Oh common, the straight at its narrowest point is 35 miles. They would have to sink a lot of ships and If you think the U.S. Navy wont sink the entire Iranian navy after the first ship is sunk by them your not thinking correct. Alright last i heard those were still decades from deployement but still with the defense cuts that means R and D will be cut too.

As well as with the massives disarmament by US the rest of the world still goes full speed ahead the majority of US weapon systems are based off decades old technology.

People assume this nations "military might" is the best in the word it is the most outdated in the world.

I never said it does! But once the first shots are fired and the first troops get killed, something that you or me has very very little to no control over, the justification will be there. People will defend the war if it does happen. I'm not saying with absolutely certainty that we will go to war with Iran, but I'm just saying that it's likely, and if it does, many people will support it.

Gonna burst some bubbles here but missile technicians do not equal "troops" and the only "shots fired" are missile drills.

I was under the impression R and D was seperate from the DoD budget.

Secondly as far as deployment goes, the F-117 Stealth fighter was actively flying towards the end fo the vietnam war. We recently saw with the pakistan raid we have advanced technology adapted to our helicopters, we have super advanced drones, we have made massive strides with space / plane / ship and im positive human based laser weapons.

Do we really thik we are going to gut our military without the ability to counter the dip with advanced weaponry? I think our enemies would take note more if we announced a massive cut and act like its not big deal.

Yes i do budget cuts mean budget cuts and they will filter into every facet of defense to make up for it which leads leads to more outsourcing and more loss of jobs and more dependence of Foreign suppliers.

They already do that.

As to the "advanced" systems we have seen like this high tech stealth helicopter that had to be destroyed and a drone that failed?

Does not give me any confidence there which means basically the "walmart us military" which has another name mostly used "Chinamart".

They are cutting our throats in more ways than one.

I have to be careful about what I say. I needed an outlet to keep my mental helth and anything I post here has either already been talked about or leaked or has been speculated upon. I CANNOT talk about anything that is classified and I cannot divulge my identity but because I am CIVY....and they need me...and I agreed to help them and have NEVER signed a contract....I am allowed latitude. But these perks could be very easily removed if I were to do something stupid so don't expect me to come forward with anything that is secret.

I come from a Military/"Civilian" family and my "Civilian" Mom was the assigned secretary to a USAF General who ran a massive SAC base close to my home. I also have other family members who are serving at the "Civilian" level. These types of jobs tend to stay within families and you need to have a certain IQ and take a test that shows you have a certain moral....flexibility. I was courted in my JR. Year of High School because of standard IQ tests they gave everyone back then and although I can't spell worth a lick...I have superior math and observational skills as well as having an understanding of theoretical physics. I also taught Survival and was a BOY SCOUT....that after I turned 18...went on with programs to teach inner city youths how to swim and survive...this continued on with higher training until I taught Men Winter, Ocean, Jungle...etc..survival. But back in my SR. year of High School I was being constantly pestered my recruiters of various branches of the Military...back then...they had offices in every High School. One day while this was going on...a family man I will call "Uncle" pulled me out of the schools guidence dept. and SAVED ME...and offered me a deal. I have three jobs...I help run several family buisnesses...I am a World Class Musician and have toured internationaly with bands such as Aerosmith, Heart, Robin Trower, Stained, Motley Crew...etc...but I also was thinking about going to MIT but GEEK vs. CHICKS....Chicks win! But I was offered this...we will train you...you can play and tour as this was perfect for their uses...and we will get you a degree...this part I cannot discuss. They needed someone who was both physically capable but of high IQ...mine is 174...rediculous isn't it? Still can't find my sunglasses or spell...but because my Dad was military...I had been practicing Martial Arts since I was a kid as well as being a crack shot...Dad bought me a 308 with scope when I was 12. and I trusted "Uncle" and still do. As I have walked this path I have learned one very important thing...there are some real EVIL #@&*%$# out there and they all make the same mistake. They stop thinking and keep yelling how powerful they are...they are not. I have had meeting with people like this and wait as they scream and threaten for 30 to 45 min...then when they are yelled out I say...there has been a decision made and you can be on the right side of this or the wrong side...this is your only warning and chance so yes or no? They all say YES! The only reasons wars break out is when these meeting do not occur or someone drops the ball...as was the case when Iraqs leader pre-war asked our Ambasador...a nice women...what is the U.S. position on Iraqs dispute with Kuwait over slant drilling? I think they meant Arab affair as in the 2 countries need to sit down and work it out. I dont think when they said Arab affair is was to green light the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait.
