OWS has made it abundantly clear they oppose the NWO or the close ties that exist now between banks and government.

OP's claim they WANT to instill an NWO is wingnut fantasy and part of the Fox/wingnut spin. Thread fails on that claim alone.

Enjoy.

Wanting to curtail (with cute little kittens) corruption in the government and upper echelons of
big business is hardly the B.S you and the FOX news crowd publish.

Action = Curtail corrupted Beezer, fox news crowd, upper echelons of business, government
(SOCIAL CLEANSING OF ALL KITTEN HATERS)

Replace it with something less corrupt and not designed to pump out a couple trillionaires,
how about that?

Solution = (heres a hint) there talking about replacing capitalism folks
with *something less corrupt* maybe LIKE
CUTE LITTLE KITTENS!!>>>???

Maybe.
Serious question now...
Why is NO ONE on the white house lawn? I know why OWS isn't... but why is no one else?
Are you sure that change is necessary? Is the level of suffering high enough?

Well, I've always been a problem-child.

The only place OWS protested in DC was the Chamber of Commerce.

Capitalism has always been the target.

Good questions.
I do not think the level of suffering is high at all in relation to what is going on in other less fortunate countries. Suffering, in the US, means I can't afford the latest cell phone, that dudes car is nicer than mine, why do I have to pay back my college loan? Suffering? Nah.
When the level of "discomfort" becomes actual suffering, than I think you will see us on the white house lawn.
When things become so bad that people are really suffering, than you will see it.
Is change really necessary? Yes. Can anyone actaully say that the system is not broken?

From one of the links in your linked thread.

Undemocratic international institutions are our global Mubarak, our global Assad, our global Gaddafi. These include: the IMF, the WTO, global markets, multinational banks, the G8/G20, the European Central Bank and the UN security council. Like Mubarak and Assad, these institutions must not be allowed to run people’s lives without their consent. We are all born equal, rich or poor, woman or man. Every African and Asian is equal to every European and American. Our global institutions must reflect this, or be overturned.

Today, more than ever before, global forces shape people’s lives. Our jobs, health, housing, education and pensions are controlled by global banks, markets, tax-havens, corporations and financial crises. Our environment is being destroyed by pollution in other continents. Our safety is determined by international wars and international trade in arms, drugs and natural resources. We are losing control over our lives. This must stop. This will stop. The citizens of the world must get control over the decisions that influence them in all levels – from global to local. That is global democracy. That is what we demand today.

Today, like the Mexican Zapatistas, we say “¡Ya basta! Aquí el pueblo manda y el gobierno obedece“: Enough! Here the people command and global institutions obey! Like the Spanish Tomalaplaza we say “Democracia Real Ya”: True global democracy now!” Today we call the citizens of the world: let us globalise Tahrir Square! Let us globalise Puerta del Sol!

To me that speaks against the thumb we are all under, not a call for a new one. If you can't see by now that banks and corporations have bought control of the world, through interest, through deregulation, through food and water...funding dictatorships and then declaring war on said dictatorships, through oil and rapage of natural resources...if you can't see that is the so called NWO then...

Occupy speaks against this corruption and control. Sure, some are still a bit mixed and haven't moved beyond their anger yet, they will. We do not hate capitalism, we do not hate the rich. We hate the corruption that has resulted in money buying legislation that only benefits those who are able to make large donations and hurts the rest of us.

You're not going to end corruption by camping out in parks.

You do that by getting honest people into office.

But OWS does not want to do that.

Get rid of corrupt CEO's?

Who are they going to be replaced with? Won't they follow the same laws as before?

A never ending problem with no real solution.

Some of these threads just seem kinda stupid to me - I don't think people mean to be stupid, it's just starting to feel like - to me - that OWS must be - for some people - a paperdoll that you can put any face on that you want.
You scared of communism? That's what OWS is about.
Afraid of the NWO? Surely that's what OWS is trying to do.
Afraid George Soros is wanting to rule the world? He's behind OWS!
HATE to see Obama re-elected - OWS is just one big re-election ploy.

How sad to see this tactic used by such a long standing and oh so vocal member. So it has gotten so hard to bash OWS for you that you have resorted to just making things up? Is this supposed to be in the "Straw Man" forum or the "Complete Bull#" forum?

