No double standard is in play here because what we want is people posting that are offering solutions to make a better world for all but since we are against the AJ and Paul brigades from being able to disrupt the site is somehow a "double standard"? Get real!

Remember the Birther and Tea Party threads that tried to dominate and invade ATS and you see now how both have been pushed back so much that they aren't taken seriously anymore? Same exact threat assessment was made to determine the banning.

It is because ATS has realized that to block or limit this movement may not be a very wise idea and are allowing us and our platform here for which we are most thankful to the mods and Admins here for allowing us this opportunity here.

ATS has a Social Issues and Civil Unrest forum, Occupy falls into that category. If this site were strictly Aliens and UFO's or Crytpo-zoology, I would expect not to be able to discuss Occupy here and go where I could dicuss it and not have a tantrum about it.

At the beginning of the movement the majority of ATS OWS threads here were in overwhelming support.

PREcisely. think for like 2 seconds. what's good about that? what's bad about that? apply that to other people's opinions as well. if you can't, don't call yourself a supporter of 99%, because you're not. you expect a certain amount of the population to be bereft of their rights and are using private property law to do that. which is dine and fandy, no probs with that, but what does it say about you?

The main reason OWS is angry at them and the 'fringe movement' (what they call it) is that Ike came down to a rally in Z park and hawked his books and stuff.. They were mad at that.. The OWS in not about coming down and making a buck off their crowds.. Which I agree... Hell, even Art Bell blacklisted him from his show in the late 1990's.. Ike is a mean guy if you don't become his 'yes man'..

Alex 'advertising and selling books' Jones is just a joke... he is a fear monger to the nth degree.
Ike isn't the first to try to capitalize on the OWS, and won't be the last... it muddies their message.. whatever that is..
