A nut without a gun wouldn't have gunned down 14 people. Think before you waste some space. It is obvious as it sounds. No guns no people gunned. Your argumentation is invalid.

And who are you surrounded by?

You missed the point.

You are surrounded by allied countries that have similar ideals.

We have Mexico. And until you live here, you have no idea how much of a problem Mexico has become for smuggling.

How was this possible?

There have been review screenings and midnight screenings. The entire plot of the movie has been available for the last week. The pictures of Bane have been online for the last year along with the fight scene in question as they were released as promotion for the new Batman movie. If the guy had an obsession with Batman he would know this.

Further, given the extent to which the gunman was prepared for this attack (multiple weapons, body armor, teargas, riot/gas mask etc)

Is it easy for a young man to obtain those? I shouldn't think so. Thats really odd to me.

three in 2011, for 12 months, versus 3 in 6 months in 2012 for the US... but sure, half as much is close...

And how many so far in 2012 in Europe?

Sorry, but no.

If I wanted a gun right now I would have NO WAY of getting one.

You've never lived somewhere with ACTUAL gun control if you believe that.

I don't know a single person with a gun and have maybe seen two, on police detectives, in the 5 years I've lived here.

There's crime, yep, but here, there's almost NO gun crime.

If what you were saying was true, then there'd be a lot of it... there's not.

You are so out of touch with reality that it's actually scary.

Ring your friends, find out who sells marijuana, ask where the small time dealer gets his, you're 80% on your way to locating someone who can put you in contact with a gun-dealer

You must be a hermit or a very out of touch toff to actually believe guns are so difficult to obtain.

Guns are NOT hard to get, IF you want one. Hell, you can get a replica and turn it into a functioning gun with next to no knowledge of firearms, you realise that?

Come visit Ireland. You won't see a gun for months, years even, at a time.

Chances of being shot are next to none. Cops don't carry guns cause the crooks don't have them.

Same in the UK.

That's 10s of millions of people with almost no gun crime.

If you carried a gun here, for safety, people would report you to the cops for being a nutter.

Now I know you live in a mansion with mummy and daddy

Please exit this conversation. You are out of touch with British and Irish society.

Don't even live in the same country with my parents (my dad is dead for the record).

And guess what, I'm friends, close friends, with two Irish cops, and I lived in London for years... so...

wrong on all counts.

You're friends with the police but don't know anyone who has a gun? Where do you think the guns come from? lmfao. Up and down the UK corrupt police are selling guns.

What a hero.
"Oh crap, people are shooting in this direction!!!"
"Oh thank god, someone on the other side of us is shooting back!"

So now you make fun of the fact that if somebody were carrying concealed they could have defended themselves and/or others? I bet it'd be OK for a police officer to shoot back but God forbid a law abiding citizen defend themselves from this nut then that's just crazy and deserves a rolling-the-eyes-emoticon.

Anything can be funny sir, you just have to see it in the right light and context. Yes, you can joke about anything.

Honestly you should realize that not everyone views death the same as you or others, and apparently to the guy holding the shotgun in the movie theater he doesn't view it the same either.

What you value and hold dear is different than what others hold dear....different strokes for different folks. At least Im not being vulgar, I have quite a few good zingers off of this one already.

All you people need to really pay attention to is yourself and be aware when in public, because anything can happen.

Sorry man, but when tragedy strikes, Humor isn't immediately warranted, or wanted.
You might want to make light of it, but I can guarantee the majority here, doesn't want to hear it. If you are aware that ANYTHING can happen, just think if this was your family, your loved ones. Would you want someone to crack a joke, as you find out your loved one might have died?

I can kind of understand where they're coming from. I have a very hard time dealing with death. So often, I don't. Deal that is. Sometimes I withdraw. Sometimes I joke. I don't mean to. It's just my way to deal with it. If I'm not forced to deal with it, I withdraw. If I HAVE to, absolutely MUST deal, I joke. Because if I don't, I'll break down. I cannot deal with death. Not around me that is. Every one thinks I'm cold, but I'm not. I either do my mourning months in advance, like with my Pop, I knew he would die weeks in advance and told my father so. Or if it's sudden, I don't cry at all and just seem cold about it, but that's my way of dealing. I withdraw, and/or crack jokes and laugh. It's a coping mechanism. Sorry. You either cope, or you break.

Don't confuse gun crime with other crime. Just because you don't have gun crime doesn't make you safe.

There's 7 billion on the planet, how you can you say "there's too many random nuts"? More people, more nuts. That's axiomatic. There are around 330 million people in this country and you really believe the government has to concoct these kind of stories?

Sounds a little like RFK murder, how the gunman found almost docile. Mind Control? Chaos by design?

Just a feeling... but sounds strangle how the gunman acted when arrested.

It doesn't sound strange to me. It sounds like a coward who was perfectly content with taking the lives of other people, but terrified of being killed himself.

The government wants to have the only legal authority to shoot people, and they are determined to get that. That is why these incidents keep happening. They do not want civilians to have the ability to defend themselves.
