were generally good people i liked what i heard about her polices the same happened here in Alberta,Canada when our old premier Ralph Klein died sure he had controversal polices among other things he did but once someones dead if your going to be an a**hole about them that is just wrong criticze thier policys while they are alive please.

I have to agree with you. But I think your statement here ..." by disrespecting the value of a human life and its passing, regardless of who that individual might have been.... It would seem that some of my fellow members do not my value human life like the rest of us do or our respect for the dead."...is at issue.

I think they lump Osama, Hitler, Jim Jones and others dead like them....into a general category....and then spew forth the venom. These deceased figures are certainly not to be respected for being dead ...nor did they themselves respect the value of life....and killed millions.

Neither did thatcher so why honor her in death and not those others you mentioned?

Like "theothersideofhecoin" himself said

"no matter what ,thatcher was a mother a wife a daughter a friend to people around her and so we need to respect and value.....bla"

Well, so were saddam, bin , kaddafi..

Either you stay true to your words or they are worth zilch from now on.

"Show me the post where you expressed your disgust with ATS members when Saddam Hussein died".

I was not a member when Saddam died......

and regardless of who has died I think my point about respect for the dead still stands.

Then show me the posts and threads you made in disgusts of peoples reactions when bin laden or kadaffi died.

I agree with you completely, even it you dislike someone, I don't believe a person should show their ignorance and speak evil of the dead, in fact if we were more like The Christ, as we are suppose to be, or should be, we would not speak bad things of the living either.

Some might not like this but, it's a known fact that most child molesters were molested, as young children their self.
This in no way make's it right but shows why some people become as they are whether good or bad.

Let he or she that's is without Sin, cast the first stone. Other wise shut the heck up.

Oh yea, Judge not or yet ye be Judged, Vertiginous Mine saith The Lord. Some people's are lucky I practice what I preach or I would probably be in Prison bouts now.

How do I react to your post ? I want to cheer for you because to me, just speaking of the dead, is an impolite thing to do. Naturally I favor your anger towards disrespectful lops. They could with far less effort move right along, if the have nothing nice to say. So ! I still want to point out that ATS is made up of humanity. So that makes me want to yell HEY ! Point that firearm in the right direction ! ( Moves double barrel away from face ). I think your displeasure would befar better placed with humanity instead of ATS. I'm often ashamed to be human, white and a non academic iron worker. But it never lasts to long, because I do like me. I'm good people. But ashamed to be a member of ATS ?
Never !

While I understand your outrage at the people in here, I myself cannot condone their behavior, I have two things to point out.

She did not do certain things that she should have and your outrage should be directed more towards your own country and the way people there have celebrated her passing.

I think you misunderstood me. Personally....I respect all life. Sadly, not everyone does and labels the deceased accordingly (I dont...they've gone on to their "rewards" or punishments" for what they did in life).

Good or bad, I do think we should respect all life, regardless. Hold them accountable for their lifetime's achievements certainly, but I dont think we should batter the dead once they die. And thats exactly what is happening here...and past a point, we should let them rest...in clouds...or fire.

I too am dismayed. I think we need to leave the good and bad dead where they are ...we have this life to get thru ourselves. Let them be where they are...dead.

How morally special it must make one feel to choose not to be glad that this or that corrupt leader is gone from the earth.

I think it really comes down to that some people worship these corrupt scumbags because they see them as leaders... it's like a religion to them. And the normal human instinct to be glad to be rid of them is clouded because they see them as gods of some sort.

It's sad really... a twisting of the normal human emotions. These are brain damaged people.

that is a really interesting perspective. I think you are missing the point. It matters not if you like Mrs T or not. It is nasty and disrespectful to dance on someones grave, before they even have one.

When I read your comment I thought,' right back at you mate ' and the others.

I am genuinely puzzled why you think that it is acceptable for people to go to 'death parties' and jeer and laugh at someones death. It is beyond me.

I was brought up to have respect for life and for people and all creatures, great and small. I guess many people these days are not like that.

As I have stated many times before - these people are the problem in todays Britain, not the politicians.

Because the scum wouldn't and didn't care about anyone else when they died. How many graves have corrupt politicians like her danced on? Scum deserves no sympathy nor respect. She is burning in hell right now and good for her.

Has there been any other circumstance where people have celebrated....at least to this degree....the passing of a public figure? No.

This only emphasises what this ''iron (hearted) lady'' did to this country.

Also, what's this bullcrap about not speaking ill of the dead? Why the hell not? If they were scum when they were alive then they're scum when they're dead.

For many people her death is a kind of closure to some seriously bad years, years so bad they're scarred into people's mindsets, if people want to celebrate her death it's no one elses damn business but theirs.

such nastiness really refects more on the person saying it then the person that has recently died and is yet to be laid to rest ...

So there is no corrupt politicians? Everything is just lovely in the world? Stop being so naive to the reality of the situation and understand that this woman literally ruined lives. She deserves to burn in hell.

To be honest the people on here and in the country who display such nastiness and anger and bitterness and mean heartedness scare me.

I do not want my children anywhere near such people.

I value kindness and courage and many other things, but not the dark side I am afraid,

We will never agree because I will always balk at darkness and be attracted to kindness and all the qualities of life.

I hold no darkness in my heart, only towards those that choose to destroy the lives of others. If you honestly believe that these politicians have your best interest at heart, then God bless you. Please read a history book.

Is it wise to trundle through life ignoring what will always stare at you in the face? It would more selfless to infiltrate the darkness and try to change it from within with your light would it not?

Sorry off topic.

Helen, you seem to be saying that a person cannot at the same time be kind and have qualities and also hate Thatcher whilst feeling cold towards her death, I think you're wrong, it's more complicated than that.

It is irrelevent to me if people like or dislike her - you are missing the point.

What is vile and nasty and disrespectful is the bile here and elsewhere about celebrating and partying to cheer and laugh at her death,

Those people are like that in many walks of life - it is how they behave in general - as stated they are wrecking our country with their violence, emotional, verbal or physical.

They have caused more problems then Maggie ever did. They are darkness personified.

I have said all I am going to say on the matter.

Read my posts if you want to know what I mean and please do not twist the meanings. thank you.
