I was thinking that your coin only has one side. Or that it must be double headed.

I got the impression you would be a person that thinks outside the box or see's both sides of the situation. It's not an issue, you follow the majority. I am disappointed is all.

Scum that did nothing but rob the poor deserve no sympathy. This isn't just on ATS by the way, the UK has had parties through the night. This is the response you get when you devote your life to stealing the wealth of the poor. Notice that not many dance on the grave of those that do good for society. These people are usually revered. But corrupt scum that screw people over deserve no sympathy.

I was thinking, it will greatly help our stuggling economy when people are out buying party supplies. Good will come from the celebrating.

Thatcher was a horrid vile woman and made life misery for a lot of people in this country.

She didn't give those people sympathy and now the majority of the UK would like to repay that. If you think it's just ATS where this is happening then you are mistaken, only the rich and well off like Thatcher and nowdays the majority of the country despised the witch.

Their jobs disappeared because others could do it more reliably and efficiently. For a lot of that you can thank the militancy and intransigence of the unions.

I could hardly be described as rich, but I think she was the greatest peacetime Prime Minister that Britain had had since Gladstone.

A Guardian ICM poll conducted today finds that 50% of those polled thought she was good for the country;

www.guardian.co.uk...

Obviously Thatcherism worked with so many rich people out there.

"Quote" Nowadays the majority of the country despise her ... Broad assumption there!

I'll admit when Iatola Komani, Idi Amin and Pol Pot died, I was jubilant. It seems that Margret Thatcher was neither in the same league nor willingly as cruel, but her policies deeply crippled a large segment of Great Britain and inflicted a lot of extreme suffering and poverty. I can see why some are telling it like it is. Some people earn being despised. Obama fits that ticket for me.

Ashamed to be a member? This site is often an exchange of differing ideologies, debate is often the norm. To infer your ashamed.... seems a tad bit of hyperbole. I personally knew nothing of the woman, but after reading many comments, here, and on other sites, it makes sense that scores of people held her in contempt, and found her the source of their ruin.

I admit that she was not as bad as those people and a lot more like them.

I also don't think that something is ok just because there is no loss of population. Sometimes suffering can be worse than death.

Proximity is another decider for a lot of people. She hurt us from the inside out.

(When I say 'us' I do not mean Britain as a whole, just those negatively affected.

It doesn't take much look around the internet to see that people are divided about Thatcher, whether she left the country in a better state than when she took it over. For me, she left a more selfish, self obsessed country. Her rule was remembered for its riots and violence, I genuinely believe that we (UK) came closest to a police state than ever before.

It was the personality, she took on the bully trade unions and then she became the chief bully in the country. It was her aggressive way that most detested. John Major carried on many of the policies but he will be much warmly remembered by the UK people.

I wont disrespect the dead. No matter what they did in life.Margaret Thatcher, didn't really know that much about her. I do know she worked her way up in life and had the position that others should do the same, maybe some Brits could express their feelings better having had more contact with her actions. . I don't celebrate her death. The only one I could find myself happy over would be Dick Cheney, when that evil bastards heart gives out and he finally dies I am going to drink a bottle of champagne and remember all the boys he sent off to die fighting for Halliburton and big oil.
