How long before some idiot politicians blames the guns used and pathetically attempts to use this as justification for more "common sense and responsible" gun control legislation?
I'm guessing about 24 hours. Undoubtedly, the phrase "for the children" will be used at least 5 times
Already happening.
As a mom, I keep thinking,"My kids go to the movies all the time." Heartbreaking, gut-wrenching, senseless tragedy in #Aurora, CO.

Sorry, where did she mention guns?
Or is that just you being paranoid?
Debbie Schultz has an anti-2nd history and she dragged kids into the quote.
I'm just taking it for granted that a politician with an anti-gun history is still anti-gun.
University Hospital confirmed to 9NEWS the youngest patient they have in their care is 3 months old. That baby's condition is unknown at this time. Hospital officials say the baby was not shot, but was taken into the hospital as a precautionary measure after the shooting.

There is of course that evidence...
Look at the murder rate in places with little or no guns... a guy with a knife woulda had a hard time killing 14 and injuring 50 at a theatre...
There IS a corollary though, and that is that America has a higher murder rate, when you subtract guns, than most Europeans and Asian countries...
Guns don't make Americans prone to murder, but the access less them kill more people more easily...edit on 20-7-2012 by longlostbrother because: (no reason given)

also, BTW....colorado is a CCW state....we can all be armed.....so in that theater, nobody was armed and took him out....too bad....
That theater, at least the corporate body of that theater, has a no weapons policy.
Lawful carriers would have been asked to leave if found out they were carrying.
makes you wonder if that's why he picked that location, knowing that law abiding citizens would be unarmed.
in any event i will keep these people in my prayers and hope that they can get through this.

They said he/they came in through the emergency exit. Those doors automatically lock from the outside upon closing unless a certain feature is activated on the door itself, meant for employees to take out the trash and come back in. So, I wonder who let em in...

A guy with a gun should have also had a hard time. You are assuming people might have fought back more valiantly against a guy with a knife, but that is a big assumption.

You are right, guns have a much higher killing capacity unless you are a super ninja assassin.
BUT,
If the coward hadn't chosen a theater with a no weapons policy, it would of never made it that far.

I thought there were several shooters and only one was caught and taken into custody? I better re-read the facts on this I am sorry for being so dumb but I am in a bit of shock over this.
