US military 'ready to engage in a conflict with Iran'

General Martin Dempsey, chairman of the US joint chiefs of staff, said that the US military had reached a point where they were ready to execute force against Iran if necessary.

In an interview with US media in Afghanistan he said: "We are examining a range of options. I'm satisfied that the options that we are developing are evolving to a point that they would be executable if necessary." )

EDIT : Apparently they are ``planning`` for an attack on Iran, they have not ``decided to go all in`` yet.

Well here it comes. War before the election, bet on it.

No president has EVER LOST if the election happened during a war. Obama is going all in.

This is gonna be nasty. Hang on to your hats. Oil is gonna explode, Russia and China are gonna be pissed, the middle-east is about to turn into fire... a military draft is very possible...

Will we see false-flags to shut up whoever opposes the war (everybody)?? Probably.

The economy will crater that's for sure, but of course it will be blamed on big bad Iran...

The military needs to ARREST CONGRESS NOW before all hell breaks loose! The election is too far. The government won't listen to the protests... time for the army to step it up.

Just note that December 24, there's no moon... perfect time for an air strike on Iran... and people will be distracted. IMO it's too close, but you never know with these bastards.

it figures the u.s. chief of staff will tell the people of israel first.

the rest of us in n.america will find out when we look out a window and see a russian intercontinental ballistic missile with multiple nuclear warheads re-entering earth's atmosphere 5 mins. before it impacts and obliterates your city.

I've been reading the Haaretz ticker every day for the last 2-3 years, and there's lots of news coming out of Channel 10, always truthful.

Well not really. Iran knows it. Has known it for years. Saying that the US prepares to attack Iran ain't giving the war plans.

It's like saying the guy next door is preparing to come and kill you, but you don't know at what time or what day he's coming or where he's gonna enter your house.

Really? Seems to me people have been taking it up pretty passively in the last 10 years.

Just stage a new 9/11 with a dirty bomb or something and the sheeple will flock to the military to go kill some towel heads.

if there is another war I think we'd better think about what we're going to tell our kids when it's all said and done and why we didn't act sooner to make sure our government/military wasn't able to go through with it for the country's sake.

sure they can beat them logistically with tactical means and superior weaponry, but there would be no justifying the doubt in the hearts and minds of innocent Americans after.

I honestly do not see a draft coming. The USMIL is too dependant on their high-tech toys. A draft would only happen if there was a long war that required bodies on the ground. While Iran *could* make that happen (due to their terrain and geographic location), I think it would spiral quickly in a more devastating (nuclear) direction before that.

I can see using a gulf of tonkin type incident to start the war, though. Would make it easier for general public to swallow and guarantee RP would not get a snowball's chance in hell of getting elected.

They are really going to do it. They are going to vaporize millions of innocent people.

And for what reason? Oil? Domination?

Those Rothschild puppets in the US, UK and Israel need to wiped off the planet. Not innocent people of Iran and the Middle East!!

Speaking in an interview with CBS Evening News, Leon Panetta said that it would probably take a year for Tehran to assemble a nuclear bomb...
