There's certainly no shame in admitting that the evidence you've been presented with has failed to convince you either way.

If saying 'I don't know' convinces someone somewhere to raise their standards when it comes to presenting their case it can only be for the good.

It's an honest response, too, if one hasn't had the time to read all the available evidence. I wouldn't want to express an opinion based on a hazy understanding of the incident(s) in question.

Taking a poll like this from a conspiracy site is hardly indicative of the population as a whole. And this goes without saying, it is going to be titled towards the least likely and the absurd. Unless the thread titles alone in the alien/ufo section are misleading, i'm, going to go out on a limb and say this poll is useless and will only serve to prop up the legions of ignorant folks who don't bother to understand basic science, logic, reason and common sense think they are the "norm". Thus, those "open minds" emboldened by this poll will see to it that the forum is inundated with a fresh wave of emboldened ignorance that will further suppress the positive forward motion of the subject as a whole.....

Side note, a poll like this I think can shed some light on how the internet has not really made people any smarter.....lol.

I understand your perspective, and your signature does much in furthering your opinion. But there is such a thing as tact. Although you may feel entitled to run around the room shouting "you're all morons!" to anyone who offends your senses, in the end what have you accomplished?

I don't believe you do much for your public opinion, but what does that matter? Everyone is beneath you, right? So of course you reason that what we think of you does not matter to you. Still, you have accomplished nothing by self-proclamation that you are more "correct" than anyone else.

Indeed you single yourself out to everyone else, what you despise most.

What is power without wisdom? Tyranny.

Showing some self-control does more to further your self-expression.

If I've lost you on any of these points, then perhaps you're still too immature to understand. Note that I did not say younger, since age is not a complete factor in maturity level.

Peace.

Typically, about two-thirds to three-quarters of all those taking our polls are visiting non-members... most of whom encounter ATS via a search.

While such visitors may still skew in favor of "conspiracy minded" topics, they will also skew more toward "mainstream" than the typical/average active member.

If the bible is only significant to 33% of the people on this planet why would you think it significant to the universe at large? Religious beliefs are completely local. Unless Jesus was an interstellar traveler that is.

I didn't know non members could take the poll. That will take the edge off a little....maybe even out the glp component....

I always find it hard to answer questions as to whether or not I "believe" in something. I think there's a difference between accepting something as likely and belief. For instance, as I drive down the street, I accept as likely, even without thinking about it, that people are pretty much going to stay on the proper side of the road and not do anything too crazy. I can relax. But that's an entirely different thing than believing in intelligent alien creatures visiting Earth. I can accept the possibility that they might exist, and might visit Earth. But I don't see that as particularly likely, since there's no good evidence suggesting it. So I don't really believe it to be true.

To me, the whole UFO/Aliens thing got off on the wrong foot 60 years ago, and now it's practically impossible to frame the argument any other way. So as far as I'm concerned, the questions asked are too off the mark to make much sense to me.

Sorry, my answer would go completely off on a rabbit trail. I don't think it's relevant to the topic of this thread.

That's a stretch of the truth 6 million years? Variation of our species, yes but not homo sapiens.

Homo sapiens only 200,000. That species being the first to have an intellect ability.
Dark ages I refer to any rein of religion, not just Christianity apologize for the confusion.

Let's look at the Summarians 200,000 roughly years ago. The first of their kind. Although smart, they are fast and strong. Working together they made cities out of stone and wood.

However "dark ages" would come in, nation against nation, tribe against tribe. They didn't work together, so amazing things never got done.

But look at the bagdad battery, a great invention of it's time. Not aliens, too primitive in design. Clearly our ancestors are smarter than we give them credit.

Just because we don't understand how they did something's doesn't mean it was magic or aliens. They were intelligent, not dependent on technology like their weak descendants are (aka us)
It takes time, not just genetic evolution but social evolution. just because one is complete doesn't mean they can continue without the other.

Genetic evolution allowe them to contemplate strange ideas but social evolution being incomplete it was rejected from their society as evil or magic.

Also about the avrocar, it's an article on discovery news I read a while back. I am not your nanny, I won't look things up for you because you lack the ability to do so yourself, you want tomread the article? Look it up yourself, I am not here to cater to your needs.

we should have been able to give more than one answer for the final question.
there are more than one element harmful to the credibility of ufo research
it is going to give a skewed result

So? They are more logical minded. Just because i like the idea of aliens and have seen every video related to the subject doesn't mean I take it as literal evidence of their existence, I rule out logical possibilities before assuming it could be e.t

To promote a skip in logical thought, would that mean ats's credibility just sank rock bottom, or is that to a conspiracy? I've met many members on the forums that refuse to listen to any logical idea, thus they cannot be completely stable.

What kind of site are you promoting? The forums are more filled with schizophrenics than debunkers. What is this mess? No wonder why this site is on the FBI watch list, I would put it on there to if I was working for them. (no i don't work for them. To the potential crazies that wish to send threatening pms at me)

Anyway, I hope I get to see a more scientific abovetopsecret, that deals more with political issues than magical fairytale godcomets.

Hmm short but nice Poll, although I would have done the last question regarding whos to blame for any lose of credibility to UFOlogy with the ability to choose multiple responses since at least a 3rd of those choices are to blame in my mind and some of them are equally to blame the most so picking just one is kinda tough and possibly result in inaccuracy.

Wags his fingers at "True Believers", im talking about you...

Edit - [Looks like others have mentioned that already, sorry for duplicity read SO's post took poll then decided to comment]

I want to see more polls regarding sanity. Or political preference.

Or a poll about ats in general. Ei how many people start a thread with evidence compared to this who don't have evidence, trolls, bashers etc.

I want to dissect the mentality of this herd. Mine Included.

Or how many admins/mods will delete your post because you debunked a theory they liked. Just because you on ats doesn't mean you don't think illogically. Once again this includes myself

has anyone proved that there is any extraterrestrial intelligence TO BE disclosed?

I look forward to reading the results of the survey.

All the best,

Isaac

I guess if they had, we wouldn't need disclosure...

If there was anything to disclose it would have been leaked by now. We are talking about a government that can't even keep it's debts paid, or keep military information secret.

A secret as big as aliens would have been leaked WITH evidence and I don't mean those YouTube videos with lights in the sky, that does not count as evidence more of a rc plane.

Sigh i know many will refute what I stated but someone who looks at the truth and sees lies, has a little problem up there if you know what I mean. Unable to filter junk information
