Having a preconceived notion that the government is systematically lying to you about aliens is absurd

Why , Governments of whatever persuasion lie to the electorate regularly , wars , the economy , expense accounts , so why wouldn't they lie about Aliens ?

As the old joke goes ..... How can you tell if a politician is lying to you ......... their lips move

Many a truth is spoken in jest .

So if people know that the government are lying and will continue to lie..

WTF is the point of the petition?
WTF is the point in asking for disclosure? If at the end a good portion of you will think it's a false flag or they lying.

It's a waste of time.

And No I do not believe the government lies about everything. I personally think there are some honest people in the government. Who have good intentions.

Indeed they do. You asked "why", though I listed the reason in my response. Having that belief assures that you'll never recognize a truthful statement even if you got one. You are prepared only to accept one answer (the one you want), though at some point you'll likely suspect that's a lie also because your premise requires it.

Asking someone you think is lying for a truthful answer is absurdity.

WTF is the point of the petition?

The e-petition idea is a public relations exercise , to show voters that their Government is listening and wants to hear their opinion , which of course they don't .

post by StarPeace
WTF is the point in asking for disclosure?

There is no point as it won't happen , unless the day comes when TPTB are forced to by circumstances beyond their control.

It's a waste of time.

Correct

First off, thats not true. You dont know me or what I believe or dont believe. Dont assume on my behalf.
Second, If there is life here there is life eleswhere. You totally rule out life anywhere but this little blue rock and that my friend is the epitome of absurd.

TWA Flight 117, April 27, 1950

xpoq47 - And I might add, that this is a very enlightening post, for I have never heard of this UFO incident before.

A typical Foofighter no doubt.

Logical One - A question: Have you read or heard about this TWA Flight 117; UFO incident, and your opinion or thoughts about what the UFO could have been?

Thanks,

I made no statements as to what I thought your personal belief is or was. I simply explained my statements when asked.

Second, If there is life here there is life eleswhere.

There is no proof of any such thing as of now and your conclusion does not follow from your premise.

You totally rule out life anywhere but this little blue rock and that my friend is the epitome of absurd.

I have not in any way ruled out life elsewhere: that's your assumption about my beliefs.

But now you've revealed your own beliefs and they are due their proper criticism. You could very well be right about your statements here, but your reasoning is mired in fallacy and supported only by incredulity. Ouch.

just look at the governments replies to just about every passed petition. in my opinion, this "we the people" sight, is basicly just a ruse(not sure if thats the right term), to make us think "oh maybe the government DOES care about the people"

I have. It's pretty much my belief. As for "letting pets running the planet" as Karen so colorfully put it, it's possible that the "aliens" ARE already running things.

Don't forget France, Spain, Germany, Great Britain, Russia, Japan, and Israel.

The government must think we're incredibly stupid, to give such a response. Sounds as if some staff members 5th grade son wrote this. Zero insight or acknowledgement whatsoever.

They don't see it as a political risk, because they can just say it was soviet or Japanese craft and hallucinations. It doesn't harm their reputation and if something does pop up, they can just say that didn't know.

You need an alien to tell you that they did. But you see our government is actually thriving off our distrust.

The sad thing is many are just as stupid as the government thinks. Reality is getting to be extremely depressing. Government is just toying with us.

Well it kind of is, rather it is depending on our lack of trust to keep it self in power. If we want to get rid of this institution in its current behavior, we need to replace it with a new institution. Elect the Draneian party, the very first political party sponsored by extraterrestrials and actively cooperates with extraterrestrials for the benefit of human beings under the principles of mutual coexistence. We'll spill the beans where the Democrats and Republicans have failed and we fear no one, not the CIA, FBI, MIB, NWO, you name it we'll beat them up to an inch of their lives and piss on them like the turds they truly are and we mean that.

Those countries have said nothing of the sort and here's the issue. The countries that have released files have done exactly that - with files covering reported viewings of unidentified flying objects. None of those governments have (to my knowledge) stated they have evidence of ET life.

You can argue otherwise and use violent talk, but facts won't appear by magic - especially if the facts you want to believe in may just not actually exist.

Not that I'm doubting you for a second but... actually I am. The government of America has said there is no evidence of ET life. You disbelieve them. You say you have witenessed this evidence yourself - care to share or can you say you have witnessed a phenomena you cannot explain but as far as you are aware that is evidence enough?

