T'is funny. OWS won't define themselves, their defenders, while lambasting detractors, refuse to define the OWS movement.

What are they hiding? (rhetorical)

What is their motivation?

Their tactics are plain to see, hence my thread, but their goals?

Are their true intents so horrific to the american populace that they have to keep it hidden?

I'd like to see someone actually answer these questions.
Oh, and I'd like someone to explain the Zapatista thing, too.

I actually thought I asked GOOD questions !

Wouldn't a movement want more then anything to get their message across ?

And yes,it is peculiar the MANY different messages that have been spread, but NO real message on HOW its going to work, and what benefits will protesting produce for the world.

Isnt America the 99%,not just the protesters?

Step one: Invent an argument of your own making, not represented in anyone's actual position
Step two: Argue against that imaginary argument
Step three: Proclaim victory over the people you claim held the argument that you just made up.

Really? Who did you ask?
Part of what makes a question good or bad is the relevance of the one being questioned. I am not occupying anything. You have asked ME to define THEM for YOU and then used my refusal to define THEM for YOU in MY own terms as evidence that they do not have a message now? Interesting little thought experiment this thread is.

They were good questions. It's the answers that they are afraid of. Because once their intent is known, they'll have to live by their own definition.

That takes responsibility and maturity.

I'm slightly disturbed by that as well. Going to have to spend more time on those links in order to get a feel for it.

Why be in a Social Issues and Civil Unrest forum,in a thread Titled "OWS and the Baby Kitten Defense",if you didnt want to talk about it,or OWS ? I understand to you the OP is "nonsense",but there are others in this thread actually asking questions to those who support or dont support OWS,and are actually trying to keep on some sort of topic, instead of lambasting the OP over and over again. If you dont want to answer the question,so be it. I posted the question to you,but with the wondrous power of "opinion",anyone can take a stab and answer it. You say you occupy NOTHING,so even if I ask you ANY question about OWS,I will never get a straight answer from you, just the casual read that OP is nonsense..So.....what happens after you make your point/opinion?Interesting little thought experiment some posters play........

Not getting it gets you no where.

The goal is to end the conflict of interest between government and big business.
It is not to get rid of the 1%. It is to get rid of some of their power and their influence in our government.
To level the playing field. They can have their riches, they just shouldn't be able to use it with lobbyists to control us and our government.

Does that make sense to you?

They have defined themselves. Right leaning media just ignores it so people like you that follow right leaning media wont understand it. That way they keep you ignorant, hating OWS, and less likely to join the cause.

See my above post if you really want to understand what the protests are about.
If you could take off the blinders and wring fox news out of your brain you would see that it is good and that my summary is the truth and you would support it.

Huh?
What the?
How's that now?
Say again?
When did I say I did not want to talk about OWS? Your posts seem to attempt a narrative not naturally yielding itself to you. Let's all take a nice deep breath and relax. Get all the ugly thoughts out. Clear your head. Make sense.

I understand to you the OP is "nonsense",but there are others in this thread actually asking questions to those who support or dont support OWS,and are actually trying to keep on some sort of topic, instead of lambasting the OP over and over again.

That is one heck of a run-on sentence issue you got going on there. FOCUS! I am on topic. Just not on YOUR topic. You are demanding I go off topic and do a dance for you over and over again. I am doing little more than wondering when the OP is going to provide anything other than his own blather in place of the other half of his argument.

If you dont want to answer the question,so be it.

Why the hell would you want me to answer it? Is this the third or fourth time that I have asked you why you are trying to get me to put words in other people's mouths just like the OP here already did?

I posted the question to you,but with the wondrous power of "opinion",anyone can take a stab and answer it.

So you are not actually looking for the answer. You are just looking for anyone to respond to your question, no matter how legitimate their answer may be? Well I can do that. I can pretend to be able to speak on the behalf of others but around these parts that is known as "lying" and the OP already took those chips with his made up argument. Now what is it exactly that you thought you were going to be clever enough to trick out of me on behalf of someone else? Please do go on.

You say you occupy NOTHING,so even if I ask you ANY question about OWS,I will never get a straight answer from you, just the casual read that OP is nonsense..So.....what happens after you make your point/opinion?Interesting little thought experiment some posters play........

I have to be one of the protesters in order to point out nonsense?

Obvious nonsense is obvious.

Well.. us that get it need to go down and turn the hearts and minds of the masses of protestors.
I'm afraid a lot of them are a little confused (how could they not be with all the parasites attaching themselves to the movement and the MSM manipulating the truth) about what needs to be done.

I have been going to the protest and supplying signs that clear the air and let people know that the focus needs to be placed equally on the 1% that are buying votes in congress AND congress that are allowing themselves to be bought.

We need to get people running on anti lobbyist platforms, enact laws to protect our government from being influenced by big business. With the internet candidates don't need (or at least eventually wont need) the millions of dollars coming from corporations to help get their name out and get elected. That is why the internet will end up being the greatest tool in the history of democracy. It will help crush corruption (if corruption doesn't crush freedom of speech and the internet first). Then if protesting and demanding corrections be made doesn't work we will have to come up with a plan and up the efforts.

Actually it does. YOU make sense. Why isn't this clear, concise message being repeated then? Why is it that only socially liberal and extremist groups advocating this approach?

I watch as much MSNBC as Fox.
I do support this aspect, but again, I use the Baby Kitten Defense as a riposte to illustrate that it is not JUST about what you mentioned in the above post.

When they occupied DC, why did they go to the Chamber of Commerce instead of the Capital building or the White House?

Honest question. . . .

It is being repeated. Loudly. Often. And I know damn well that sources other than GogoVic have explained it to you. I know I've done so at least five times for you personally, and dozens in places where i know you've seen it. This stuff isn't occluded in any way. Rather it seems you have chosen to selectively ignore it.

So a better question is why you choose to be ignorant even when presented with information?

Why is it that only socially liberal and extremist groups advocating this approach?

"Extremist groups?"

Actually that's a very good question. Why are only liberal groups concerned about the rise of corporate power over our government? Well, the truth of the matter is, today's "conservatives" have been indoctrinated with the notion that government is always inherently evil, and that business is always inherently good. So what most people see as corruption - corporate control of the system of our government - looks, to a great many conservative minds, as "needed reform."

because the chamber of commerce is the source of the problem. Have you ever heard the phrase "follow the money," Beezzer? What, do you think it really says "Follow the money and stop when it reaches a politician of the party I really dislike and pretend it goes no further"?

Again, I've explained this to you multiple times. Go after the source of the corruption, not the symptom.
