lol o.k. mate, by the time this is everywhere it will be to late, obviously they would of only got to that stage due to people exscusing every other step and saying that people were overreacting, it was just for our saftey.

anyway, thankyou for making it obvious to me that the world is f*&^%$ up, the population are dumber than ever and the words freedom and liberty have been traded for saftey and lady gaga.

I too do not like Lady Gaga.

But look...metal detectors have been out for decades...and they aren't EVERYWHERE. Because of this I don't the "inch by inch" argument can be upheld. So you'd prefer that the metal detector technology not every be upgraded? Like all things tech...upgrades occur. Do you think if the internet was out when the metal detector came out people like us on ATS would freak out over that too? Of course. So the option of opting out would be there. Now it's here for new tech and that's what this discussion is about.

Where were you before the back scatter machines came out on this issue? Were you complacent with being screened before 9/11? So now that 9/11 has happened and there is an advanced screening process you have an issue with it? Just seems weird.

It takes me maybe 10 more minutes to get through an airport (except cdg) than it did pre-911. And now, only occasionally I get frisked.

In 10 years that's all that I've lost. 10 minutes per trip and occasionally getting frisked. Put that in perspective. Thing's change. If the government is conditioning us this way they sure are taking their sweet time eh?

metal detectors are fine i never complained about them. i would even opt for sniffer dogs that can sniff out anybody carrying something banned over a pat down as long as the dogs were not intimidating in any way.

watch the youtube vid, do you see anybodies privacy being invaded or them being treated in a degrading way?

there is no excuse for pat downs, at all.

and if you think the only thing you have lost in 10 years is the ability to not have a pat down, then i cannot help you. if we focus only on airports i would agree, but you have lost way more than that due to 9/11.

Hmm where were you when the white tsa officer did the same to the little boy near thanksgiving time.
Or is it ok for white folk to "feel up" kids....

Exactly.
The second a black person does something the racist come out of the wood work.
This site is full of dumb ass conspiracy theorist, and racist.

I like how he brings up race but when I reply to him regarding the white officer doing the same thing he goes quiet and ignores my post.

Hmm maybe in his mind it is ok if just whites did that.

I'm not black but it ticks me off when someone tries to pull the race card
For selfish reasons.

The part he added about welfare checks makes him sound more "racially motivated".

I have flown many times and encountered the evil TSA squad. I prevented getting groped by....walking through the metal detector

Am I missing something here? I have never once been searched, patted, groped, manhandled, or chastised by them. They don't even smile at me, let alone give me action! I have seen the lines for the metal detector walk-through and you can "opt out" of that, but by opting out, you're consenting to a search. So just...walk through. Seriously, am I missing something here?

Are you sure it was a metal detector or was it one of those X-ray units that see under your clothes?

I didnt ignore your post, I simply didnt see the need to reply to it because I knew what you were trying to do. I didnt feel like getting into a racial arguement with you, but since you refuse to let it go, here goes. You act as if its simply not possible for black people to be racist. Its only the white people that are capable of being racist right? Did this woman have a racial motive? Who knows. Its possible. Am I racist? No, Im not. But if I was it would be my constitutional right to say whatever I want no matter it be about race or mickey mouse.

How about we stick with the real issue here instead of picking fights simply to discredit everything else Ive said? Its really such a childish and overused tactic.

Apparently you already made up your mind rather she had a racial motive..
you called her a "racist child molesting bitch".
And went to talk about her welfare check.

Basically you insulted someone for only doing her job.
Which I believe is unfair.

After 9/11... I said if you let this be used to take our freedom we will never get it back! I can't believe all the people saying "wah i would rather be safe then have freedom" they took step one then two where will it end..with the gestopo!
I won't fly, my husband won't fly we gave up vacations where we can't drive and have not seen the kids far off fow some time. i refuse to be put through feeling like a criminal.

As i mentioned on another thread, my daughter in her late 20's young and beautiful with a little baby in arms u nder a year old, flew with her running club and husband to a race. She was singled out for a full body search and it was very upsetting for her...all the running club in their matched tops and hats are these a lickly terrorist and if so why were they not ALL searched the whole thing was weird! And WRONG!!!

What exactly do you expect them to do? Three points:

1) Like it or not there are people who can and will use children and our sensitivities to them against us by hiding items on their bodies. There are a fair amount of people in the world who would do some very sick things to a child to accomplish the aims of the almighty god.

2) This is far from "groping", by definition.

3) If the issue is that it's the government doing it, fine, I tend to agree and I'm no government apologist. However, if we removed the government and required airport owners and airlines themselves to provide their own security (which would be fine with me) provided they took the burden should they miss anything, it would be whatever security company these companies would hire doing the exact same thing.

Would it be different if it was a private company?

Peace
KJ

This. I was "Gropped" when i was around 10. It was exactally what happened to this girl. And keep in mind i have balls. The procedure actually went a lot better than you'd think. I didn't feel harassed, i felt a bit uncompfortable but really an hour later i never thought about it again.

The TSA incident has just escalated to this whole fight the power bananza.

We must hang the lawmakers who passed this

Yes! Finally a poster commenting with a different solution instead of just complaining and saying "government is bad mmkay."

I agree with your post. There HAS to be something better. I think the dog thing has a lot potential. I'm also no security expert.

And yeah, you're right about the 10 minutes and pat down not being the only thing we have lost. I just meant only in the airport. I know there are a few other things...like no nail clippers or liquids...but that's no big deal to me.

I think ultimately this is an argument over if flying is a right or not. In my opinion it's not.

when i travel (which is a lot) i save up my dirty underwear and socks and put them in my bag just to mess with them and see the look on their faces as they open the bag and take a nice deep breathe and i always laugh at them.
I'm also on a watch list and always checked two to three times so i figure i might as well have fun with it. When they go to pat me down i tell them this is my favorite part and look forward to the sex i paid for when i bought my ticket.
I also ask them if they like me to completely strip (this is so they can see my underwear with a little message on them).
I am always polite and smile and make sure i use the locks that you can tell if someone opened the lock just in case they try to play a game and put something in my bag to mess with me.
And bring an extra pair of shoes and socks in my carry on so i can have some more fun as i use my dirtiest and smelliest pair of sneakers so when i take off my shoes i like to give them a good whiff of the same smell that emanates from my government.

I work in this industry and we have been informed via internal memorandums that there was an incident in England where a mother had strapped an IED on her child, whether that's true or not or just created to condone additional screening, it's still terrible. It's really sad to see what this world is coming to..

However, I would like to add that this TSA agent went about her job very professionally and made every attempt to explain the procedure to the family and the girl as it continued, and no, it's not a drug test (like stated by the mother at 1:25). Anyways, that's just my 2 cents.

So black people are the only people that use the welfare system now? Now whos being racist? The simple fact is, the majority of these TSA animals would be flipping burgers if they werent being paid to sexually assault the public. The problem is, those same dumb animals are too stupid to realize this while they go on their power trips with their plastic badges.

Did I make up my mind? How does my oppinion on an issue mean anything? If I thought the woman was secretly working for the KKK would it change any of the facts? No. The facts are simple. The woman molested a 6 year old child and belongs in prison and if this is the "job" she was hired to do, the entirety of the TSA needs to be brought up on similar charges.

No sir, bringing up race isnt going to make me run and hide in the corner. I simply dont care if you think Im a racist, nor do I care what anyone else on this earth thinks of me. Infact, I refuse to even continue this arguement because it has nothing to do with the subject.

If your brain is so broken that you would actually defend a grown woman sexually assaulting a 6 year old, you need your head examined.
