Umm you didn't know that communism had spread to Viet Nam, Cambodia, and Laos? Know why there's a North and South Viet Nam and a North and South Korea? It's because the Southern parts of these countries dont want communism and the Northern parts do.

Really? I'm sorry if I've hurt your national pride, it was not my intention, as I was targeting a specific attitude, not a nationality. However, why do you think I'm even remotely interested to answer "these questions in sincerity", when all of your post is a personal attack?

Not this ``argument`` again... Yeah they have plans for every country, but they do not update them every week/month. I doubt they even update the unlikely plans (almost all of them) every 10 years.

They update them by the day. If the President asked, "Alright, how do we take out Great Britain?" he'd have the answer on his desk in 15 minutes with every conceivable answer from nuclear strike to limited strikes on airports and harbors along with current RN ship locations. It sounds stupid, but it is how it is done. Some poor, young staff officer gaining job experience is right now drawing up the current order of battle (disposition of forces) for any country you can name.


I will say that the kind of language used is what makes me think we're headed down that road. It would not surprise me at all to see an attack on Iran before the November elections.

If the US of A decides to attack Iran I feel it will be the end of the US of A and more than like the beginning of WW3. Iran is not Iraq, nor Libya. That would be one hornest's nest that, I feel, they would sincerely end up regretting ever having disturbed. They have much bigger backers too, one's that will not sit by idly twiddling their thumbs as the "World's police" goes about creating mayhem for political and personal gain, yet again I might add.

I am sure there will be gunho americans coming telling the US of A can declare war on any nation it decides etc.. please keep the pride in your pants on this occasion.

I'm afraid this can really happen. And Iran is no Iraq or Libya. They actually have an army.

I feel sorry for the Iranians, that country had a lot of back luck. During 2nd ww Russia and Britain invaded it to use their oil to defeat the Nazi's. Then Mossadegh tried nationalize oil to rebuild their country. But Britain didn't want to give it up. MI6 and the CIA plotted a coup, Operation Ajax was executed, dictator brought to power, 24 year brutal regime. Now we are here.

Don't be silly.

What has become of the US? During 2nd world war they were the heroes of all heroes.Single handedly defeated the Japanese, liberated Europe, defeated the Nazis. (together with Canada, Britain and Russia of course). Everybody loved America.

Has taken 60 years to become one of the most hated countries. Things sure change fast.

Don't you guys think that 2nd WW was the only honorable war of this century? The only one that made sense.

I agree with you completely. I don't see this as breaking news. After reading the article, all I saw pointed out is that there are plans in place, and that if necessary the U.S. is in position for a military strike. Nothing new there, and nothing that the anyone in the world hasn't know for a long time.

To be honest I think you're opening a can of worms with your comment and it could probably save for another thread. It's certainly something people like to debate, myself included.

But talking of worms and cans, an attack on Iran is likely to unleash a titanic one.

It's been mooted for so long and I think eventually Israel will just say enough is enough.

Well this history should not be shoved under the carpet. Like Rick Santorum tried to do during Republican debate, Ron Paul (what a decent guy) had to correct him.

Can mark this thread in the Iran - USA hype section, nothing we haven't heard before. USA has been making it known for years that they want to murder Iran and they haven't yet. Obviously something is stopping them or it would of happened already. So don't count on it.

Come on guys, US and Israel have been planning this attack for 2 years. I bet they already did tons of stuff on simulator and know all the targets in Iran. The only problem they have is that Iran is a bit more powerful than they anticipate and it has the full support of Russia and China so it is not easy to mess with them. An example of that is the capture of the RQ drone.

I bet USA will get a serious ass wooping if they decide to do another pre-empty strike. They would lose probably half of their fleet within hours if Iran launches their supersonic antiship missiles that they have hidden near the straits of Hormuz.

More logical would be if only Israel did a 5day bombing on the reactors since Iran cannot retaliate seriously on Israel except than throwing a few dozen of missiles to Tel Aviv. No big deal in my opinion.

Where did either of them say this, exactly? Russia has been eyeing ports on the Gulf since the time of Peter the Great, so that explains why they pretend to be so friendly. China committed atrocities against the theocracy in Tibet and is persecuting the Muslim minority in Xianjiang, so I don't see them as being ideologically aligned with Tehran. Of course, if war should break out between the US and Iran, China would be more than happy to express its "outrage," while declaring itself neutral, so it can sell arms to Iran without losing its valuable consumer goods market in the US. Don't confuse self-interested diplomacy with friendship.

The US military has plans for invading/liberating every country in the world, even the Vatican, Andorra, Lichtenstein, and Monaco. Of course, some of them have a lot of dust on the files.
