ATS is whatever you make of it, and in this case when ATS fails to be like so many online venues where OWS has 100% unconditional and overwhelming support, you don't like it.

You really should get out of the "collective" sometime and do some real estimates of those for or against, and those who just don't care.

We did that and we got kicked out of almost every single city OWS was taking place in. I for one actually will be kind of happy if the OWS protesters start fighting the Black hand of the Govt and the Police.

One thing I will always do though, no matter how much crap I cop from people about it, is ALWAYS support the rights of people to protest wherever and whenever they want.

i agree, although there have been many posts (in different threads) wishing nothing less than a good beating of protestors, or somehow undermining their right to protest just because other people disagree with them.

the next protest may be one more people agree with, and their belittling of other protests plays into the hands of those who would like to see every protest shut down regardless of the message. even if you disagree with the message or the occupy method, you'd think people would still be supportive of peoples right to protest and humane treatment.

but instead most of what i have seen is along the lines of "well i do not agree with them so they should not be allowed to protest and i hope the cops give a few good hits for good measure", laying down the foundations for the next protest which people may agree with next time but find themselves being beaten and being tarred with the same brush and stereotypes.

that already happened. tea party beat ya to it. there were stereotypes out that yin yang on that one too. the problem with this subject is, they have two entirely different focal points. the OWS movement wants to end capitalism. the tea party wanted to end the fed.

here's something odd. i recall the day the camera focused in on the guy in the stock market, the one that started the idea of a tea party..what was his name? i remember watching that and thinking... "it's all a set up. the whole thing is a cleverly contrived set up, to pit one side of the usa against the other on every conceivable line possible." i was right. shoulda followed my gut then. this is why i am not enamored with OWS because it wreaks of manufactured hegelian dialectic like mr. tea party did.

First off, you don't have a clue what I "believe" and what I don't believe. If you knew anything about me at all, you would know that his behavior and thoughts are NOTHING of who I am or what I believe. I think the whole OWS movement is a complete joke and waste of time because all a mob mentality does is attract and promote monsters like him. There are more and more people getting involved with the movement, that don't have a clue what the movement is REALLY about, or what is going on in the world, or just don't have anything better to do. It attracts some very bad people, that are going to do some very bad things, and that is what will be highlighted. Every news article you read is about rape, murder, drugs, lice, disease, violence, hate, etc... because of what a mob mentality attracts. In the end, it is only going to hurt the cause and give more power to the PtB, rather than benefit the cause. Why do people feel the need to flip cars upside and set them on fire when their favorite team wins a championship? Because mobs attract people that will overshadow the rest of the 99%.

Second, my whole point was about being pegged as a "terrorist," and how you have no liberties, no protection, no rights, nothing at all. What this guy said was wrong, but should he go to prison for the rest of his life for it? Of course the obvious answer is no, but they can do exactly that and NOTHING can be done about it!!! Thank you patriot act! It is a veil they can hide behind and use indiscriminately against anyone they want. You want to post something on a forum saying you hate America, they can now grab you as a terrorist and there is nothing you can do about it....no judge, no jury, thank you, have a nice day! It's a blanket policy that they can use to take away all of your rights. What happens when they throw that blanket over you when in fact you did nothing wrong at all?? If you think they can't, won't, or don't frame people at will with this blanket, you my friend are the one who is sad.

Worse, it's a one way policy. It's OK for the PtB with the NWO agenda to plan their own attacks and not be considered a terrorist? What about all the people that have been silenced through fear or death by law enforcement and nothing in the world is done about it. Aren't the same people using "terrorist" laws in fact terrorists?!?! If you are ignorant enough to think it doesn't happen, then I am sorry you just won't get it, cause it does all the time, and I have had it used against me once...I was terrorized to say the least! In order to understand these points, you have to go way back to the 80's where when you went to a shop like walmart, or other CORPERATE stores most things, ahem... WERE made in America...

This is a bunch of trash which conveniently ignores certain issues while highlighting others. People are using these protests as an outlet to voice various different grievances which are affecting their lives.

It's one thing to have capitalism and powerful corporations, it's quite another thing to have these corporations controlling the government and being granted a "person" status. Most people will agree that this is just stomach turning nonsense that has nothing to do with proper capitalism. Let's call a spade a spade, it's a sinister power grab by evil people.

These protests are partly in the right spot, but should also include Washington and perhaps the media. Goldman Sachs is taking over Europe and shaping US policy against its people, yet a blind eye is turned toward these evils. Why? Because focusing on the damn dirty hippies is somehow more important?

Let's all fight each other over petty politics while bankers, government, and media plot to destroy our children's lives. That's a great plan! Keep up the good work guys!
