There was still NO reason at the time to tweet that. It was before the story came out. She had no reason to make it up. She tweeted she saw it right then. Then didn't think about it again cause she saw nothing else on it until the "real" story came out a couple days later.
There was if a person misread the ticker that was about Osama that day, the one that contained the words "Osama Bin Laden Killed" at the end.
The OP says they seen the whole ticker, but also says they can't remember the wording, or program it was on, etc etc.

Very strange indeed. I edited my post before you posted to add both titles.
Maybe a mod can explain?

Yes, but look, just some quotes from the OP
“I wasn't paying any attention to the show… …but rather, I was watching the ticker.”
“They were probably talking about the royal wedding, I'd imagine. I can't remember though. I didn't think I'd have to remember, ya know?”
“Hmmm... I'm trying to remember. I believe I posted it soon after seeing it”
“I usually post things quickly”
“I can't remember the exact wording now”
So to me (and no offense to the OP) but it seems to me she can’t remember much about it, not even the wording. I still think she misread the ticket and by her own words “quickly tweeted” about it, why no tweets after it, such as “still no news on the Osama death” maybe because the OP re read the correct ticker after they tweeted. It seems a bit flakey.
That just seems to make more sense to me.

edit on 7/5/2011 by Mikey84 because: (no reason given)
So my grandmother and I BOTH misread it? I'm a journalist. I don't typically "misread" things. I'm fairly good about that.
Anyways... you surely know how to pick and choose quotes. I did say those things, but I also can be quoted as saying how confident I am that I saw what I saw, and read what I read, and other things to that extent.
But you can believe whatever you want. Doesn't matter to me.
I think you both misreading it is more possible than a news ticker showing the information days before it happens, during the time a ticker with similar wording was going across. The simplest explanation is most likely the correct one.
I don't think you are here trying to lie to every one, not at all. I think you might just have misread it. My point is, the only way we can prove this now is if someone has a recording of the ticker itself, as your tweet is not proof, as you could have simply misread the ticker, like hundreds of people do all the time, regardless of their profession.
I hope someone finds the ticker and can show that it did say what you say it did, but until then, we won't know.

I can't believe this thread is 28 pages long based what the OP claimed he or she saw. Not one piece of evidence has been brought forth that proves Fake News ran a ticker of Bin Laden's death a full day before he was killed.
