My brother had ADHD and swam on the swim team. He was awesome at it.

All these kids need is stimulation. A friend of mine had bad ADHD and mild tourettes. What did his parents do? Bought him a drum kit. Now he is an amazing drummer and when he started drumming he lost all his tics and all symptoms of tourettes.

On topic.. no sense in a cop ever tying up a 5 year old. Retarded. Take his badge for lack of common sense.

ADHD---ADHD---ADHD---ADHD---ADHD---ADHD---ADHD---ADHD---ADHD---ADHD---ADHD---ADHD---!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am sick of hearing it.They now use that as the catch all for everything. If they had there was every kid would be labeled as having ADHD the second they were born.
We are going to end up having an entire generation hooked on drugs to treat ADHD. I know that ADHD is real but not everyone has it. The war on drugs is just that. It is a drug war between the street drug dealers and the government licensed drug dealers of the big drug companies. I am starting to think it is a long term plan to get everyone on government sold drugs. It is real easy to control everyone when they are out of their minds on drugs.

ATTENTION AMERICANS! You really, really have to do something to stop these animals, i would if i could but because i'm not American and i'd immediatly be labelled a terrorist.
C'mon, we are all relying on you to stop this because your the only ones who can.

Well said m8y.
As I said in my own post, we must rise up and throw them out of office.
I dont mean to offend but the most that will happen is people will voice their opinions in forums such as this and then forget about it.

Because of the T/C I cant start a new thread YET. Anyone want to start a new thread discussing idea's for action to remove police from schools?

To those who say the child deserved it I say this. Your posts offend me. Does that mean I can call the pigs and have you arrested? after all, just like you, the child had NOT committed a crime.

If they stick to arresting DANGEROUS criminals I'll call them Policeman. Arrest little children and I'll call them PIGS.

Precisely. And the government drugs are a chemical labotomy. Thats why we have so many parents who dont have even the most basic instincts such as how to raise children.

My emotional response to the flood of videos showing these power-tripping cops is getting precariously close towards outweighing my logical realization that law enforcement officials are needed it a civil society. What's the point when the cops are the criminals? I feel bad for the good cops as much as I do those assaulted by the SS brownshirt losers because the latter group is rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreally engendering a deep-seeded disdain in our society of law enforcement officers in general. And that disdain is not unwarranted. Law enforcement, ironically, is clearly an attractive profession for violent, sociopathic thugs.

The long term plan started a looong time ago !!

the drug problem has infiltrated the parents.

and the grandparents.

Ritalin has been around a long time.

Ritalin

Profile

Methylphenidate, brand name Ritalin, is an amphetamine-like central nervous system stimulant used to treat attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children, adolescents, and adults, as well as narcolepsy.1 It is a Schedule II controlled substance.2

Ritalin is just one brand name for methylphenidate. Sustained- or extended-release formulas of methylphenidate are sold as Ritalin SR, Ritalin LA, Metadate ER, Metadate CD, Methylin ER, and Concerta.3

History

First synthesized in 1944, the Ritalin formula (at that time commonly known as MPH, from methylphenidate) was improved in 1950, and by 1954 it was being tested on humans. In 1957, Ciba Pharmaceutical Company began marketing MPH as Ritalin to treat chronic fatigue, depression, psychosis associated with depression, narcolepsy, and to offset the sedating effects of other medications. It was used into the 1960s to try to counteract the symptoms of barbiturate overdose. For a short time MPH was sold in combination with other products, particularly a tonic of MPH, hormones and vitamins, marketed as Ritonic in 1960, intended to improve mood and maintain vitality. 4

Research on the therapeutic value of Ritalin began in the 1950s, and by the 1960s, interest focused on the treatment of "hyperkinetic syndrome," which would eventually be called Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.5 In the United States, the use of Ritalin and other stimulants to treat ADHD steadily increased in the 1970s and early 80s, but between 1991 and 1999, Ritalin sales in the United States increased 500 percent.6,7 The United Nations reports that the United States produces and consumes as much as 85 percent of the worlds production of Ritalin.8

one thing always leads to another.

many police officers have been drug use victims also.....

think about THAT !

I can assure you this is a very real condition and you obviously have had no experience dealing with a child who has it-I hope you never do so you dont have to experience comments like that

When children are getting ready to enter kindergarden parents are given a list of 100 things they have to be able to do when they start to be able to succeed -most of which we (I was born in 1971 entered kindergarden in 1976) were not expected to know before 2nd grade. Its almost like they arent expected to be children anymore but small adults. In the district my daughter attends for example there are preschool associated with each elementary school-one for "normal" kids -which might have 10 or 11 kids and one called "developemental" or "handicapped" preschool-theoretically this is for children who legitimately have special needs-hearing impairment, blindness, autism etc but the district uses it to put children in it who have no other problem but not making the cutoff date or being an only child-to the extent this class generally has 25 to 30 kids in it-and how do the children who have actual special needs get any help when the girl sitting next to them is an only child who missed the cutoff date by 5 days and has ample playmates and is actually reading already? This truly happened to a friends daughter. This gets money for the district.

