If you saw this man during a vision from your childhood, he could be your spirit guide, and he materialized to help you when you needed it. The cigarette could have just been a prop to make you think he was human.

Or...

You could have been experiencing precognitive abilities that allowed you to see into the future when you were younger.

Do you remember what exactly was happening in your vision?

No way to know for sure, I suppose.

I once had a paranormal experience when I was held down in bed by the neck, and before you mention it, it was not sleep paralysis, I was fully capable of moving and pushed so hard against my bed I pushed the springs down and nearly sprung off my bed when it loosed me..I looked for so many scientific explanations to this there are non..before it happened I kept having recurring dreams hearing the name leviathan over and over again I even asked my mom if she knew what one was..It wasn't until the day after that experience that I Googled the name and came up with all biblical and demonic stuff, I still don't know if it's related or coincidence hearing that name. However before that night I was a skeptic of paranormal things and I'm not religious I've never been to church, I even questioned my own mental health..It only happened once and I've never heard that name in my dreams again...

Well, that sounds like pure evil to me. Evil will come to a person in their dreams and try to disturb/disrupt one's sleep to get them run down. When the physical body is tired from no sleep, that person is an easier target to possess. But that takes many nights of losing sleep to reach that point.

Sounds like you won that battle.

Had you or anyone else in your house ever played with a spirit board, or performed any satanic rituals that you know of?

Was this a house you all rented, or did your parents own it? Do you remember ever hearing anyone else talk about any paranormal experiences there?

On the subject of demons... There are different levels of "bad/evil" in the demonic world. Some are just pranksters, some are mischievous, and the higher up the ranks they go the more evil they are.

It sounds like whatever attacked you wasn't very strong, or it was just a low-ranking entity, if that was the only time it happened.

When I was around 10 my mom and aunt played with an ouiji board up in my uncles old farm house. An entity came through and told my Mom who she would meet in the near future. First and last name. It was dead on. Since that night the house has been plagued by negative energy and my family has been cursed. I have had a lot of experiences since then. Not really in the mood to hash it all out yet. Maybe soon. It came for me though. And when it did all I wanted was my life to go back to some kind of normal. I thank my God everyday it has..for now.

I wish people would realize that playing with spirit boards can be dangerous. An evil spirit doesn't come through every time, but it happens, as your family learned the hard way. Best not to take chances, in my opinion.

It's the people who have never had a bad experience that say they are not dangerous, but it's like playing Russian roulette; you never know when the bad bullet will be fired.

It can be hard talking about our paranormal experiences, but I promise, you are with like-minded people on this thread and you won't be ridiculed. Talking about it is good therapy, but if you feel that might bring the bad spirit back in, then I understand.

I've been followed around with paranormal activity since early childhood. Shadow people, spirits, OBE, visions, premonitions, you name it, I have it. It runs in my family. I've once been told it had to do with my family tree.

Anyways thought I'd share a funny incident, just to prove not all paranormal experiences are weird or scary.

I was working overseas, on a 2 year contract in Asia. I had settled in to a beautiful apartment, and this incident happened about 2 months after I moved there.

It was the weekend, and I was utterly bored. I mean so bored, I didn't know what to do. So I started watching the Bold and the Beautiful reruns (hides face in shame).

While I was sitting on the couch and watching tv, I had this feeling of loneliness come over me, and started thinking about how I wished I had someone to share my spare time with.

Whilst I was thinking this , during broad daylight, something pinned my arms to the couch and gave me a huge kiss on the mouth!!
Kind of like a 'welcome to our country" kiss, and "cheer up" kiss. After the kiss was over, I could move my arms again.

I assume it must have been a spirit hanging around and felt my loneliness , and thought this would be a fun way to cheer me up.

Well, needless to say, I had the hugest WTF moment ever!!! But it worked. I stopped pittying myself, went out more, and started dating.

I also started protecting my home with white light visualization on a regular basis after that, to avoid any more future unwanted visits. I've asked my guardian angels to only allow good spirits, passed on relatives, or good spirits/ angels with messages through the protection from that point on, and it has been that way for 14 years now, and it works, they got the memo. In the past 14 years I only had 1 demonic attack in my dream ( about 2 years ago), but I managed to wake up and get rid of it. (That's a story for another post, I suppose.)

Anyways, I strongly felt it was a spirit, and not had any bad intentions, just got the sense that it wanted to cheer me up, and it did. I've met many spirits in my life, but this was the only one that got physical.

I'm still reading all the stories. I'm currently on page 73, boy, I got lots of reading to do.

I just wanted to say, what a great thread you have!!!
I might come back in the future and post some other experiences I had.

Oh, and Simon Parkes is right about the shadow people. They followed me through my whole childhood and early teens, I always ran away from them, or switched on the light. I had this feeling they were bad or trying to get me (possibly because of my gifts). Other folks on the internet later told me they might be harmless, but I always knew better, because I always listen to my intuition.
I haven't seen them for 15 years now, and couldn't be happier. I guess I'm too old for them by now. They prefer children, not adults close to 40.

Here's another strange experience I had from a very strange period of my life. When I was 16, to my grandmother's and neighbor's encouragement I did a lot of experiments with meditation, visualization, telekinesis with some success, and tarot card reading.

I was helping my late mother in the kitchen. She asked me to help her boil some eggs while she cooked the other part of the dinner. While I was standing before the stove, watching the eggs boil, I suddenly had the strongest / strangest notion in my mind that I didn't need a spoon to lift out those hard boiled eggs.

