Mass shooting in Aurora, CO (At Batman Film Premiere)

From Sky.....Marleen Holmes (mother of shooter) apparently spoke to ABC news saying that she thought it was her son and that she needed to get to Colarado and said, "I think you have the right man".

So whilst he never raised any flags for the authorities, he obviously did with his mum.

Buckets of ammo, high caliber weapons. Not cheap, that is for sure.

Guns are always going to be made, they are not going to go away with a law, or with banning them.

I can see it now law passes headlines read: "All Multi-billion Dollar Gun Industry Manufacturers to Close Down Tomorrow."

Guns are obtained by nut-jobs, criminals, and anyone that wishes to cause chaos regardless if they are illegal, or not, if they didn't have guns they would resort to another means of destruction, on a mass scale.

Mass killings have also happened in multiple countries where guns are illegal for the general public to carry.

If someone in that theater would have been carrying their concealed pistol permit and knew how to use it there would be a lot less dead, or maybe even no one dead except for the perpetrator himself.

And lastly the only one that is going to protect you in this world is........guess.....You!

Not sure if any of you remembers Columbine, but by the time swat was dispatched, got to the scene and engaged the perpetrators more children died needlessly.

If one teacher, or administrator in Columbine would have had the weapon, and the guts to engaged the perps less people would have died.

Guns are not going away anytime soon.

My thoughts, love and prayers go out to all of the families in Colorado.

That's where our attention should turn to...what are the implications? Also what are we missing when we focus on this?

It also seems to me that these sorts of events sadly act as a sort of common denominator for a disconnected populace. It's too bad we can't all rally around and discuss something positive.

Exactly, I said this way back in the thread and I am reposting this as it has to be said again!

There are plenty threads about guns, this is about an incident, it is extremely tedious to read page after page about yay / nay to guns.

ATS would be so much nicer if threads kept to topic rather than being derailed into a sidetrack, it isn't a guns discussion despite this guys method, it could have been anything, there were also explosives, but similarly it isn't a discussion thread on explosives either.

Why is Obama talking about this?

I think if people would have had guns in that theater and responded there would be more victims. Unless they had a Desert Eagle or some other type of cumbersome high calibre rifle (who would take that into a theater?). The shooter was armed to the teeth with body armor on. Not to mention all the panic that ensued and innocent people running around.

I think that is a completely wrong assumption.

I am not a trained sniper, or a military guy, or even law enforcement, and I only carry a .380. BUT, my .380 has a laser site that would have put a little red dot right on his gas mask and ended the massacre. If I didn't have the laser site, I would have gotten as close as possible, and put a couple of rounds in his center of mass, which would have stunned and disoriented him, and me too when I realized it hadn't killed him, but then I would have emptied the rest of the clip into his ass and jumped on top of him and took the shotgun.

On top of all that, once me, or any person started to fight back, others would have jumped in to help. Even if I wasn't armed, if I could have gotten close enough, I would have jumped on him, and once I did, then others would have followed suit.

Body armor helps things not penetrate, and might save a life, but it doesn't cover everything, and it still hurts like hell, and it still knocks you off balance when you're hit. It also limits your mobility, and a gas mask limits your range of vision. It would have been fairly easy to stay out of his peripheral vision and get close enough for a headshot, or neck shot, or just a good ol' bumrush to take his weapon.

We are in a brave new world these past few years, Im sure we are not far behind from having TSA at every school and theater.

And if you would read any of my threats you would know I never ask for big brothers help, there is no hypocrisy from me. I believe in liberty over security, because with liberty you will have security!

The story may be shocking to some. Why it would be will remain a mystery.

This happened in a country where anyone can go in and arm themselves to the teeth with a huge array of weapons.

This has happened before and will continue to happen in the future.

Do not be naive to be shocked by a story like this that occurred in a nation that embraces gun ownership.

If that would be the case, then the pesky Killuminati could just aswell have used any of the previous school shootings, or even better, the killing of J.F.Kennedy as an excuse.

As for such laws actually working, I can reveal, that guns are NOT allowed in Sweden unless you are an orderly, and, yet, there are shootings and knifings all the time nowadays by the previously mentioned groups that do as they please regardless of any national laws, so apparently the "TPTB" would need to find out a better plan than guncontrol.
