I've seen some excellent advice in the replies to your thread. It is important to start walking the road to recovery quickly; you have taken the first step on that road already.

Please Stop Writing on my thread. I am asking nice. And by the way, if you ever have any problems and needed a friend or a nice word and wrote about it. I would have been one of the first to try and help and if I wasn't helping you, hurting you instead I would instantly wish you luck and move on. Please do the same for me.

Well you shouldn't feel like that... addiction and are depression are not signs of weakness, failure or anything like that.... the fact that you reached out and asked for someone to talk to, called out to your fellow beings/members/friends just shows that you know you need to change and that you are willing to do something.

You should never feel like that... don't think of yourself as a loser, you are whatever you want to be and whatever you can dream that you are.

Well that's what happens.... everyone has their crutch... everyone has their addictions.. some are just more destructive and unhealthy than others.
All you need to do, is as you've said, start talking to people... ask for the love and support of your family and know within yourself that you have to change and you have to try and make this work.

Sorry I know you guys probably don't wanna hear this crap, I just felt like I needed someone today, and had things to say and found myself here on ATS.

Some people may not want to hear it and that's fine, they wont read the thread... others will take the time, respond, empathise and try their best to help and offer advice.
That's life... you get assholes and you get decent people who help others when they're down.

Ignore morons like the first guy who posted and just focus on the positive and helpful advice and words that people have offered... I'm sure within this diverse community there are others who have been where you are, have stood where you're standing now... at the bottom of a pit, looking up thinking there's no way out.

But there is.

I will say I am struggling with my Faith Cause I feel like God doesn't hear my prayers and doesn't care. I am so confused.

Well perhaps god doesn't answer prayers? Who knows.

I'm not religious so I'm not here to tell you about faith or god.

what I will tell you is to focus on yourself and your friends and family and partner.
They are what's important and they will be the one's who are there... you need all your energy and relying on a god who may or may not be there is probably not what's best right now.

If you find comfort and solace in God that I am not telling you to not carry on with that, don't get me wrong... I am saying that if it's not helping and it's putting extra stress and worry on you... forget all that for now and just focus on getting straight and working things out.

Don't forget there is always someone prepared to listen at ATS

You've missed the point this entire time. This thread isn't about someone advocating drug use, which is against T&C, this is a thread from someone who is asking for help after an addiction of, in their own words, "Nothing like I used to, but now it seems booze and xanex seem to be turning into a daily habit for me." From reading your posts you seem to have obviously missed that they said this, the impression you seem to have is of her saying something very, very different.

So no, they're not talking about taking Illegal drugs which you seem to believe. This is a very real problem being brought up, one which affects a lot of people and there's absolutely nothing wrong with this thread being here. So maybe change that pathetic attitude of yours already. It's not helpful and It's already been made aware to you, even by the OP, that it's not welcome.

Get a washable marker, write on your bathroom mirror!!! Write personal goals. Write positive attributes about yourself. Get big paper and write the same thing again and again!

My prayers go up for you. Take each minute, hour one at a time, and say to yourself, I made it another hour, I CAN MAKE THE NEXT HOUR TOO. Till you make it for a day, then you can say, I made it through a whole day, I can make it for an hour once more, click them off one by one, then you will have another day.

You just did the hardest part and that was sharing with your family and friends. You are not alone in this, we are here for you. Every time you think you can't succeed, contact someone. Search the avatars for ones online and message to see if they can spend a few minutes talking with you, call a family member who is supportive and see if they can talk for awhile or come over. You are reaching out, many of us have been there or know someone else who is. If you find there is no one available, that is not a reflection on you, but everybody is busy and making time is hard. Just remind yourself, they may be available later on, so tell yourself I CAN HOLD ON A LITTLE LONGER.

OP....I'm glad you are going to spend more time here on ATS. As you can see...you have many friends rooting, praying for you. You are worth living a healthy happy life. You will accomplish this goal, I have faith in you.

I haven't denigrated anyone, nor am I trying to.

I hope you don't mind me saying but honestly, that's really astounding advice, in my opinion. I hope the OP, as well as those who may be reading from a similar position, take note of it. I imagine it will prove very helpful to a lot of people out there.
