congratulations, its been a long time since a 5+ for California.

yet to be downgraded

In fact they upgraded from 5.3 to 5.5 which is a bit unusual as most times it is downgraded.

I am so intricately sensitive to earth movements, I freaked out two other workers. I shouted out "earthquake. get ready to move" before they felt anything at all and thought I was kidding at first. Now one of them keeps looking at me strange, like Im from outer space or something.

Actually USGS just upgraded it to a 5.6. Take a look earthquake.usgs.gov...

No, todays EQ is in the southern CSZ. Yesterdays was in the northern SAF.

Im trying to remember if I have ever seen an EQ in that particular area I cant remember if I have ever. East of Trinidad past the A-line. Kinda strange. Hmmmmm?

That is interesting. 2 upgrades so far. Not usual. And another oddity, below are the three EQs from yesterday in Norcal. (Ignore the times given as they are in UTC) Check out the depth of these quakes. Has anyone ever seen a 0.1 km depth EQ before?

Norcal is starting to rock, and in ways Ive never seen before. Oli and TA, any more predictions? And please try and be more specific than 3 miles away.

Man folks......There sure has been a whole lot of activity really close to that major junction of faults up there in N. California

There is a guy who predicted a 5+ in California in the last week. I will try to find it in another thread and post the link........I have been uneasy for the last week thinking somewhere on this little blue ball, we are going to get pounded by a monster quake...hope I am wrong!

The one near Cobb yesterday is in the Geysers area, but todays isnt near anything volcanic in nature. And no fracking that I know of in this area

Speaking of Fracking, I have no idea about what one of those facilities looks like, but you reference the 4.3 from earlier in the week (yesterday). Here is the data and a link from the USGS to Google Maps. What is that facility at the heart of the action? Any ideas?

Here is the location from a 4.3 in Northern California from earlier this week. What is that facility that it was near? Looks very interesting from here in SF, as the video above references fracking. I have no idea what this site is, but it looks to be in the middle of no where -- right at the location of the quake. Thoughts???????

Data from USGS: 4.3

I believe that you might be referring to my post here recently, where I stated that a psychic whose newsletter I follow, claimed the following on Feb 7th:

3. I predict a major tremor will strike California near the middle of this month.

Can't predict much better than that, IMHO

Like it says on the road beside it - probably was a mine once. Follow the pipes and you come to several pools, but also they go underground.

When I first looked at it i thought geothermal and

Actually the more I look at it the more I believe that is power generation from thermal

Ha!!! This is the Geysers. You never said that! The heliport is right next to the power plant.

Thank you PuterMan! This quake didn't get tagged as "Geysers" on my USGS Feed - It said Anderson Springs. I always thought they were different. And. . .THERE COMES PUTERMAN to the rescue!

Thanks for the clarification. Only been in the Bay area 3yrs, but look at that data everyday. So, throwout Anderson Springs with the Geysers data and just look for anomolies, huh?

Understand the Geysers issues, but have a hard time really understanding what is "worthy of note". Thanks for your kind response and sorry to mislead everyone.

In particular which of those little bumpy things were you looking at?

The sharp ones or the flat ones? Without listening I would guess small quakes for the spikes and trains for the flat ones. (ETA: But they could be lorries)

I just lurve the VHZ channel

CBN.US.00.VHZ.2012.044

Costa Rica and Northern California.

Yup. Trains. Closest point to the track (twin tracks) 3.36 miles and they sort of curl round it on a radius there.
