I love when stupid people hear that someone gets a flesh eating disease and think the infected person becomes a flesh eating zombie.

A University in Florida (not the University of Florida) had accidentally released a virus which consists of flu-rabies combination, which causes the person's internal organs to heat up. There has been other cases in Arizona, California, Texas, Colorado, New Jersey,etc...in each case the suspect tore off thier clothes and attacked people by chewing on various body parts. None are showing positive toxicology for drugs in their system. The outbreak was found on 5/17/2012 but was not reported until 5/24/2012. For what it's worth...The virus does not attack "O' blood type.....

I heard it was a hoax. I forget which one of these threads it is, but on one of them they said it was a hoax. I am inclined to believe this.

Of course it's not a zombie apolcalypse, quite embarrasing that they should feel they have to confirm this really.

As for the using zombies as a preparedness metaphor on thier site...., it's no conspiracy hidden meaning, just a rip off from Zombie Squad

Wouldn't the CDC have some credibility on this issue if they hadn't made a mockery of themselves by pandering with a comic book Zombie Apocalypse campaign? Shouldn't somebody be playing the part of the adult here? It's like your father is a clown and he forgets to take off his makeup and nose before he tries to explain to you why something is serious. You have a mock campaign to prepare for zombies, then people start eating each other and you're like nothing to see here. Really? zombielogicblog.blogspot.com...

Bath salts my ass. Do you know how long bath salts have been around? seriously? We would hear A LOT more about these types of incidents if it were bath salts.

Anyway, not saying it is zombies but one never knows in the world we live in today..(crazy)

'Bath salts' is the nickname for a drug, it's supposed to be an unpleasant suicidal thought inducing drug that lasts even after the drugs wear off.

I can speak anecdotally about the bath salts.
I have a nephew that has used them. He has been in a very depressed state (psychologically) since using them. It apparently is a long lasting effect.

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't "zombies" dead and then come back to life as a zombie??

All these incidents that are happening in the news, these people are alive, NO?

I don't understand the anatomy of a zombie, but that is my understanding.

There are two types of zombie.
Type I= Hollywood style, dead people coming back to life===FAKE, can not happen. Once you are dead you are dead.

Type II= Living people that have gone out of there mind. They are no longer even human for the most part. Just a kill crazied beast with no fear and live only to kill. This type is very real and can be caused by a disease or virus or by drugs. This second type would look just like the Hollywood type but there is a living thing at its core. I guess you could say the body is alive but the brain is not so much any more. Just think about it like a mass out break of rabies.

Symptoms=
No fear
Shyness
Restlessness, excitability, aggression, or sudden mood changes
Excessive drooling
Eating substances not normally eaten (pica)
Paralysis, which is sometimes the only sign
Fever.
Cough or sore throat.
Pain, burning, itching, tingling, or numbness at the site of the bite or original exposure.
Abdominal pain.
Anxiety or restlessness that gradually gets worse and may become extreme agitation.
Later symptoms are more distinctive and may include:

Periods of normal behavior that alternate with bizarre or unusual behavior, such as:
Anxiety or feeling agitated.
Hallucinations.
Delirium.
Fear of water (hydrophobia) or fear of air (aerophobia).
Muscle spasms in the face, neck, and/or diaphragm, followed by seizures.
Wide fluctuations in temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
Coma, and heart and respiratory failure.

Sounds like a zombie to me. Remember to shot for the head.

I call lame on the CDC for ever posting such a thing (the original zombie outbreak poo) in the first place. They are a govt agency operating on our tax dollars and have no business posting 'tongue in cheek' crap on an official website. Their job is to protect us from disease... In a straightforward way. No need to confuse anyone.