I remember looking at my hand and then just plunging it into the boiling water, and took out one egg.
It didn't hurt, I didn't burn my hand, I was shocked. So I started taking out the other eggs, when my mother noticed and came running /shouting with fear:" What are you doing?"
I showed her what I was doing, getting out the eggs with my hand, and she just gave me that usual look and said: "You're a weird child."
Then she went back to her side of the kitchen.

I did this for many months I believe until I got bored of it, and moved on to something else.
Now close to my 40s I don't think I could do it again. Or it would take an enormous amount of focus and meditation before hand, whereas back then it came naturally.

Now to a recent experience I had about 2 years ago.
It happened at night, whilst I was dreaming. I must beforehand mention that I'm a very light sleeper, and lucid dreamer.
I was dreaming about work when suddenly my dream changed and in my dream I was in my bedroom , in my bed, my spouse sleeping next to me, and I was fully awake in my dream. I had a very bad feeling. My head was at the wall/window part. Suddenly a black demonic hand burst through the wall , grabbed my hair with its claws and started screeching and pulling my head. I fought it off, screaming.
Then when I woke up I could still here the last of the screech, and my hair was a mess. I checked the wall. It was gone.

I contacted a friend who got me in touch with a demonologist. He did a skype/online house cleansing with me (He lives in another country.), and after that everything was fine. I've been friends with that guy ever since.
Before that I didn't have any demon attack me for about 14-15 years,because I try to protect my home on a regular basis. (Though sometimes I admit, I'm lazy and forget.)

I also felt during the attack that this demon wasn't very strong. It seemed like some lower type demon just trying its luck.
That's what my intuition told me.

I don't mind talking about these things. I think it's important that we share our experiences so we can learn from them.

I don't think it was a demon, they are very rare and strong, probably just an evil spirit, bottom dweller. Lucid dreaming is awesome, but comes with its consequences as you have experienced. I tried to project into my daughters dream one night and just randomly saw the numbers 666 666 in the blue clouds I was flying in. I guess I should stop.

You could be right about it not being a demon, who knows. Thankfully it's gone.
I enjoy lucid dreaming and wouldn't give it up for the world. Every time a dream is starting to take a direction I don't like, I just change it.

I've never tried entering someone else's dream before. That sounds interesting. Sounds like an upcoming experiment.

That's fascinating!

That shows just how powerful our minds are. It also shows how the elite do things that take away our power as we grow older. Things like, putting fluoride in our water, GMO in foods, electromagnetic frequencies all around us with power lines, chem trails, cell towers, smart meters, and all kinds of electronic devices that bombard us constantly!
That's a subject for a different thread, so I'll stop here.

I'm glad you found your friend that helped you get rid of the demon.
As you stated, there are different levels of demons. Sounds like this one just needed to feed on a little fear, then he left.

Hi, Veracity. I hope you aren't running into any evil entities while you're out flying "our friendly skies". Sounds like the 666 is a warning to stay out of that area, or else it's messing with you. If things pick up, let me know. I have friends who can help.

Thanks Sled. That is the only time I have ever come into anything "evil" in dreams. It shocked me bc I am in a very good place in my life...very happy.

I have heard an evil voice one time...but when I was really really low. It would have been very scary to most people but I was not scared at all, more pissed off. I tried and tried to call the "number" over and over to try and hear it again but it quickly went away. The voice low and raspy and talked in a different language as if it was yelling at me. I couldn't understand but I knew he was trying to bring me lower, trying to make me question my sanity, but I knew and it didn't work. I quickly pulled myself out of that low period. I don't tell many people about this story bc...well, its pretty crazy but im anonymous here so its ok.

Hi Sled. I'm still lurking here. Nothing much unusual going on here except having recurring dreams that I am communicating with a group of people currently in the 1800's time period. I can not remember anything else but I know I've had dreams relating to it on multiple nights. This morning I woke up almost with a question left over. Do I want them to do something to prove it? A bit weird but weird seems normal for me. Hmmm, maybe my dream is trying to tell me I could be stuck in the past. I didn't think about that. The 1800's is before my time. Everyone wore a lot to their outfits too at least in my dreams.

The only thing in my house that reminds me of the 1800's was one incident when I thought I saw a female ghost standing beside me but she was dressed up in 1800's type clothing. That was the only time I seemed to visualize a person or actual ghost. I read someone somewhere suggest seeing an image of a ghost could be a leftover visual image in the head. In my case, possibly true. I just woke up and must have imagined for a fraction of a second seeing someone. At that time, I did not remember even thinking about a ghostly image from the 1800's. That was a few years ago so nothing much has been happening lately except weird dreams that I have trouble remembering.

I think their could be numerous explanations for your dream...

First, let me say the lady you saw could have been residual energy from a time period when she lived there. I can't say for sure, since I wasn't there.
On the other hand, if she is an intelligent spirit that is wishing to communicate, she could have appeared before you to get your attention; she wants to tell you something, or make you aware of something.

The fact that you dreamed of people from this era could come from picking up on residual energy around you, even on a subconscious level, and while you sleep, your mind is expanding it into a dream that isn't real.
OR...
She/they are finding another way to communicate their story to you. Communicating during the dream state is a common way for how/when spirits communicate with us.
OR...
It could also be memories of a past life (of yours), and she was someone close to you in that lifetime who is paying you a visit.
OR...
I have also read that we have many divisions of our soul that is living different lives all at the same time. It could be that this certain parallel lifetime is bleeding through the matrix which allowed you to get a glimpse of it.

I don't have the answer... just possible explanations. Go with the one that resonates as truth for you.
