China will NOT invade Australia.

We got your back. Just relax. We know what we are doing.

We don't swallow the fear pill here in Australia like many other countries do. If China wants to invade us, then we are screwed whether or not you have troops stationed in our country or not. That's if they don't get completely lost in the thousands upon thousands of square kilometres of nothingness and outback that we have to offer any potential invading entities.

As I had posted earlier, its your choice. And saner heads than yours had made theirs.

Your forefathers too made the right choice when the japs attacked in '42 and joined the allies and stretched the pathetic jap army and fleet thin, but should China launches an assualt, it make the japs look like boy scouts on parade. The China of today is no pushover, and unfortunately, they have no rule of law gov in place except corrupted dictators.

There is no need for any 'fear pill'. Seek for the truth and it will set you free to make your choice, to live in a civilised society or forever be chased and hunted down, never knowing peace and freedom.

What's the big deal? You know Australia is an ally of the US so if they both want 2500 troops there who are you or China to say anything about it and yeah it seems like USA is not scared of China but China scared of the USA.

It's not like China is actually anywhere CLOSE to Australia and heres a news flash for you China doesnt own the F****** ocean! Were closer to China in afghanistan!

I know. Most Aussies know this. We aren't afraid or anxious, we are always quite relaxed (despite the fear pills being offered to us)!

Seriously though, if we are invaded then we'll just send our army of Dropbears after them! I guarantee you'll never see a Chinese soldier run away quicker than when he gets a look at one of them!!!

Jesus! I hope you people manage to put someone else in who actually has control of it's self.

No such luck. A year until the elections, and already it seems Obama is almost assured of a second term due to the ineptness of the Republican leaders. You wouldn't have this problem with my preferred candidate in office.

Well your PM is a woman and seems like Obama is just being the man and taking control. Why do have a woman leader? Haha!

I am one of the few Americans that agree with you. What is happening here is making me sick.We are slowly following in the footsteps of ancient Rome, and will soon be just another fallen civilization. What we have here is a desperate leader who is trying to show some muscle, to prove to all in the world that we are still on top. What a joke.

Have you checked the recent polling data?

Obama 48 % / Newt 46%

When an actual election takes place the - undecided - always vote for the challenger.
--- Translation: Newt 52% / Obama 48% ---

Whoa mate, way to be completely sexist. She may not be the brightest or most popular person but we don't hate her because of the fact she is female.

Does Margaret Thatcher ring any bells? Or are you way to young for that?

Wow, I seriously felt a few brain cells die when I read that.

You are either trolling badly or you are a sexist pig. As a member of the male species I request that you find a nice corner of the world where there is nobody else but you........and stay there.

A persons gender does not have ANYTHING to do with their ability to lead a country.

You have to take the safety off before you pull the trigger.

I'm not a fan of Obama myself, but I don't see why you aussies all have your panties up in a bunch.

A stronger military alliance with a country much stronger than yours only benefits you, and it's no surprise China had to comment on the move. Perhaps you haven't considered that China may have it's eyes set on your country?

Doesn't worry you at all? Why else would China care unless it irks them that exploiting Australia will not be as easy as they had hoped.

Will the US exploit Australia then, you're wondering? Hardly. Unless you're offering cheap labor or basically giving away precious resources, you aren't going to draw much attention from foreign investors.

On the other hand, China is a notoriously cheap / unscrupulous trading partner. Look at how they have the US by the balls. Do you want that to happen to Aussies, too?

Turning on the TV, I saw Obama having a chin wag. "Oh" I thought to myself, he's decided to invade another country this time. Syria, Iran? No, within a few second I discovered he vowed America was here to STAY in Australia?? For strategic Asia-Pacific reasons... hmm... Last I checked we're still part of the Commonwealth. Anyway.

I'm all for being allies with the great US of A, but we are Australians, I say go back to your country leave us be. How would you feel us Aussies setting up shop in USA for strategic Canadian reasons (you know, throw 'nother shrimp on the barbie mate, she'll be right). Just kidding.

Surprisingly Juliar Gillard had the opposite idea appearing to be Obama's lackey.

I truly respect the American people, but what USA has become today is a joke, blame aimed at the USA government and corporations 'running' the joint. Now it's coming to Australia (Austramerica?). 2500 marines is quite a lot don't you say?

Is there a war that's going to be fought on Aussie soil I'm not aware of yet?

Cheers

Well it is about time the rest of the civilized world starts getting some credit (and the animosity) for keeping this world turning.

'ave at it...(as you guys say)

I'm American and a former Marine. The dictator has more nerve than a toothache. He's sooooo detached from the American people. This morning on NPR he said "it is the united states focus to have a military presence in the south pacific. Where does he come up with this B.S.???? England owns Australia. Why do we have to get involved?? We're broke and in so many ways. HEAR YE HEAR YE!!! I DENOUNCE AMERICA AND ALL THAT IT STANDS FOR!!! FOR IT HAS BECOME THE HUB AND COMMAND CENTER FOR THE NEW WORLD ORDER. US PEASANTS HAVE NO SAY. THE TIME FOR VIOLENCE IS NOW!! THERE GONNA GRAB EVERYTHING LEFT, WE HAVEN'T DONE ENOUGH!!

The british commonwealth has been controlling not only english speaking nations throughout the world, but also past european colonies. So what exactly is your point? USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Canada are under direct control of the NSA's project echelon. What do you think pine gap in australia is all about?

The only thing that suprises me somewhat is that people do not know what is going on in their own country. China should have been contained a long time ago and it has nothing to do with political systems. It had everything to do with protecting local economies so that people could have a selection of decent paying jobs. Tariffs was the way to accomplish that but nobody really cares. Maybe only left wingers.........

So what is the big deal now? You think obama is trying to sell you guys out? LMAO, talk about gross ignorance. If you morons really cared about globalisation you should have done something about it decades ago when you still had a chance. We might as well put up with it now since is only a matter of time for chinnese and indian standard of living(and wages) go up to the point were traditional powers can compete again. Maybe 10 years max now! The worst has gone so just be patient as things can only get better from now on.......

The depressing part is that chineese and indian companies have no market outside asia and that means that american and european firms are doing all the exploiting. I mean its bad enough american are losing jobs so that wall street makes higher profits and we buy things a little cheaper in the meantime, but why shouldn't other companies prosper as well? The WTO summits were too biased and that is why they failed!!

It is one way traffic. Wall Street traffic! OWS knows exactly what they are doing but the following is way below par. We could have used 100 times more people so that the message was clearer and more potent. Oh well!

Mate, China buys up the majority of our natural resources which is the very reason we were one of the few countries of the world to not feel many of the effects of the banking collapse and have a dollar that went from being well under yours to well over - making it nice and cheap for us to buy from you guys while we get filthy stinking rich from the Chinese buying our materials.

Until we run out of natural resources (not going to happen for a long while) we have nothing to worry about from China down here. No, despite the fearmongerers saying they'll just invade, we have WAY too many friends in between us and them for the Chinese to get anywhere near us - mainly because we don't pick fights everywhere we go.
