Excellent rant / post!

I personally don't think anyone will sit the Iron Throne!

Maybe in the show, someone will though...

But there is so much going on in the books behind the scenes. Glass candles, faceless men, powerful forces sending people messages through dreams, the Maesters.. mother f'in Patchface! (the creep)

Oh man.. Good idea. I think I might pick up the books again too..

Glass candles! No one has one in the show I think? also what about the Moqorro and the Dragon horn and the VALERYIAN SUIT that Greyjoy picked up in the Doom.

That's great point!
But I think they magic wheel will be broken, control via magics and gods, spells, black slimy stones, fire, ice etc.... the children, dragons, white walkers, giants and My Little Pony will go, It will become the land of men and women, ruled by men and women. They will choose Sansa.

I think Glass Candles were referenced in the show at some point but can't recall. Ah Dragon Binder! I forgot all about the Valaryian suite of armor.. Oh and the book doesn't ruin Dorne! There's also Tyrion's missing Uncle... And Tyrion's dwarf friend Penny. I think Tyrion's journey East in Dance with Dragons is my favorite part of his story so far.

Stoneheart was a huge missed opportunity for the showrunners.

I'm not so sure but I don't have another name to offer.

In my opinion Sansa does not deserve to rule. But then again., who does?

If we are gonna go with what I would like to see it would be little lady Mormont..

But wishes and hopes are like bishops and popes..

They tried to cram too much into one episode; with an apparent goal in mind, but not very mindful of the means of getting there. The very rapid transits, the chains on the dragon (can the King not raise his arms and raise the dead?) The whole Benjen thing. (Since when can two people not ride together on a horse?)

Then the guy fell into water, and we saw a flurry of zombies, and his blood mixing in the water obviously enduring a savage attack, and Jon fell into dispair. Then he stayed behind when the others got on the dragon, which was completely without justification. He falls in the water, and after a few superficial bites, the zombies swim away?. Or he kills them all alone? Then he's on a boat with his new GF.

I wanted to see the kidnapped zombie on the boat in the brig having a hissy fit that only a zombie can have. What will they do with him? Maybe Cersei will put a collar and leash on him and keep him as a pet.

I think there may be a difference in what creature is made, by what the king does? Maybe raising his arms creates the skeletal zombies like we saw at hardhome, and his touch creates something a little higher up in the hierachy of zombies? May be the reason for fishing out the dragon. He wanted a blue-eyed devil instead of bones and gaping holes. Does an ice dragon breath fire? I guess the Night King thinks so.

Anyway, I was disappointed a little. Again, too much crammed into this one episode, and not enough care in getting us there.
I predict Jon and Dany will produce a mutant, somewhat grotesque and dragonesque, fire breathing baby. He or she is not completely without charms, but is lethal, and destroys both her parents upon the first temper tantrum in the terrible twos, and assumes the Iron Throne.
Or something.

I am very doubtful the lady has such a following in the books. The lovely little actress stole the show accidentally.

Just like in the books I think Jamie ends up with Briaenne, but the show made Tormunde more popular as her romantic interest.

So maybe for TV you could be right, but my wager is not so much in the books.

Lady,
I can find no fault in this extrapolation.

The cramming is glaring at this point, I would love them to have stretched out a season 9.The fans want it..

Well at least I do..

Oh yeah, that horn Samwell found buried in the snow at the wall, with those dragonglass knives. I think he took some books from the citadel when he left. Maybe he can figure out what it's for.

I don't know, Mike. After the finale Sunday night, I don't know if I want to wait another 18 months or so for another episode. I will probably find that more annoying than intriguing. Ya know?

Well, the way I see it I'm already gonna wait for season 8..so taking that into consideration I would rather wait another year after that to see the story finished correctly than rushing headlong into a series finale..

Grrm has taken his time for a reason.. I'm thinking it had to do with him wanting to keep up the quality of his saga.
All the layers, all the intrigue .

To rush it like it had been is only focusing a spotlight on the already glaring disparity between the artful storytelling of the books and what we have received the past few seasons in the show.