So you would rather government said people have seen things they cannot explain therefore ET life must exist - you think that is a credible statement?

Typical response we all have come to expect from our Government. But it was futile, a petition wouldnt break the wall of secrecy. I believe i huge march to the White House would be a better way of getting the truth.

Well i think that anyone who wants believe this story from the government that they isnt any signs of ET life visitng us are just as stupid as the government itself.everyday of every year for the past 70 years there has been thousand and thousand of sightings that been filmed or had picture taking of them.Do you really think that the people who replied to this petition really know whats going?I dont think so,but what i do know is that the longer they the government keep it hidden away from us the more they look stupid.HAVE FULL DISCLOSURE NOW!

I think what they really mean is we choose to lie and tell the public we know nothing, when really we know more than most humans could ever get there head around. Its safe to say we wont be seeing any ufo disclosure anytime soon..

Well.. correct me if I`m wrong.

This is what I`ve read:
Truman created the CIA so that he and future presidents could answer to "special" questions in truthful manner. Questions regarding things the president wouldn`t want to know were therefore handled by the CIA. CIA was in that manner not under the president but on the side of the president. A government outside the government, because that was what they did, they governed everything that the president couldn`t dirty his hands with - in case the public would ask him. Because he is a public figure after all, the culmination of everyone that leads this country together with him. He speaks for them and to them.

So with analyzing purposes of the written statment, how far does the definition of "the government" really stretch?

Very oddly worded...

Starting off by thanking who ever emailed them?
Thats no accident infact its a costumer service technique used when you know your about to piss the costumer off..
But mostly just the word choice.

Just a strange strange thing to be coming from the white house.

I feel offended:

Not because of the response of the White House which is more than expected, but that this news was aired on our national news... just today (Europe here)

So I learnt about this petition and its response here from ATS. And instead of this staying within the US, these news was spread all over the world it seems. Disinformation is successful

Seriously? What were they thinking 'The Obama Administration' would say? 'Oh yes we have some aliens right beneath the white house but we didn't tell you for 50-60 years, U MAD?'

Now the masses who don't do research will all say 'I watched it on TV they said no aliens have been here because the OBAMA ADM said so!'

Really... this is what I find disturbing, people have now all watched it as some official statement and will believe it... Cool, so UFOs are all military, OK cool, all is normal, let's get back to work [/sarcasm]

And the petition had mistake, better ask what are these UFOs not do we have aliens... not that they wouldnt think of something to say it is balloons or lanterns and will disregard any real aircraft cases..

I always cringe a bit when they don't qualify their statements. Cheney was pretty good in that respect. The question put to him was "Since the statement made by George Bush last July, there has been a vicious rumor circulating in the UFO community that you have been read into the UFO program. So my question to you is, 'In any of your government jobs have you ever been briefed on the subject of UFOs, and if you have, when was it, and what were you told?'" Cheney responded, "Well, if I had been briefed on it, I'm sure it was probably classified and I couldn't talk about it."

Gorbachev was direct, saying, "The phenomenon of UFOs does exist, and it must be treated seriously," at least according to the English translation, implying that he was in the loop. Still, there could have been a failure of the translator to pick up some nuance.

I saw a video on yahoo about it...I was like...WTF...

Anyway, the individual that made that statement is probably COMPLETELY out of the loop on the ET matter and the answer thus did not come from the right source to BEGIN with.

What evidence did he review? how did he/she come to this conclusion?

What evidence is there? Note the e word there - supposition, assumptions, witness testimony that could mean anything, pictures which show perhaps a UFO (at least to the witness) are NOT evidence of extraterristrial life. So what evidence are you referring to? Here's a clue, ancient aliens doesn't cut it.

If you have EVIDENCE that proves ET life - anyone - then why not bring that into the open? Easiest way to kill the argument.

Well, one piece of evidence we know the government did possses and might not yet have destroyed is the footage from Project Twinkle. That would nail down not the existence of extraterrestials per se but just that UFOs do exist and allow pretty accurate calculations of the sizes and flight characteristics of the objects captured by two cinetheodolites at a time, providing azimuth, elevation, and timing data displayed on each frame of the motion-picture film in stereophotography.

Project Twinkle

As to existence of the Roswell debris, all the smoking-gun evidence we have is perhaps the photo of the Ramey memo.
