those half wits don't even know why they are shouting and screaming- all frigged up on their cheap stupifying liquor
Nice of you to judge them as halfwits. You must be a Tory.

their actions are the actions of halfwits, and pal, I'm no Tory, they are flat beer for me
Do you have 1 solitary clue as to why they hate her so much?

too much alcohol abuse, too much received "wisdom"- these people would have been at the stocks throwing cabbages ffs
Clueless and offensive. Nice.

I'll take that as a no then.

edit, cos I'm done playing with you trollboy.

naw, we are all smart cookies after the event, far from it, fair play to Icke, but you are lying or mistaken when you say that
Well, what ever you say. My old man warned me to stay well away from him when we visited to TV studios (for me old mans work) He knew, and so did everyone who worked with him. Any complaints got laughed out, by the bosses and the police.

well fair play to your old man, but he was a frighteningly tiny minority, given the numbers who wanted to be in his show and given the admiration piled on him

very few knew and a tiny number said anything- in fact, other than Icke, who did?

I think they know exactly what they're cheering about - as do I.

I'd refer you to the lists posted on the previous page.

This is getting a bit off topic. This is a joyous thread, don't sully it.

aye right, that one sided critique (which isn't cause for celebrating her death) is really on the mind of that bunch of halfwits- if you are raising a glass to them, I'd make it cheap cider, lots of it

Halfwits for hating her, not only for what she did to the country, but for what she said about the Hillsborough victims.

She will NEVER be forgiven in Liverpool.

You were quite obviously oblivious to this, and as it seems by your comments in this thread, many other things.

Alright then - let us hear YOUR eulogy. Go on - tell us all why she was so great - and tell us why all of those who lived through her time as prime minister, and who were so badly affected by her policies, are wrong to make their feelings known at this time. (No name calling please - this is a growed up forum - and this is your chance to give the other side of the argument).

*listening intently*

Shameful, disrespectful and nasty response, I cannot believe or understand this attitude.
Demonising a person who happened to be a great leader - love or hate her politics is just quite unbelievable.

I did not know people were so mean on the inside.

That goes for all the people who have responded with cheer and celebration to the news of the death of our greatest peace time Prime Minister EVER !

People are calling out Thatcher for being part of a child sex abuse ring.
politicalscrapbook.net...
Sometimes strokes happen because the person is told something they can't handle. I wonder if someone told her that there was hard evidence coming out proving her involvement and she burst a blood vessel.
It's possible.

Oh! Lookie here:
"Margaret Thatcher `Paedophile Cabinet Prime Minister` Dies of Stroke"
www.mathaba.net...
Looks like the UK is going to have another trial for a dead paedo.

Margaret Thatcher known as the "Iron Lady" has "died of a stroke" according to media reports within the past hour. This came amidst mounting questions about the extent of child sexual exploitation (paedophile) conspiracies involving British intelligence and security agencies (MI5, SIS) and senior British politicians who were protected by Thatcher.

You folks in the UK should stand up and demand that these people be tried before they get put in the ground.

What goes around, comes around. I recall many people on here celebrating Chavez's death not too long ago.

The West is quick to vilify any leader they don't agree with, and deify those they do. The result is the truth gets buried.

Tell it like it is:

Margaret Thatcher was a strong-willed woman. But it's too bad she didn't give a damn about the common working person, or she may have done great things with her time in office. Instead, her failed policies set England on a path to massive debt, and eventually she was taken down by a revolt from within her own party.

She was a friend to right-wing dictators Augusto Pinochet, Saddam Hussein and General Suharto. And she called Nelson Mandela a terrorist. No one can argue that she wasn't on the wrong side of history in many respects.

I am from the north...working class and by no means wealthy, she did not destroy me

or any others I know! Indeed she gave many the opportunity to aspire.

Nelson Mandela admitted in his autobiography that he was a terrorist - he was involved in planting a bomb in Johannesburg that killed many people.

There is a saying that says - have respect for the dead and I believe that should be so.

She was a great leader in many respects .. and we have had no better since.

In fact we need someone with her mettle and courage to lead us with vision, today - but we are sorely lacking in that department.

read my posts, I don't think she was "so great"- the options are not

* drink cheap cider because an oul woman is dead

or

* think she is great

She was no hero of mine, did some good things, did a lot of bad things, just ridiculous the way people invent this cartoon character on either side of the debate

Stop prejudging people and open yer mind- I seek another path, and it ain't Tory/Lab/Lib

So you're celebrating the death of this woman? Interesting.

How about tell us why once you've come back from your happy dance.

She was a woman of courage and a pioneer in her time. Even if you don't agree with what she did or didn't do - she deserves a modicum of respect.

peace

Not really. Hitler was a man of courage and a pioneer, if you wanted to think up some garbage qualities to the man, certainly his efforts were audacious/courageous . Doesn't change the fact he was a vile scumbag with blood on his hands. Just as Thatcher being courageous doesn't eradicate her many bad qualities.

The whole "have some respect" argument is worn out. Thatcher was was a disgusting lunatic when she was alive, dying doesn't change who she was.

The argument isn't really about respecting the dead, it's about respecting people who you respect , conforming to someone elses view. Respecting the dead is only important if the person commanding respect for the dead has some sort of respect for said dead. I'm sure if I went around laughing at the death of muslim terrorists it would be no biggie. If that little korean nutter died tomorrow and I said good, I doubt very much I'd be berated and vilified by the media for expressing "disgusting" views.

No, having no respect for the dead is only unacceptable when it's someone we're supposed to support or sympathise with. It's not something that is applied across the board, but only to select people.

There's proof enough of what I'm saying in this thread. The people who aren't happy don't see her impact as that bad, the people who are happy obviously think she was a disaster and a horrible person. It's perception isn't it. How you view her is going to determine your reaction.

I think people should get over it, different people have different views. If someone wants to celebrate the death of Thatcher, Hitchens, Chavez, Osama, whoever, that's their prerogative. If they feel these people are evil(and they really do, nobody is celebrating somebody they thought was good, they're celebrating the death of somebody they viewed as out and out evil) and that the world is a better place for their passing, that's up to them. They might be wrong in their views, but I wouldn't call their views disgusting, vile or whatever else, because the people reacting in this way obviously believe that a truly bad person has died.

Ask yourselves, is it really controversial and sick to celebrate the death of somebody, or is it only controversial and sick because of your perception of the person in question?

If you think its sick across the board, to celebrate the death of anybody, then I have the utmost respect for your position. But if you aren't going to stick to your views no matter whose death is being celebrated, and most of you aren't going to lets be honest, then your outrage and disgust is worth nothing.
