That's one of the most deluded, back-wards thinking things I've ever read. You must really cherish your and other people's misery. You'll take your diabetes and early death over help any day, won't ya? Cuz yer a proud Uhmerican... "Holy Jesus and Hallelujah, I am a free man! Freedom shur ain't free! You gotta fight me fer it!"

So your Health care went up when obamacare was put into place? Wierd, seeing as the Supreme Court just upheld its constitutionality a week ago. Did your insurance go up last week?

By your logic then I should quit working and just be thankful that you are there to support me!
I had no idea that people like you were so charitable. Thanks for the free ride!

Off to play xbox now and I'll wait for you to send me my $$$.

My health care went up several months ago when Obamacare was passed by Congress and signed by Obama.

almost doubled since Obamacare was signed into law.

I don't see how this is confusing you. I said nothing about it being "put into place".

I'm sorry, but I can't understand what you just wrote, as the Mods will be removing your statement.

Taxes are forced, no?
The Govt forces me to pay taxes, or go to prison.
I have no say in the matter. When someone forces me to give them something, it is theft.
But, when the Govt does the same, it is called taxes.

Theft by any name.......so on and so forth.

Why should anyone get something that they cannot pay for? If you can't afford healthcare then just stay sick.

You don't have a job, then why should I care?

You can't afford to eat? Why should I help pay for your food?

You are too old to work? Sucks to be you.

In fact, all of my money should be only going to me. Help out my fellow man? What do you take me for? A charitable, civilized human being? I know we live in one of the top industrialized countries in the world, a country with one of the highest standards of living, but to give everyone access to some of the most basic humanitarian services... You've got to be kidding.

Seriously, if you break a leg and cannot afford to pay your doctor, then I have a low cost solution for you. Two sticks and some duct tape. How dare you think any doctor will help you, after all, isn't that slavery to a t? Mind you they will still be getting paid, will still be driving their car to work, return to their home each evening to a nice meal. I mean, isn't that how slavery works? Or am I thinking of the holocaust? Whatever, healthcare for everyone is just like being a slave during the holocaust with Genghis Khan breathing down your neck.

Okay, major sarcasm off. Why is it that we, as a so called 'civilized' country, cannot take care of each and every citizen? Forget the "Obama Care" name for a second. Forget that my taxes may raise a bit. Take a look at this from a purely human to human view. Take a look from a spiritual view. Why is there needless suffering in America when it just doesn't need to be. Are we that elitist and self arrogant that to provide an underprivileged person basic medical care is just outrageous and an affront to our way of life? If so, then maybe it is time to reevaluate who we are as a society.

Stop the madness, we the people finally got them to represent us a little , Call it what you want tax or fine or penalty it is just the cost of being a citizen, unfortunately there are to many people that choose to leave misfortune to chance or don’t want to share the cost, or just don’t care about others , 4 when things go bad, it will be our tax dollars that fight fire, storm ,flood ,house you and yours , feed and clothe and take care of medical needs. That’s what society is all about, we take care of our own, we are all in this together. would you want any less, the old system of health care for the richest and fittest just doesn’t work well enough 4 all citizens.

Here is a solution for you, Since you are the helping hand. Why isn't an option for people like you to volunteer their hard earned income to help out the needy and leave us alone who don't. Then if we don't we get nothing in exchange. Sounds like a compromise there. But it is people like you who probably don't work or pay much to taxes so what do you care about our families we have to support while bailing you out?

Interesting that you equate someone being willing to help other people as being someone who doesn't work or pay much taxes. As odd as it may sound in this day and age, not every American who works is a self-centered jerk who thinks of nobody but themselves. "Jerk" used in the generic sense, not intended at you specifically.

In the meantime, MasterJaden - have you found the section of the law yet that states where doctors and such may be dragged out of bed at gun point and forced to attend to a patient? That is such a major portion of this law that I'm sure you have found it by now. Still waiting...

So taxation is theft?

Actually, Yes it is. Try saying No.
Just because a government does it, does not make it right.
How would you feel if i borrowed money from a bank and handed over a promissory note with your name on it and the promise that they could remove X amount of funds from your wages everytime you are paid.
Without your permission, and, with the threat of force if you refuse.
Then i took the loans and blew them on hookers, and drugs, (or wars and secret black projects you will never see any benefit from, new underground military bases, an aging nuclear industry and weapons stockpile that needs decommissioning and servicing) all the while promising that the loan would be used to make your life better.
When all i have done is created a debt you have to pay back and, not made an iota of difference, in real terms, to your life.
Then i went and borrowed more money, and made your payments bigger.
Theft?.
or you feel it is different because your programming says "Herp DERP it's ok when the government robs me, it's not theft".

Medicare doesn't work

Medicare is not perfect but it has been the best system so far in place for retired and elderly Americans. Even Reagan left it intact in spite of the fact he was a staunch advocate against the programme, in spite of the fact that he had a Republican controlled congress for much his administration, and support.

