I am not a 100% sure...I was playing a game, heard something weird I did not recognize before and then shortly after a rumbling occured which moved everything for a short time.

They now said the Quake had a duration of 26 seconds.. I called my sisters boyfriend as she is staying with him and they are in unterägeri which is just above Zug to where the epicenter was and they felt a little bit...maybe cause they are on a higher elevation then we are...but all my mates felt it to be quite strong and moved stuff around..

I dunno..but this is the very first time I felt such an earthquake in lucerne and I live here since I am 8 and I am now almost 29!!!

I know, here it is before is news.

Winter always bring an increasing in the number of earthquakes/maybe because of the low temperatures, the exchange of temperature could bring some contractions and dilatations corroborated with other things and the history of the region (or no history).

As about the noise depends where you are compared to the epicenter, everyone can feel and hear different.

Something going on at CERN, maybe?

Initial noise of bang followed by rattling of windows, and then a moderate swaying -whole sequence of events lasting about 15-20 seconds. Some rumbling also heard as if the explosion was buried beneath the house. My bed rocked back and forth as if on a ship in a moderate swell about 3-4 times. Several neighbours came outside to investigate.

Felt and heard like two explosions deep down in the earth

Very strange feeling. Although I am used to earthquakes,as I come from Greece, this was something else... The floor was shaking in high frequency, windows were shaking too, with a very strong noise from outside. as if it was coming from the lake...the earthquake stopped suddenly with an explosion feeling at the end... Too strange...duration about 6 seconds but too strong...

interesting that it was more like a detonation than shaking

Really strange Testimonies..

Many people are trying to connect earthquakes to the Sun. I do not disagree with this I just have yet to come up with the proper connection in my opinion.

This page is NOT about earthquakes but is entitled: One possible explanation for the cyclicity in the Sun. (SEE LINK BELOW BEFORE COPYING ALL THAT OUT)

It is in 8 parts and frankly the web site is appalling and quite difficult to read. Despite that it is a fascinating read and goes back to cycles many hundreds of millions of years ago deduced from rock samples.

The paper is all about the various cycles of the Sun (and about the coming Grand Minimum) but in there I suspect is the confirmation of the Sun affecting earthquakes. The 55 year cycles seems to tie in to me but there are some periods where it does not match but this it seems may be explained by the other cycles that are overlaid on each other cancelling out.

I have created a PDF of the site (109 A4 pages in all) that much more readable and you can get a copy of it here.

Mid 2011 I did quite a lot of work in the same direction and it was then noted how strong Jupiter influence is on the Sun; and visa versa. From there indicators of effects on Earth. However I reached another question, still not answered.

What exactly causes the ecliptical orbits of Jupiter; and all the other planets? The further the planet's orbit from the sun, the more ecliptical. The only answer I can accept at present is "The Galaxy" though NOT yet verified to my own satisfaction.

Why I know what you mean by that??? Is this a cause of something bigger to come??? We are not ready for a massive earthquake in Switzerland, we are not!

I know that the Africas plates are crushing against ours.. but why here...why in switzerland?

Calm down.

Noises, bangs etc. are sometimes heard before or during quakes. This doesn't mean that Switzerland is going to be devastated by a big earthquake.

Unfortunately those things happen and nobody can really tell when they're going to happen.

Of course I can't tell you why there, or what exactly happened.

About two weeks ago, Northern Italy was active. The Swiss quake was probably influenced by Italy moving.

I live right near Fermi lab (the smaller CERN) and a few years ago, right around this time (2/10/10), we had an earthquake and it was EXACTLY like this one. This was in Northern Illinois, away from any known faults, it had the same explosion feeling at the end. Here's the thread www.abovetopsecret.com...
