Because many of the prophecies I noted above speak of Jews being drawn back from places all over the earth to the homeland of their ancestors and rebuiding it as it was before. An interpretation that predates Jesus would only include captives of one or two enemy countries, at most and would not take into account God's promise to turn Israel into a lush, green, producer of agriculture that it has become today but has not ever been previously in her history.

I don't consider Israel very green and lush. It is a harsh war zone of hate and troubles, were every day her inhabitants fear for their lives. A nation under the nuclear valley of the US, and a nation that has been in the Nuclear Valley of many.

Seriously. Practically the only thing modern Israel has ever done that seems from God was its victory in the 6 day war. Beyond that, it has raped and pillaged the Earth like all her neighbors, and troubled most of the world with fears of war and nuclear Holocaust.

This doesn't seem like a nation doing well for herself. Though of course, economically and militarily she is. That doesn't change the fact that in every other sector she's not the star God intended her to be.




Thus I repeat. Where is any real proof of prophesy coming true in our time period?

Out of curiosity, and im not versed in religious prophecies / histories in any sense of being able to speak intelligently in this discussion, was there not fruits and figs that were grown in Israel in the past that arent even around / lot smaller now?

Just recently they have found ancient (2k year old) dried figs among other artifiacts. The figs dont even exist anymore today. However they have managed to the whole DNA thing on the Figs and are currently in the process of reintroducing them.

This whole Iran war is a sham....Just like Iraq's WMDs that never existed Iran's Nuclear bomb program does not exist either, they need a good sell and a nuclear armed Iran is an easy one.

Read a very good article today which I wanted to share, it goes on to say that because Iran has now acquired the capability to launch conventional long range missiles into Israel, this puts Israels nuclear Installations and their stockpiles of nukes at risk especially the one in Dimona.

Any attack on such sites could have a devastating effect and that is what Israel is trying to prevent all the while using the Iran as nukes pretext to go to war....The article is below

There is some sort of strange thing with figs. Jesus used them in a few examples. He cursed one tree (commonly misread as saying he cursed all fig trees), and used it as an example of one age ending and another one beginning; of knowing when the end times near.


Essentially, for all we know, figs are a sign of things in season.

To be honest with you, I couldn't answer your question with any confidence. I do know that figs and dates are a big produce crop in Israel today along with almonds and olives which they export to the rest of the world. But as far as whether the figs grown today are of the same species as in ancient times, your guess is as good as mine.

I did not say they were not modern. I said they were suffering.

Furthermore, these advancements are from science, not God. Mere men doing work, financed by great wealthy people from the west.

What you showed me here can be said to practically anything, from Dubai to Egypt. It is not God's work. It is men's.


Men can make any nation they so desire, and make that nation a heaven or a hell, or a hell painted with heaven, which is what Israel is in my opinion.

Figs symbolize the jews. When Jesus cursed figs, He cursed the jews for rejecting Him.

Jesus said that when the fig tree puts forth leaves, the end is close. This refers to the state of (counterfeit-)Israel being created.
Matt. 24:32 Now learn a parable of the Fig tree (Jews); When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves (1948), ye know that Summer [is] nigh:
24:33 So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it (the end) is near, [even] at the doors.

This seems totally out of place as the Jews were fully supporting him just prior to the fig tree.

It seems far more likely that it is just a sight to show Jesus' authority. Nothing more.


In Mark 13, just before mentioning the figs, Jesus says

And then He will send forth the angels, and will gather together His [n]elect from the four winds, from the farthest end of the earth to the farthest end of heaven.

Seems a whole lot more likely that what he's saying is that humanity will be in her prime, on other worlds, and scattered through heaven when he returns.

“Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near.

In our golden age, we will meet our scorching summer.


It seems completely irreverent to Israel.
