And for what reason? Oil? Domination?

Those Rothschild puppets in the US, UK and Israel need to wiped off the planet. Not innocent people of Iran and the Middle East!!

You must be really stupid if you think the US would nuke Iran, stop over reacting and calm down,

OK, WARMONGERS,

Go and kill yet more innocent people.

When will you ever learn.

A message to warmongers - you will never go to Jesus, or Buddha - you will go straight to the devil.

Oh here is another good post...

Yeah so, what about those who have had a plan to wipe Israel of the maps for the past 20yrs, stands to reason the US should draw up its own plan

The OP has been modified to reflect a valid headline, link and story...

US military 'ready to engage in a conflict with Iran'

General Martin Dempsey, chairman of the US joint chiefs of staff, said that the US military had reached a point where they were ready to execute force against Iran if necessary.

In an interview with US media in Afghanistan he said: "We are examining a range of options. I'm satisfied that the options that we are developing are evolving to a point that they would be executable if necessary." )

Sounds like smoke and mirrors to me, surely the US could easily engage with Iran, its not like the tension is new and I find it hard to believe plans haven’t been circulating for months at the very least. I am not sure if this is common of the US but it seems strange they wouldn’t have planned it all out much sooner. Reminds me of a sprint race when the athletes are set, waiting for the shot to go guns blazing.

I don't see anything new about this. It has been stated time and time again that all options are on the table. Of course they have plans for an invasion of a potential threat plotted out and prepared for deployment if the option is chosen.

If we go to war now, OBAMA will not win the election. I know the people don't have the memory of a gold fish... look what we went though with bush and the Iraq war... OMG WMD's!!! we went to war... and what did we find? nothing, nada, zip... ZILCH! same propaganda, different country.

now they are planning the war... most likely to see the public reaction... and this comes 1 week after the foreign policy debate... I see this as a possible way to get voters to stick with obama... but its not going to work. people arent stupid this time around. we all learn from our mistakes, the government doesn't and the people know they are the ones who can fix this broken system. This may been good PR for good ol ronnie because he's the only anti-war candidate and i am certain this country and its people are sick n tired of being the worlds policemen.

We also planned and prepared for a ground war in Europe. What's the point here?

Obama has a man crush for FDR. Roosevelt was elected 4 times. Since Obama is a complete dictator and loves communism and it's not so manly cousin socialism, staying in power as El Presidente really appeals to him and he's likely trying to start another World War, and thus get a consecutive term in office and then another term and then another term and then another term.

Riddle me this Batman? How many Presidents have been elected for a consecutive term during wartime?

Actually we need to take out Israel first.

We have been flapping jaw about Iran for a long time and nothing has happened. Nothing will happen either.

So...we made plans to attack Iran...

like we didn't beforehand...and any other nation on earth for that matter.
Folks, this is just the standard military using the media for propaganda in order for Iran to submit to whatever the latest thing is (better inspections of nuke facilities or whatever). If this was some significant step, it wouldn't be in the media...

So, the question is, why is the noise level being kicked up so high as of late? too far out for elections, and it won't be a war..so it may simply be pressure for compromise in order to appease israel and saudi arabian politics.

Oh...and one more thing...

About this whole "omg, Obama wants to go to war with Iran to win an election" bullocks.

no...Obama's supporters have an ideology of stopping war..if he was thinking like that, he would lose lots of his base and moderates..only the paradox warmonger left wingers would stick with him...and the moderate republicans might shift towards him...

War is a right wing ideology (yer eithur with us, or 'gainst us)

Just the same ol' same ol' war mongering BS (not directed at the OP, just my rant)! I personally, am appalled (if said story has any truthfulness)! I'm so sick and tired of "dis n dat" in the name of America. Am I insane or is our government just hungry for more (or the powers within)? I wonder.....and ponder the day when we can openly discuss our issues without the cause to arm and invoke our military to more murderous events. Please, spare me your "it's necessary in the name of democracy". What freakin' democracy? This has the appearance of insanity IMHO!

Listen, as I have stated in so many of my post prior, I am a daughter of a Green Beret aka Advisor/Vietnam Vet (served Operation Ranch Hand before the war was a war) who I and you all will forever be indebted to and proud of whether you like it or not (now deceased as of 8/06/2007 and died in my arms of Agent Orange/Blue/White and Pink at the West Los Angeles VA Facility) and these continuos notions of endless wars just breaks my heart...and so would break his heart and his fellow soldiers who raised arms to protect this crackpot of a Nation we have become. No warrior/soldier wants to endure another "shake at the crap table"! Can't you all see the hipocrisy...the enumerated events about to take place? What is our American society becoming...wake the F### UP!

This government is waaaaayyyyy out of control and insane

ETA:
I'm sick to my core of sniffing this ####
Yeah, yeah, yeah...I know, the Army will pay me another visit...F### you and who cares! As a matter of fact, I'll have biscuits and tea awaiting you on your next vist. If this happens, I'm done...and my done doesn't coincide with the classic definition of DONE!

We git it duda, you want revolution, looking through your 'threads' it sort of gives you a picture of your mindset.

People, I don't think you need to worry just yet, it's nowhere to be found in the news, and I doubt it will be, this would better go on 'Coast to Coast' but they have standards you know, George wouldn't touch this with ........ well you get the point. We'll just have so suffer through another day of uneventful peace.....bummer huh!

The thought that Iran WOULD get his nuclear bomb within one year...triggering an arms race in the middle east with all those NUT FREAKS down there getting nuclear weapons - this thought is *at least* as frightening as the USA attacking Tehran.

To be even more direct, the thought that we attack them is less "disturbing" than the thought that Iran, Arabs, Israel etc. get nuclear weapons. If those nut people get them (which Iran obviously is trying to do!) then its only a matter of time til the whole region "blows up" (literally).

Those leaders are not rational, they are ##### crazy nuts and hate everything Western and Israel in particular. I don't want them to have nuclear weapons!

I don't agree with "us" having piles of nuclear weapons (usa, china, russia etc..)..but at least we are still halfway "rational". People who shout Allah Akhbar while they blow people up and who fight "holy wars" are NOT rational. This is the difference.

Tell that to the Bolsheviks, the Chinese communist Party, to Castro, etc.!

War is not actually an ideology at all - it is a tool to achieve an end, and all manner of humans have chosen to use it or "fallen into it" - it has no boundaries of useage.

Having read the article, the following can be stated:

This is not surprising or should be a shock to any one. As long as countries have militaries, one of the functions of said militaries would be to fight. To that end, the leaders of said militaries, would be a fool not to come up with plans to attack and different scenarios for different countries and alliances. The US has been doing such since WWI. It would be more of a shock, if they stated that they were now coming up with plans, that would be the real shocker.

No we ain't either..but please compare. We could have blown ourselves up multiple times already and did not. We have nuclear weapons for 70! years now. With all due respect, i don't trust "our" governments a lot...but FOR SURE not those "back in the stone age" governments in the middle-east which are 1000x worse.