Actually.. I am with you. My brother was diagnosed with it, and didn't need to be. The medicine just made him act crazy and speed. He would have to do something to burn off the extra energy after school.

I talked my parents into taking him off the medicine. He's fine now, 8 or so years later.
Kids are hyper that is their nature. People here are gonna say it's a real thing blah blah. Nah. If it's real then it is rare cases, and most likely some other disorder completely.

This cop was aggressive, and made the situation worse.

And you know this how?

The cop did his job, what he was expected to do, and your eagerness to judge him is proof that you really don't even want to consider that you could be wrong.

My child didn't have to be re-integrated, she has succeeded from the beginning, because she was taught to respect others from the beginning. I have dealt with children who have problems, and if you set a precedence from the beginning, where you demand their respect, you get a whole lot further, than trying to play the games they want to play, which is what you advocate.

What ever experience you may have, your methods have been proven to be a failure, much to blame for societies ills these days, where a cop has to be called in to deal with a five year old.

No - - that is not all they need. It is definitely a big part of what they need.

My daughter was 9 before she could be left alone without supervision. She did not have an aggressive behavior problem - - but she did have a "thinking focus" problem.

You know what they used to call "intelligent eccentric"? A brilliant mind - with no real life common sense. Those people today would most likely fall under the "ADHD/Autism" Spectrum. This is all one giant umbrella. Each child is an individual - with individual problems/needs.

Just because one child under ADHD/Autism Umbrella - - - succeeds - - - does not mean all will or can.

My daughter excelled at abstract puzzles and is/was highly intelligent. She had ZERO attention span on a one-to-one. Physical contact (as in squeezing her hands) was required when speaking to her. Once she got info into her brain - she knew it. Getting it in there was the problem.

She had a dysfunction in brain signals. As was explained to me - - her brain had to reroute info from the "normal" path - - finding an alternate route to get info where it needed to be. Her doctor told me if it was not brain damage - - it would most likely correct itself to some degree when she went through puberty. Which it did.

That would indicate there is a definite problem in brain chemicals.

I am one of the lucky ones who had an amazing doctor. He even took a whole day off from his practice - when the school administrators/teachers/psychologist did her evaluation. He made sure he was there.

He worked with the school on how to work with these type kids. He said - - they must remain in regular class - - they do not belong in Special Ed. They can go to special classes - - but then must return to regular class to be with their peers. He said the most important thing is their self-esteem. They should not be separated from "society" - their peers. They should never be made to feel stupid or separated.

My daughter had a cardboard screen on her desk to keep her from being distracted. The class had 2 extra screens so the other kids in the class could have the same experience she did.

Today is she is full functioning with only minor problems in reading/writing. She drives one of those humongous trucks in a gold mind.

.....Are these "lists" part of a national program, or is this a local/state agenda?

Could the people making the decisions actually be victims themselves of mis-diagnosis and perhaps suffering from drug after effects?

I would bet if you asked, they will tell you "sorry, all that is private".
How can someone safely trust these programs?

This gets money for the district.
Where does this money come from?
And, who actually benefits financially?

I know this because i watched the video. its quite obvious.

The cop didnt do his job, the cop assaulted a 5 year old.

You obviously have ZERO experience with children who have actual behavioral and social problems. And thats fine, not everyone has.

Ill ask again, for, I dont know, the umpteenth time: what is your proof that my methods fail and physical domination of a child succeeds?

The cop did his job...???

Did you read the thread? The cop walked in and put his hand on the Child. The cop had no right to touch the Child unless he was causing a danger to himself or someone else. No offence - you need to develop depth to your thinking. The cop did not do his job - he overreacted and behaved like a thug. No Police officer on this planet has the right to treat a five year old this way.

If you sincerely think the cop did his job - then I can understand why the world is in the mess it is.

Much Peace...for all the Children being taught to trust that Police officers will help you - when it is obviously not the truth...

As far as I can tell - - the cop was called to do just that.

As far as I can tell from this story - - this child was a dangerous behavior problem - - and the cop was called to stop/remove the child.

Your personal emotions do not fit the situation.

What is obvious is that you have no concerns for the truth. I watched the video, and no where does it show the actual incident in question, it gives the mother's version and the police report. Now you are just making stuff up.

The vast majority of parents out there who teach their kids that they can not use physical domination to get their way, who physically restrain their kids, and when necessary, physically punish them, is the proof that you are wrong. That the vast majority of kids who grew up this way turn out to be well developed human beings is the proof.

People like you are the problem.

Um, wrong, if you misbehave in a way that makes you a nuisance in public, it is the cops job to restrain you, even if you are five, and your parents are not restraining you.

Because of people who think like you, teachers are no longer allowed to used physical restraint on a child, so now they have to call the police. You, like cptknots, just don't get it, and have no desire to open your minds to the problems your beliefs create.

You're not serious, surely?!

You DID read the salient part of the OP didn't you...you know, the part that stated he was a FIVE YEAR OLD CHILD!!!

Blimey, you're not talking about an off the rails teenager even, but a very young little boy still wet behind the ears!

Incredible.
