New ATS Survey: UFOs and Extraterrestrials

Finally a survey I can participate in.
I believe the specific cases questions should have a "I don't know about this case" option. Linking to them is a good idea, but that option should be provided for people who didn't do deep research about them by themselves.

I'd like to criticize the survey for many reasons.

I believe that our solar system and the Earth has been, and currently is being studied or otherwise visited by one or more extraterrestrial species.

Number one issue: The options are limited and I was forced to choose "Neutral" due to the fact that I don't think we are at the moment visited.

Secondarily I find it annoying that you bothered to put a list of UFO sightings and included even Roswell case, yet ignored such important sightings and Abductions such as Betty- Hill abduction case,The Bob White Artifact or Colares UFO-incident.

Thirdly in none of the questioned sightings were there neutral option between like for example "Unsure"
"Not enough data" etc. Due to that fact I was forced to choose "Maybe Terrestial".



And last thing... All your cases, which you choose to ask about occurred in United States, but there are many other great cases in the BIG and SCARY World. Not to mention that ATS is international site and people from all over the world visit it... I would love if you could add more well-known cases into the list.

I agree completely. A "not enough data" was critical for many of the questions. I too had to select "Maybe Terrestrial" and "Maybe Extraterrestrial" many times. A "I don't know" option and a "not enough data for me to make an opinion" option would have been great for the case-specific questions.

I have been researching the UFO phenomenon for many years. After reading and hearing from military pilots, military radar operators, all types of military personnel from Generals to security people, from civilian pilots, civilian radar operators and astronauts to local police, I believe we have been and are currently being visited by extraterrestrial intelligent beings. To dismiss the reports and statements of the above mentioned individuals as all liars, hoaxers, or individuals unable to distinguish fantasy from reality, is in my opinion a condemnation of the human race. If we can't trust these people to be telling us the truth, who can we trust?

is it normal i'm able to do the survey multiple times? the last poll i did it stopped multiple entries .

it does have a little wiff of glp about it,

I just took the survey and I was surprised that none of the questions had an answer option of "I don't know."

That is a normal response option to this type of survey, yet ya'lls did not contain that option.

I, personally, do not know. I guess the questions where I went one click one way or the other will show up on your results though.



I have sen UFOS 3 times, and that is just it, the definition of UFO. They were unidentified, so I don't know what they were, but that does not mean they were extraterrestrial or a gov't project or what.

I think this would work better if we could leave choices blank. I havent done enough research on a few of those specific cases to give my opinion.

My thoughts exactly. But Hey, no poll is going to be perfect for everyone and they said at the outset that they only included a few case studies.
For those that felt other cases should have been mentioned, we'd be here all week if everyone got the cases they wanted posted...

Yup, it has certainly been fun watching the debates on what answers the poll did or did not provide. It's pretty simple really. If you feel that the phenomena is inter-dimensional it is possible that the phenomena is terrestrial. My reasoning here is that all dimensions make up the environment we live in, whether or not we perceive them all of the time. I believe someone already mentioned it in the responses. So the best answer to that particular question available would be terrestrial which also covers man made and military testing.
If however, you believe in sentient life from other universes, this one or distant galaxies far far away then your answer would be extra terrestrial. We are so good at labeling things, behaviour and people, I personally can't see what the problem is opting to lump a few opinions in a category that doesn't quite fit but will do in a pinch. I will be interested to see what the outcome is that's for sure.

i agree that this is a poor questionnaire by design. but i answered it to help the survey.

Wow, how is it complaining to point out there is a great segment of the UFO community who views these entities as not extraterrestrial but also do not deny they exist? Considering two of the most well-respected UFO researches in the field also feel this way?

Ok we know 2 people with great credentials believe this but it doesnt make the theory any less flawed.

I would have loved to seen the question, "Has your opinion about the validity of UFOs changed since you have became a member of ATS". In 1972, I observed, as related in my introduction page, what I believe to be a fleet of UFOs. I came to ATS fully believing in UFOs and extraterrestrials. After approximately a year of reading and seeing hoaxes, child bickering, explanations of swamp gas, car lights,CGI, lying, and numerous other explanations I have become more skeptical then I ever thought I could be.
