I've been accused of Sexual Harassment, even after I rebuked many advances from her, and took precautions to never be alone with her, and removed some impediments from my office so I would always be visible to co-workers, and I made a call to our Ethics Link and my supervisors to see if I should file a pre-emptive complaint, which they advised me NOT to do. Then, when the inevitable day came that I had to fire her, guess what, she filed a complaint.
They barely even investigated, and I was cleared, and she even took the time to retract her complaint after she realized how much work I had done to try and keep her from being fired, but it doesn't matter. If I am ever to run for office, it will surely come up.
I currently have a voicemail saved on my phone, and many emails and text messages saved on my computer from women who work for me doing things highly inappropriately. If I were to do even 10% of the things they get away with, I would be tarred and feathered and sued into oblivion, and crucified in the press. It is a MAJOR double-standard!! MAJOR!!
But, I still think its a good thing if Cain gets out of Ron Paul's way. He is just a distraction from the Paul campaign and a way to keep the spotlight off Romney and Perry so they don't screw anything up between now and the faux election time. If Cain gets out of the way, there is a much better chance of Perry/Romney exposing their weaknesses and Paul getting a legitimate shot at the nomination.

Bialek detailed Cain's sexual overture, explaining that he spent money on a palatial hotel suite for her at the time of their meeting. When they saw each other in the evening, Bialek said he his hand on her leg, "reached for [her] genitals" and pushed her head toward his crotch.
When Bialek objected, Cain asked her: "You want a job, right?"

I strongly disagree with the OP that coming forward with such accusations is an easy matter. You immediately set yourself up for every bit a scrutiny, every attempt for one to have dirt dug up on one and the possibility that some could be manufactured. Who among us doesn't have something that they'd rather not reported every ten minuted on Fox or the like.

Damage is already done...he is dropping in the polls.
And I honestly don't think it is the fact that he was accused of sexual harassement...it is how he handled it.
First he acted like he had no idea whay these allegations were...then he knew a little...then he knew a little more...then he said he is just being attacked...then he decided not to talk about it.
Very poor handling...and that is why he is dropping IMO.

anyone that has spent anytime at all at a poker table knows this guy is a liar; but that's no reason not to support him for the GOP standard bearer.edit on 7-11-2011 by whaaa because: (no reason given)

So let me understand this. An accusation means he's guilty?
This woman seems to have no reason to lie.
I see no reason to be happy. I do not see a winner here.

As a taxi driver in Atlanta in the 90s, I picked up Herman Cain who was present with a she-male and a hermaphrodite. I took them to their destination, an airport Holiday Inn, where I was asked if I wanted to "join the party". I declined, though it was strongly recommended to me that I never discuss the event. Oops.

So you are saying...You can tell the man is lying by his "Poker Face?".
That is quite a claim.
Or are you saying he's guilty by association to the GOP?
You are smearing a man you have no idea if he is guilty.
Kangaroo Court is now in session.