What do you suggest we put in place of medicare? There only other option is to leave the healthcare issues of the elderly to the private market, but how's that going to work? What private insurance company is going to cover the elderly, many of whom have pre-existing conditions, many of who are not financially well of. The elderly are unprofitable to private healthcare corporations, this if fact. Medicare is a very good demonstration for why this idea of a completely privatized healthcare system is unrealistic, atleast for the foreseeable future.

TWISTEDWORDS fits you very well. I must assume that you are a middle aged white male. You work for someone else and are not happy with your current employment. If anyone asks you for help, you will help them, but grumble about it the whole time. You are the classic American. You judge others while holding yourself in high regard. If others are not at least equal to you, then they are beneath you. And you wouldn't be a slight bit racist would you?

Anywho, I have worked my whole life. Paid taxes every year, willingly I might add. And have never used government assistance. I like paying taxes because I like my roads kept up, I like police protection. I also understand that that not all my taxes goes to the best endeavors, but overall, our taxes paid for a pretty good country.

I do also believe that we are all equal. However, where we are in life is not at all equal. If a person arrives there by either choice or circumstance, who are we to say which is which?

Have you ever heard the story of the "Good Samaritan"? Whether you are christian or not, it provides a good analogy on how we should treat our fellow man. All I would ask is that you read the story and consider how this may fit into this discussion.

And as far as judging other people, there are Bible verses regarding that scenario also.

Don't preach to me about religion, that's off topic.

I work hard and pay my fair share of taxes too. I have a family to support and I am up to my eyeballs in bills. I have no debt, I play by the rules. I see millions of Americans thinking that I have to pay for them. I know for a fact jack there are 70 million Americans cheating the system. They are on Section 8 housing, food stamps, welfare and the list goes on. Guess what they are fully capable of working, but they won't. Why would they? They live for free. So why would any of these people who make 6k a month on federal dollars go to work. Thats 72k a years they get from people like me, for doing nothing. Thats absurd and you want to sit here and defend these lazy people? OMG, you do not understand whats going on.

Check out these fine brand new homes you can get in the Phoenix area under section 8 housing.

Section 8 Housing in Phoenix

You can also get a voucher to have a hot tub installed in the house under this program too and get a voucher to pay for the electric bill every month. Pretty cool eh' for all of the freeloaders to get brand new homes for free. Bet you all didn't know this was available and there are 70 million Americans on this same system and its growing as more find out.

Actually, I agree with you about those cheating the system. It is way too easy to cheat and take advantage of it. I have some in-laws that know how to work the system. They as low as they come as far as I am concerned. Section 8 and welfare should be for those who truly need it, not for those who get on it 'just because they can'. No, those people need to be jailed.

I guess what I am trying to say is do we let everyone suffer just because we have some who will abuse the system? I have worked hard to get where I am. I also understand what life can throw at you. My wife is under fifty with a back fusion and total knee replacement among other medical problems. Fortunately I am able to take care of us and have good insurance. We are two of the lucky ones.

I live in a small community. There are jars in the gas stations asking for donations for a child going through cancer. If they can't pay the over $300k, then the child will not get treatment. It is real. As real as it gets. I would also like to say that my wife just went through a double mastectomy, but because of insurance, she received the treatment she needed and is doing okay. Not everyone can say that.

So the question I have is should a child be denied the medical treatment they need because of those who defraud the system? Do we save one life in spite of the many, or do we let the many dictate who we are willing to help?

No I am not saying that. I am saying this system needs to be overhauled by removing the freeloaders off of it. I wouldn't have a problem if this system didn't let 70 million Americans abuse the system, but guess what they do and no one cares. Its just like the whole dotcom bubble burst and housing fiasco, did anyone get in trouble? No, they got bonuses for making this mess.

I guess the only thing to do now is to become one of those rich snobs who don't pay taxes or just quit your job and become on of the freeloaders. Do people really think that the middle class is just going to sit back and take anymore of it? I don't think they will. I think they will do as I say that they will and join the ranks of the privileged(rich- sell themselves) or become one of the needy who get handouts. That's the problem I see coming down the pipe, then who will pay for all of this stuff?

Now do you see? Its disgusting and now they get free health insurance? Well isn't that just dandy, while I have to work my butt off every damn day. I make a great living, but when I see this crap it angers me to no end. Why should so many get so much for doing nothing? I just don't get it.

The 70 million freeloaders make up a substantial voting block. From now till eternity we will probably hear every Democrat candidate tell that voting block that the evil Republicans want to take away their health care and let Grandma die while she breathes polluted air and drinks dirty water.

Now add the families of illegals who cannot be deported and who will eventually be granted amnesty to that voting block and you make it much easier for Democrats to get re-elected and stay in power.

In my opinion, that is what this is all about.
