Ows is Atlas shrugged if they get their way keynesian ecconomics tax and spend and grow a government with their foot on those cute baby kittens ready to snap its poor little head but it is a global agenda.

Watched Atlas shrugged last nite and the parallels to OWS and what they want and where it will eventually end up.

Those people and their defenders have no clue.

Tactic? Moi?

How is calling out a tactic used by the OWS crowd a tactic from me?

I'm exposing a truth. Like it, hate it, do what you want with it.

But to accuse me of a dishonesty by calling out dishonesty is not a tactic.

Many replies about my mistakes about the OWS "message".
Some sy there isn't one. Others say it's about ending corruption.

Well, if it were about ending corruption, why aren't they "occupying" congress? The White House?

And if it's because they don't have a central message; then why not?
It's been over a month. How long do we have to wait for their "message"?

Now I get it. You are playing a character. You are satire. You are supposed to be funny. You are an exaggeration of the typical right wing talk radio BS that I hear all the time. I used to take you seriously, sorry.

You have not called anything out or exposed any truth. All you did was make something up and then pat yourself on the back for noticing the thing you made up.

What did I make up?
OWS message?
Their goals?
Their tactics?

They've been doing this for weeks, and you sit and tell me there is no message? That I made it up?
Please, do tell. What is their message?

I'm confident that will happen, sorry that it isn't on the timeline you think it should be. It takes time to rally people.

Thanks for ignoring my other reply though.

Are you sure you're correct in that assumption? Because from my perspective the exact opposite is true. Honest representatives of the people is a major goal of Occupy and it goes beyond party and idealogy. Show me an honest conservative who votes as his/her constituents want and not how their major contributors tell them to and they will have my respect, that goes for any politician from anywhere.

I've been following this from the start.

Thi is the first time I have heard of this.

Source?

Oh they will go after the whitehouse just waiting for Obama to leave office.

Ahhhh, right! It'll be the politicians fault then.

There lies the difference between the tea party and OWS.

The tea party protesters were about getting rid of the corrupt politicians, removing them from office by voting them out, whoever they were! R or D by the name so the capitalist system can work properly. Removing toxins from the system (changing the people who harmed the system)

The OWS protesters are about overthrowing the capitalist system(directly or indirectly), by making it harder for businesses to invest, grow, build, taxing the wealthy who spend the most, caps on wages, and spreading the wealth by socialized healthcare, education, amnesty, and more entitlement programs then you can shake a stick at. So the system will collapse completely.

You CANT point out anything to some people. They will sit and twist it into a personal lambasting EVERY TIME. When you ask for a legitimate answer, they turn it around with another useless question. Some people like deflecting, and skirting the issues. It means they have NO real answers to the problems, but they definitely dont like yours, and arnt afraid to ridicule you for them.

OWS has a message,it is anger with no Lasting Goal. After they "Eat the Rich",then who do they eat? Themselves?

Interesting answer.
I talked about the possibility of a "revolution" or reforms here in Germany and Central Europe with a friend yesterday and our conclusion was the same as yours about the US: QoL is too high...

Its irrelevant how much we dislike the EU interfering in our national affairs, what we think about economic realities in other EU countries (or even overseas), corporate-lobbyist influence on politics, the ECB etc...
Most people here just don't care enough... and they probably wont care until its too late.

So, no revolution here in Germany... yet.

ETA:
plus, we already have some of the stuff OWS wants, like universal health care, solid educational system and good working conditions/wages.

Very succinct.
I wish I could add to that.

Really.

My husband and I recently had this discussion, also.
I don't know if there is such a thing as too late but I do think that things are going to have to get VERY nasty before anything serious is actually done about it. Being in my middle age, I dont think I will live to see it but my family has tried to be prepared just on the off chance that something cataclysmic happens with the monetary system in the mean time. I seriously believe that a very ugly revolution will come eventually if the status quo remains.

This is referred to as a Red Herring argument. Most people use this without realizing it because they don't separate their platforms.

The best response to this opposition is to ignore it completely and focus on the primary point of debate.

Thank you for your reply and the information. Although cute baby kitten does sound nicer than red herring.

I created this thread in an attempt to aid in refocusing.

What exactly have you been following if you don't see political conversation, because it's everwhere Occupy. Most of the talking happens in chat rooms and forums (tons of forums) and at Occupation sites most of which have daily seminars (not the GA's) that cover everything from knowing your rights and what to do if you're arrested..to politics, mainly about the false left right paradigm and how/why "they" are all guilty of being bought off. But here's some links.

From facebook:
Occupy Congress
Occupy Voting Booths

Also a bunch of information on twitter, which I can't seem to log onto at the moment.

So, by comparing themselves to the Zapatistas, they are admitting to a far-left ideology,
aren't they?