Have you left reality altogether? Is your blind hatred really that strong?

When they say, "We want a global/socialist one-world economy along with a totalitarian regime and we want to rescue baby kittens."

Annnnnnd when did they say that?
Your entire OP is based on an argument you had by yourself in your own head and you seem rather proud of it. The worst part is that you did not even win, just made a case. You presented a case to yourself on your own made up argument and still could not convince even you that what you were saying was right. Thus you needed to share it and beg other people to validate it for you by presenting it as if it were some profound reality. It is nothing but made up crap.

But you go on and do it more and make it even worse, don't you?

OWS? What are your goals? Get rid of the 1%? Replace them with what? Get rid of the free market system? Replace it with what? Get rid of the financial system? Replace it with what?

I eagarly await your replies.

Really?
You ask what their goals are and then MAKE UP WHAT THOSE GOALS ARE and then demand other people answer for what you just made up about them.

Do you even see how pathetic this is? When someone is genuinely evil and doing wrong, it is really easy to point that out and criticize them for it. When someone is just being demonized then you have to MAKE UP CRAP. Look what you went and did.

Shame.

Even worse is that I used to at least respect the individualism around here but this OWS thing has killed all of that. You and two other posters have been repeating Michael Savage and Sean Hannity BS for weeks now.

It is not sad that you had to write yet another thread to make an empty attempt at vilifying something with no facts or logic. It is sad that you had to try so hard to make up your own argument to have in order to do it.

"Replace the 1%?" Where do you even get this crap? You honestly believe people are saying they are fine with the corruption, greed, and fraud, just the people getting away with it are the problem and there should be other people in there getting away with it?

Show me the sign that says "I want Ted to make millions off of bundling fraudulent mortgage paperwork, not Bill. # Bill!"

Maybe, maybe not. I do think that one thing that has and could continue to happen is that by camping out, the interest of more people is gained, ie "What's this all about?"...so people go and find out, either by going there or by reading up on it or even just watching youtube videos. Point being, awareness has been raised and dialogue initiated. Americans banding together and identifying sources of corruption and talking about solutions is a pretty good thing IMO.

You do that by getting honest people into office.
But OWS does not want to do that.

Are you sure you're correct in that assumption? Because from my perspective the exact opposite is true. Honest representatives of the people is a major goal of Occupy and it goes beyond party and idealogy. Show me an honest conservative who votes as his/her constituents want and not how their major contributors tell them to and they will have my respect, that goes for any politician from anywhere.

Well I think there was talk about a baby kitten operation where they went out and talked to people in the community about their plight and got support.

I don't know what baby kittens have to do with anything.

I don't have problems when people make stupid arguments like that WITH ME - why should anyone else?
It's easy - it's just logic, just because I don't like A doesn't mean I don't like B. Do you think everyone is illogical?

I just want to SCREAM - IT's the ((((((((&9&^##!)))))) FEAR

I am SO SICK of the fear. EVERYONE is so afraid. If we aren't afraid of one thing, we're afraid of another. Fear is talking and talking and talking and I just don't want to LISTEN to it anymore. I want to hear REASON and DISCUSSION.

If nothing else, OWS is waking a lot of people up. They don't HAVE any stated demands right now. If they did, and I was against them, I'd be railing about why. They don't, so I have no reason to fret over them, but I do worry about them - freezing, police brutality, living like that making them vulnerable in a lot of ways.

So right now I just want to protect them - if I could. I'd make a big ol pot of Chicken Soup for the WORLD (Vegetarian, I guess, for part of it.) Fear has been bred in this world for 10 years now, and it's taken over.

We've got an epidemic of fear on one hand, and obedience at any cost on the other.

OWS is making ME think - not that I didn't - but it's like a zoom lens turned on a problem.
Nothing wrong with that because it's a very, very BIG problem - so many of us have just had it in mind that it was SO far away. Our lives were ok, it's in the distance.

Well, wake up. Unemployment - officially - is 14% where I live. You can't SNEEZE without an expensive license, permit, or fee - and that's keeping a lot of people from doing work they WOULD do...crazy laws are popping up left and right to CONTROL people - mainly the poor.

I'm doing my best NOT to be scared anymore. To talk to people. To respect people. To say, I know, it's hard for me too, let's try to figure out why and fix it.
